Remove the rapid clicking of the flashlight

There is absolutely no point except to bm, and that shouldn’t be encouraged.

Yea that's putting the use item key on mouse wheel it clicks it like 500 times a second.

    Just remove flashlights altogether.

@Eleghost Then maybe disable Mouse Wheel as option for a new key bind.

@LapisInfernalis That could probably fix it for the most part.

You seem like the reason why this community is extremely low tier, your opinion on this reflects it quite a bit.

I had damage to my hearing almost a year ago and developed hyperacusis. The macro flashlight is literally physically painful for me similar to nails on a chalkboard.

If someone is using a flashlight macro (So fast it's like one constant noise) I will facecamp them. I'm sorry but I am NOT putting up with that. It's actually painful and my only options are to get the macro-guy dead so I can move on and play the rest of the match, or DC and I am NOT going to be a killer who will be known as the "Disabled crybaby who ragequits over a little clicky clicky."

The extremely fast clickers are using external software and not mousewheel.

I also remember the days when the macro could actually cause some kind of DDOS like effect and result in all survivors simultaneously disconnecting and still getting BP. Presumably it would click so damn fast the data getting sent to the killer (Flashlight on, flashlight off) is just too much and the game poops itself.

One solution I saw someone come up with was turning the flashlight on uses up a small amount of charge all at once. If people are using macros their flashlight would be drained pretty fast while not interfering with normal gameplay.

It's the macros that bother me. People who click manually are annoying yeah, but the macro is to the point where I decide "Yeah screw this. I'm throwing the game and facecamping 'em."

    Actually I don't disagree.

I hate getting flashlights in chests because they are so useless.

They nerfed Pig roar spam, so logically they should nerf clicky clicky spam. ;)

On a related note, Did they also do anything with Nurse blink spam? I hear lots of nurses doing this.

This is why the devs gave up on us.

If someone is spamming a flashlight that's battery that is being drained from it. They are actively hurting their own item to spam it. It's only effective if it tilts you to the point that you start playing worse/tunneling because it annoys you so much. If you are that easily tilted by a flashlight spam, you might want to play a different game or take a break.

You're just one of many, one of many people who pathetically try to justify horrible human behavior by making the other side look worse by saying "lul triggered by pixels". Let me ask you this. If I was blowing an air horn in your ear for 10 minutes straight, would you say "lul I ain't triggered by toys" or would you want to beat the ######### out of me (asks he as if he doesn't know the answer)?

All a clicking survivor does is give you double gen pressure for the price of one chase assuming you're not chasing them. Plus, BM'ing is a major benefit for the killer, because then the survivor is wasting time.

Then maybe this game isn't for you. You could also turn down your volume if you are having problems with some of the sound effects in this game. Just a thought. :)

Seems like everyone is forgetting that Macros are against the End User License Agreement...people need to read that kinda stuff before they spout nonsense how those being clicked at need to "calm down" and "stop being triggered".

How about you quit breaking the agreement and respect the other side? Doesn't take much to be a little bit respectful, i know y'all ain't children.

Not everyone FL clicking is using a macro. I sure don't I just do it for meme potential and when I'm bored.

If a person is triggered by flashlight clicks in a video game... he's a child. Or an adult with the mental and emotional capacity of one.

If the devs are removing my ability to spam Pig's dash attack roar, then they should remove flashlight click spam, too!

... What I meant to say is, please don't remove my ability to spam Pig's dash attack roar.

Anyway, flashlight clicking can be annoying, but it's not really a big deal. At least if they're clicking their flashlight they're not working on gens. Over time I've gotten used to a lot of this dumb stuff and it bothers me less.

in general they need to do something about noise spam.

flashlight clicks arent that bad, you can get away from them very easily after all, however someone jumping in and out of a locker repeatedly is nothing you can just ignore, its always this annoying explosion on your screen that makes it freakin hard to concentrate on the chase you are currently in.

thats just annoying and nothing else - and needs to be reworked.

Isn't that working as intended, though? You are supposed to drop palettes as a distraction, as evidenced by the tooltips.

Though I do agree perhaps infinite spamming of a locker needs to be addressed, similar to window vaults. I wouldn't mind seeing an entity block on a locker spammed 3 times in quick succession.

They didn't say if wasn't garbage behavior. They said to learn to roll your eyes at the idiots doing it. Bming only works if you let it.

As for your air horn analogy, that would be causing actual harm. If you were punched in the throat for it. It would be warranted.

there is a difference between "making some noise to lure the killer over here" and "spamming the fastvault so the killer gets a noise notification every .5 seconds until he is so annoyed that he comes over there, hooks and facecamps me because i was an annoying little [very bad word]".

i dont mind them trying to lure me over to them by making some noise, but noisespam is an issue that is just annoying and really has to be addressed. devs themselves said they kept the cooldown on Diversion so long, because they wanted to prevent possible noisespam with it.

just put a buffer in, so the noise notification will only be able to play every 5 seconds, if performed by the same survivor on the same object.

they can still make noise to get my attention, but they wont annoy me up to the point where i will bring a mori next time i see them and heavily focus them down.

Edit: i got the name of the perk wrong xD yeah, Distortion aint gonna make a noise spam. its Diversion i was talking about xD

It's always because, you know, having big balls behind a monitor. That's the main reason why such BM thingys even exist.

They are both annoyances, that's why I compared them. Also keep on being toxic, you're doing Ochido's work.

  • MemberBerry
    MemberBerry Member Posts: 394

It's an annoyance no matter how you look at it. Much like Mr. toxic over here (Mochan) you're trying to justify toxic behavior by "don't let it get to you, hurrlul people who are annoyed by it are children" etc. Whatever, both of you keep being the reason why this community is horrible.

Lmao, you are hilarious buddy. Do you actually compare him/her to someone that plays the game JUST to bully killers?

What they are saying is absolutely true. It is 100% your fault if you get so mad over teabagging or flashlight clicking. Yes, it is annoying, but just get over it and move on.

By the way, let's also disable killers ability to nod to survivors, mori spam and the ability to hit survivors on the hook since it's "toxic behaviour" and annoying.

I am not understanding why it's BM ? Is it the noise that bothersome? Dev's can alter that.

As far as I am concerned survivors waste their flashlight by doing it. They aren't getting flashlight saves, and its not blinding the killer effectively at all.... Seems like its useful/benefits for the killer.. I've seen people waste them like that.

And as far as the noise, it just alerts me to their location if I didn't know already.

I am happier with them clicking vs blinding me... so /shrug.

At what point did I try to justify it? I said to get over it.

Thank god someone has common sense. I know someone in a Discord who wanted to remove the Survivor moonwalk, calling it an "exploit."
