The only killer I commit suicide against.

Yes people need to understand Nea is NOT a killer...
Guys she's the Entity

Wow, people these days get butthurt over the littlest things. Ruining the game for 4 other people because you're a baby who can't suck up one bad match? Get over yourself. Jesus.

Imagine telling people they should be forced to play a game they're not enjoying.
I'm not responsible for your fun bud. I very rarely DC, but if I'm having a miserable experience I ain't playin. If I want to have zero fun I'll study or work or clean the house. Gaming time = fun time.

The only killer I would suicide against is Freddy, but not because he is using Jump Rope slowdown builds.
I rather die than face him sometimes because his Dreamworld effect is so bad after the change it cuts my frame rates in half and turns my game into a slideshow.
Unfortunately I'm the only person who has ever complained about this issue to my knowledge. I blame it on my bad PC but surely there are others here with bad PCs who also have the issue? BHVR has not acknowledged my complaint so it is never getting fixed, which means I guess I'll just have to buy a new computer this Christmas.
1 -
Imagine thinking you matter more than 4 other people combined. That you having fun outweighs the commitment of finishing a game you started.
Whatever. People like you assume everyone has to put you first, and you're all incapable of actually realizing how selfish you are. It's just too bad you ruin other peoples fun in the process of being too immature to finish a game.

I mean, thats how i feel when the other team all have BL, DS, BT, and DH
0 -
Wow dude. Just wow.
Take a chill pill.
If the guy wants to loop the killer around let him. That is great for me. Here is the truth: It is impossible to finish gens and escape unless there is a good looper on your team. Either that or the killer you are fighting is a newb or just plain bad.
Against any decent killer you will never finish the gens unless somebody is able to distract the killer long enough for everyone else to finish. And that is never happening any other way than through running the killer around.
The game actually needs more people like him.

This is a *team game* for survivors. If you are not going to participate, play a different game. You are partially responsible for their fun.
I imagine that most of the people with this attitude have never played a team game (or possibly any game?) in the real world, because they seem to have never built up any basic ideas of sportsmanship and teamsmanship.
Just imagine how this would play out in the real world, with any normal social situation. "Hey guys, that pitcher is really good - and its not fun to not get a hit, so I'm just not going to play anymore." "Oh, man, none of my starting Risk countries were in North America, so I'm just going to quit playing because its not fun." Those people quickly stop getting invited to play.

Thats not what he's saying at all:
"I just hate doing generators, so I usually get the killer's attention everytime to get a chase until he hooks me and I die on hook..."
In the scenario you're describing, the appropriate one, he does generators until the killer finds him, then loops him like crazy, hangs on the hook, struggles etc... AT A MINIMUM. That is how you give *the team* time to do generators.
Deliberately seeking out the killer (thus cutting the time the killer needs to search), then doing a chase (likely half assed, since he's "not having fun" and just wants it over), and then suicide on the hook as fast as possible (which may also effect his team because they may *leave their gen* to save him only to realize they got unfortunately matched with twerp and are now down a *team member*)
Then to come to the forums and effectively brag about this. Sorry. Dudes a dick.

Ah, I see your point.
Well, the main issue here is that there are really BS builds like Jump Rope Freddy which are just 1000% annoying to go up against. I can understand his feelings, I sometimes just don't feel like playing against certain killers because it's either hopeless or just a damn slog.
In those cases it is better to just suicide/die on hook then move on to the next game or do something else.
I get that playing online entails a certain level of responsibility, but ultimately you are not in charge of other people's fun. It is just a quick 5 minute game online, with people you don't even know. There is no need to get so uptight about it. If the game is just bad I don't see a need to prolong your suffering.
It may seem similar to a baseball game with your friends, but to be honest we shouldn't apply the same logic to real world relationships to online anonymous relationships.

