Increases the chance for you to become the obsession

Do you go down after those seconds. If not it sounds like a far more powerful version of old Mettle of Man.

I-... Of course they do, it's deep wounds, you need to mend or you go into dying.

What I think he means is does it act like deep wound where it only goes down when not in a chase or does the survivor literally go down in 5 seconds. Either way we don't need another mettle of man in this game
