Question: Halloween Contest - "Violation of another brand's copyright"
....I wonder what exactly this means?
At the moment I'm working on something related to the Demogorgon. Since it is a licensed character, would that already count as "violation of another brand's copyright"?
Is it allowed to upload pictures or artworks of the licensed characters in DbD? Or is it only allowed to upload things related to DbD's original characters?
I hope somebody can help and clarify.

Is it your personal artwork? Are you intending on receiving money for it?
If it's your art and you aren't charging for it then it's fair use.
Plenty of Myer's artwork on the forum.

It is my personal artwork and I do not receive money for it. However, I intend to participate in a contest to win ingame currency. And I'm not really sure how the rules are in this case.

I would assume more that it refers to copyrights outside of the game, like you can't mimic a film poster or an album cover or something.

I would be astonished if they disqualified people for submitting art of licensed characters. As @Theoretical_Heart pointed out, fanart is fair game. You can't make a copyright claim for that. I expect that rule is more referring to using actual visual material which is licensed, like a screenshot from a film for example.

It's in the forums, just go to Home and scroll down, there is an extra section for "Halloween Contests" with different categories (artwork, crafting, cosplay, screenshot).
Depends in which one you're interested in :)