That's fair. I half agree.
But the games are short and queue times are not. If one could just "jump into a new game" like people say, is likely not care. But that's not the case. As killer on PS4 I can likely find another game quickly, but he damned the others to losing the game unfairly and they have to queue again.
1 -
Actually, we SHOULD apply the same logic, because you're still dealing with fraking HUMAN BEINGS.
And you ARE in charge of other people's fun in a TEAM GAME when you (using the 'royal you', not you in specific) when you suicide on the first hook to avoid a Killer you don't like, and thus ruin the game for four other people.
Suiciding on the hook is the EXACT SAME THING as disconnecting; you're bailing on the game and screwing your team over. it does not matter HOW you did it; it's the results that matter.
You bail, be it DC or hook, and your team suffers, because you were too much of a freaking toddler to accept that not every match is going to go your way, or only use perks YOU like.
(Again, using 'you' to mean our hypthetical hook-suicider. Not you, the person I quoted)
3 -
Queue times are short for survivor, so it's no big deal for me.
The killer side may be a bigger issue -- but the killer got a legit kill so he can't really complain.
I think it's a little different for PS4 players. I hear on PS4 it's survivor queues that take forever and killer queues are fast and quick. It's the opposite on PC, and doesn't look like a big deal here because it's survivors which are inconvenienced by this behavior not killers, and survivors can easily find a new game in seconds.
3 -
People acting like they have the moral high ground for not suiciding on hook against boring addons. 🙈
Kinda like people just want to move on to the next game where they have a higher chance of having fun before the original match would even be over.
6 -
I sort of agree, but not really.
There are times when suiciding on hook makes sense.
For instance, I just finished a game against Pig where I got caught 5 seconds into the match, downed in a half a minute, got bear trap. Then someone unhooked me. Pig tunnels me, now I'm in a bad spot and can't even loop or prolong the chase, I'm down again in 5 seconds and back on the hook.
Now, I could continue playing, and to be fair I've had many games where this same scenario happened and I pulled a clutch escape at the end.
But at the same time, it's much more likely that pig will just kill me the moment I get off the hook. Assuming someone even bothers to unhook me at this point. I'm not interested in wasting any more time in this game, so I'll just not struggle and die, and move on to my next game.
Now if you are telling me that that kind of behavior is unacceptable, we can simply agree to disagree. You are not changing my mind.
It's a little different scenario from the Freddy scenario given, but that just underscores how bad some builds in this game are and how they aren't healthy for the game.
5 -
It is the moral high ground because we're not so selfish that we can't comprehend that the other players are HUMAN GOD DAMNED BEINGS who deserve to have a fun round, too!
Holy crap! It's like treating people like freaking people is morally correct! Imagine that!
Please; imagine it. Try to become a better human being. It may hurt, but only for a moment. it's just your conscience finally maturing.
3 -
In your scenario, you did not suicide on your first hook.
You also waited to be rescued and gave the match a try. Which probably bought enough time for your team to not feel the sting of being down a player as much as the 60 second people here who go 'I don't like <Killer/Perks> so I will do nothing, get hooked, and force a death! Durr! Only MY experience matters!'
1 -
Honestly when I go up against the killer I don't really want to play against I just tend to do my best to become a massive chase target until they eventually kill me.
I'm not going to kill myself on hook or dc but I might as well just being annoying little bee until you get rid of me
1 -
Yeah i just keep on playing because that's how you learn and get better then expecting the game to give you an easy win.
0 -
Yes, though technically I died within 60 seconds or so of the match.

So, I see you missed the point of my argument. People play video games to have fun. If they aren't having fun, why can't they leave? If you go to a party and what they're doing there isn't fun to you, you would leave, right? What's the point in playing out a match with really boring addons when you can just suicide on first hook and have fun doing something else.
You're clearly taking this game way too seriously.
3 -
Equip Small Game, find Ruin, and then gen rush. It's really not that hard ima be honest. Even with Swing Chains it's at most like a 20% gen slow if everyone's asleep.
1 -
I did not miss the point. You just seem to assume something; that you're (the hypothetical person in the match) the only one who's fun matters. That you exist in a vacuum.
You see, there are 4 other people in that match you joined. Who are also looking to have fun, and 3 of them depend on you to be a good teammate. Do they not matter?
It would be like if you promised to bring all the chips to a party, only to show up chipless, and then leave, leaving everyone who DEPENDED ON YOU FOR THE SNACKS hungry and chipless, like savages, because you could not be depended on to be mature.
Or it would be like a football team refusing to take the field because they are going against the Patriots. 'They're 7-0. They're clearly OP! So why would we play?' They showed up to play a game, so they'd play it.
When you log in, you're making a commitment to play a game and either be the best Killer you can be, or the best Survivor you can be. Why is it a commitment? Because the other players are freaking human freaking beings who freaking deserve to not get screwed the god damn hell over by one player throwing a freaking temper tantrum because he/she 'does not like <insert Killer>' or 'hates <insert perk/addon/perk combo>'
It has nothing to do with taking the game seriously or not. It has everything to do with thinking about someone other than yourself.
And it's terrifying how many people on here can't seem to grasp common god-damned courtesy.
3 -
Failing skillchecks is exactly what Freddy wants you to do. Because it regresses the gens even more.
1 -
Same with old Freddy if the Freddy knew how to play him.
2 -
Yikes. And I mean, if I'm playing solo of course the only persons fun who matters is myself. Why wouldn't it? I play a video game to have fun, not for others to. Now I'm not going to go out of my way to dc every game or ruin another persons experience but I'm not going to cater to unfun gameplay.

