if someone walks up to a gen while you're generating and just checks the chest and leaves is that reportable under poor sportsmanship?

Nope no one is forced to work on a generator with you.

Hell there are two perks in a game which benefit survivors mate if they work alone on a generator.

The first being technician a survivor perk which is set up to be a lone wolf perk you're meant to work on a generator by yourself to get the full effect of it as the perk will only reduce your repair sounds not anyone else's who's working on it with you.

The second one being discordance a killer perk which will notify the killer if more than one person is working on a generator. If you are aware that the killers running it it's probably best to work on your own gen unless you know the killer is occupied

From using seems to be working perfectly fine.

As I said as long as somebody is not working with you the killer should be able to detect it

No? Not even a little bit.

That's just silly to think you can report for that. Is this bait? I'm a Killer Main, and even I know you can't report for that.

No, loot your chest and cleanse your totems.

O.o I had people complain to me. a under appreciated bubba that a bill was hiding in the locker not doing anything. so I grab him and dropped him. then proceeded to chainsaw the others down and hooked them. Letting the bill go. not cause he did nothing. But because the other 3 were trying to team up with me. Ban no thanks

Unless they have Prove thyself hooray for 20 second generators!

No, people just misunderstand it. The gen itself still makes noise, what becomes harder to hear is the clunking noises of a survivor currently repairing it.

Actually technician is better in a group or when a killer is in a chase. He won't realize someone's left on the gen and if you sneak off and come back to it, he'll often not realize to double check since it doesn't sound like someone's on it.

It's possible you're on a gen they don't want done, OP (3 gen strat), or they have a different goal for that moment in the game. Some people run loot builds where they can find really good items. Some people try to go for fashlight saves or bother the killer. They could also rather work on a different gen than you in case of discordance.

    No 😂.

Maybe they're doing a Daily Ritual...maybe they can see the killer's aura...maybe they're worried the killer has discordance...

They are not obliged to assist in completing a generator.

How long does it take 1 person to do 1 generator? Because if its 50/60 seconds then the time on gens itself is about the same but 3 people obviously doing 3 different gens means that 3 pop at once rather than a group moving from one to the next

Also i always try to do the difficult gens to not let the team 3 gen ourselves as well i figured it was common sense until i seen it happen a bunch of times as killer lol

    depends.

doing such a thing you mentioned is fine you certainly wont get banned for this.

however, as all things, if its done excessively it can end up being bannable.

if you were to take 3 friends with you and all of you do nothing but hide, this would be reportable as taking the game hostage, as the killer would have a very hard time finding you and the game would never progress.

or if you sabotage the team by not doing gens on purpose just to have them killed would fall under the category of trolling. this might be hard to prove and therefore you wont be banned, though if one gets his hands on solid proof of you doing such things it could lead to a ban.

It takes 80 seconds to do a gen with no toolboxes, Perks, or Great Skill checks. It's honestly pretty quick, when you look at the time for alot of other things.

(got that from the wiki btw)

I start every game looting chests. I loot all of them before I even start doing any gens. I am perfectly within my rights, thank you.

    • This only applies when I am running Santa Claus builds

Nonsense. Not doing gens to get others killed is bannable? Hardly.

If I pack Left Behind and a Key and my strategy is to hide all game until my three meatshields are dead so I can get out the hatch, I am well within my rights to do so. Jerk move, but it is legit.

    have you read my comment?

because i was referring to taking the game hostage and actively sandbagging the team, which is certainly reportable.

your strategy doesnt cross any of those two borders - neigther are you trying to take the game hostage, nor are you actively sandbagging the team, rather abandoning them (which like you said is a jerk move, but far from bannable)

    No,

But you are guilty of repairing a gen next to someone searching a chest. Have you no shame?

    No.

It is very much NOT reportable. For one, it is also a strategy if the person is using discordance it will bring the killer over to you. You can also be better productive in doing separate ones. Not doing a gen, does not equal holding the game hostage etc. Which is reportable. Distracting the killer counts as playing the game amongst other things. Plus with the new challenges that will be implemented who knows what people will be doing to completely them as well as be playing the game etc.
