Why am I getting bored of dead by daylight even though I love this game so much?

I don’t know why but I know that I find the killer role boring, maybe you are bored of a role you’re playing?

Maybe you need a short break? We all get burnout eventually. If you want try playing another game you like for a few days/a week then return to DbD.

I hear Civ 5 and Paladins are pretty good

Yeah I main killers and it's rather a good killer like the spirit I play or a really bad killer like wraith, I've taken a week's break and I go on it for 1 game and instantly get bored

Maybe try survivor, you are probably just bored of killer.

I mainly play forza, call of duty, a little bit of Fortnite, dbd and that's about it

Maybe you should try something new. Like a meme build or a different killer. I took a break from the game for a month and came back feeling the same. That's until I tried a new build and I started to have fun again.

Because the game is 100% grind. You have to grind to unlock the perks in the first place (or spend money) then you grind until you get it on the character you want. ######### you if you want bbq on all killers, 2 years in I still don't have it on a few and I bought leatherface immediately.
The ranking system is a joke, so there's no motivation there. Just grinding bloodpoints to get new perks to get more bloodpoints. It gets so stale so quickly.
The archives might help but I'm not holding my breath. We need freshness in the game, not continually repetitive killers and goals.

I have every killer and the top 5 rated killer Perks on all my killers (nurses, BBQ, Ruin, Surveillance : that's my spirit build)

Exactly, they add killers that have basically the same power as another killer, take freddy and demogorgon, your better off getting freddy because his abilities is alot stronger

DbD is three things which is why it's boring and frustrating.

- Always the 4 same perks over and over again.
- Always the same killers because against great team the cast is low.

Exactly the reason why I have stopped myself playing until the update lands. Then I'll be ready to grind. Getting burnt out right as the update is about to land is something I wanted to avoid.

I try to limit my playtime as killer to 2 hours and survivor to 4 depending on the role.
Despair By Design should be taken in small doses to keep it fresh.
Daily challenges are my motivator, so I am excited for the Rift as it may keep me more engaged for longer.

Maybe you're just burnt out.
Take a nice, long vacation from DbD. Go socialize. Go play a different game. We'll still be here when you're ready to come back.

The problem is the core gameplay loop.
While each match is technically different, every match has you running in circles around the same broken structures, through the same safe and unsafe pallets, jumping through the vaults and dealing with the unbalanced perks, items, and offerings from both sides on top of the core of the game being in favor of one side over the other.
Without a good foundation, a game is bound to get stale even if new content is injected in regular intervals.
This is because the core of the game doesn't have a good foundation for the new stuff to thrive as well as it could.
This is just my opinion of course.

Human nature.
The same thing over and over again will eventually bore you.
Moderation & variation are the keys to avoid that.

Give WoW Classic a try. You'll see what REAL boredom feels like.
This game will feel like a shot of meth by comparison (assuming you can get into a match)

There is no progression system in the game outside of spending bloodpoints on characters to prestige them and earn all perks. I got super excited when they announced archives/rifts and haven't played the game almost at all since the announcement because I need more progression in the game to enjoy it enough to constantly play it

Legion has recently saved me from feeling bored of Killer- there’s something absolutely satisfying about getting a sacrifice/kill with the Edgy Foursome- maybe it’s how hard it is to play them compared to most of the others Xx