Can confirm, was OG Freddy semi-main for a few months.
To be fair New Fred's slowdown is nothing like OG Freddy's. OG Freddy could slow the game to a literal crawl. Failed skillchecks I didn't really care about other than the fact it means a survivor woke up and I need to disengage from whoever I'm chasing, rush back over to the generator and re-sleep the survivor and go after them instead.
New Freddy, even with the "Time to slow the game down just a lotta bit" build AKA "Forever Freddy" is STILL nowhere near as potent in terms of slowdown as base-kit classic Freddy. Being asleep hardly means anything compared to the old one in terms of out-of-chase effects. (No aura reveal, no base-kit stall, and the new stall addons are pitifully weak)
Swing chains with everyone asleep is still faster than thanatophobia IIRC. I feel a majority of the complaining comes from the psychological impact of the red bar. "Oh my god this generator is taking FOREEEEVER" when in reality it might be like 8 more seconds tops.
0 -
That doesn't matter if generator is near 0%. Everything about Freddy was explained step by step in developer stream for when he was reworked for how to get out of dream world. I remember people saying he wasn't annoying to play against and that rework was complete success. All of sudden, playing against Freddy is not an instant win so automatically, It's instant disconnect. The survivors entitlement is real. It's like people don't want to learn to play against the an M1 killer.

Agreed

It's like the opposite of all the survivors bringing in uncommon toolboxes with maybe a regular addon at best...except he can't use them repeatedly without spending more points. but don't forget "gen times are fine you just didn't map pressure enough" is the common response to that situation.

It's the internet. Anything and everything goes if your gonna whine about something like that. Get off of it. You don't deserve to own a electrical device.
2 -
I love people like you. 'It's the internet! I don't have to have basic manners or consideration for my fellow man! I get to be a snotty little brat because it's the internet and no one can slap manners into my thick head! 😫😫😫 I wanna be rude just because I can! I have the empathy of a 5 year old! Whaaaa!'
People like you call people 'snowflakes' for getting offended when you act like absolute garbage, and then get offended off if anyone tries to moderate forums or games so you can't be human slime.
If you can't learn basic empathy, maybe you should see a mental health professional, you sociopath.
4 -
Ok? Not everyone is gonna treat you properly in this world is what I'm trying to imply. Your not gonna be treated right by everyone and as a adult (Maybe) you should know and expect that. If your that upset over what I said that's fine, write a book about it for all I care.
0 -
Are we really calling people sociopaths for people telling you to chill and that its literally just a video game? LMFAO. Sometimes people on the forums really should take a step back and look at what they're typing.

'People gonna be jerks' is not a good reason to be a jerk, dude.
Guess what? I lost half my teeth in a 6 year abusive relatonship. I walk with a limp, too. I still have PTSD almost 4 years later, which includes night terrors. My roommate did not pay her half of rent so now I'm currently homeless, too.
And I don't treat people like trash just because I had trash shoveled at me.
Lean to be a better person and think about other people, even on the net. It ain't freaking rocket science. Don't use an excuse to be a horrible person.
1 -
Sorry to hear that. Things happen that you can never change and that sucks. But all I'm really trying to say is in the end, its just a game you can't do much about it. And I know being a dick isn't ok either I feel as if I was being blunt with my comments. Sorry if you felt I was being rude.
0 -
I may have been a bit rude as well. I just don't believe in 'There's nothing you can do', 'Everyone else does it', or 'It's just how it is'.
It's only the way it is unless people make an effort to change it. Be that in person, or in an online game.

I couldn't really be bothered to write much so I have taken your comment and 'edited' it slightly.
Survivors with Flashlight/Toolbox, DS, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Lithe.
I just hate running loops and HAVING to break every pallet, so I usually try to find the weakest link first and just pray by the time I hook them, Ruin has lasted just long enough to prevent 3 gens popping in under 2-3 minutes (if I'm lucky). Fingers crossed they don't DC also, most likely causing another saftey pip at most after the impending shenanigans. Sorry, I play this game to have fun but I can't if my objective is damn near impossible and games are over faster than my first sexual encounter.
God forbid a killer should actually SLOW that nonsense down...
1 -
Yeah, it doesn't matter. 0% is 0% either way.
And no, I'm not a """"Survivor main"""".

I always consider it against Spirit. She is the most unfun killer too fight in the game, and I always get destroyed by her, not because of skill, but because it's always a coin flip if I'm actually mindgaming her or not. And once you add Prayer Beads and Activation Time on it, it's just a chore and always makes me go back too killer.
0 -
Slow Down Freddies are annoying, but as a Freddy main at red ranks, it's kinda necessary. If you don't bring 80 things too stop gen speeds you're gonna get gen rushed 9/10, so I never blame a Freddy for doing it, because otherwise the game ends in 3 minutes.
1 -
It's true, it often comes down to builds more than an individual perk/item/add on that determines something is unbalanced.
Is Iridescent Head OP? No, not really. Is the fact that it stacks with Infantry Belt OP? Yeah.
The thing is, there hasn't really been anything that stacks up so heavily on the killer side in a REALLY long time. For the first time, stacking progressively building slows is actually a viable option over something like Ruin.
The issue is that people are taking this as permission to DC or give up because they don't like that perks make their objective take longer, and yet killer have been dealing with 90% of survivor running builds of 4 extra-hit perks in every single match for years, making THEIR objectives take longer.
