Can we require killers to actually make physical contact to hit?
I don't mind if movement speed is increased but the lunge range is pretty ridiculous and feels cheap to get hit from 2-3 feet away without the killer physically touching you. Especially with window hits, I understand the killer can "reach through" the window but at-least visualize it. Perhaps it's just dedicated servers but I've noticed some incredibly bs hits where I'm halfway down the second story window of a house on haddonfield only to still get hit, same goes for dead-hard giving me exhaustion but counting the killers hit first.

Latency is still an issue though, always will be when it comes to connection.

Short version, no.
Long version, no, because there's a lot more to it. Killers all share the same lunge to ensure that basic attacks are consistent between all killers. If they didn't, killers with small weapons (e.g. Freddy, Clown, Legion) would all have shorter lunges than killers with large weapons (e.g. Trapper, Spirit, Huntress). Obviously this isn't good for gameplay. You wouldn't be able to play different killers without needing to get used to a different lunge length.
Beyond that, there's latency. The killer appears to be much closer on their screen. When you're playing as a survivor, you don't see them as being that close due to latency. It may not seem like a big deal, but if you're moving at 4.0m/s, even 100 ping is 0.4m of distance. It doesn't sound like a lot, but that's enough to make it look like you're outside of the lunge range. Combine that with animations not lining up 100% correctly with the attack cone due to the size of their weapon and you can have some funky looking hits.
The important thing is that on their end, they were close enough to hit you.

That quote is very untrue, playing killer a lot of the time the mature killers say 'wow that hit?' A lot! Or the idiots 'hahahaha hitboxed!!!'

and there is just as many times when a killer misses when he should have hit and curses the hit box. It cuts both ways

That is hugely outnumbered by the times you hit the air and it hits the Survivor, sometimes you miss a Survivor because you swang very close to them but didn't make actual physical contact, but we are so used to that still hitting 9/10 that it's a shock when you actually miss.
You could probably find over a million videos where you are hit when the killer clearly missed, I wonder if there is even 1 video where the killer clearly hits a Survivor but it didn't injure / down them.

I've noticed the opposite, im actually able to vault windows and not get hit through the other side.
With regards to what you're talking about, unless you hop a decade into the future, ping isnt gonna be low enough to make hits feel perfect on the survivor side, but at least Servers feel better than an unstable killer hosting

I've heard Killers go how did that miss and I've had survivors also respond with how that that miss.
Anything that involves physical contact when lag or ping is involved is going to suffer immensely.
Also no one in their right mind has ever gone hahaha hitboxed and if they did no one would know about it because their viewers probably died from cringing to death

Not always, when I play Freddy, I always find some hits through pallets are clearly on the opposite side, or the swing will end but it will still connect. the killer is just as much a slave too latency as the survivor when it comes too hits.
Also, why can't killers have different Lunge Ranges? Could they not have a different bonus too compensate for the worse lunge, like more movement speed or a smaller TR?

This used to be a thing but it got changed. Slower killers used to have shorter lunge ranges

True, both things happen for me aswell, even on p2p connection. This just shows something is buggy with the hitboxes which causes these inconsistencies

I'm not sure but do you ask about this kind of hits "reach through" the window ?
Explanation for me : russian connection, window without collision, desynchronized hit + hitboxes don't take account of the vault...

i do see what you mean, i have noticed how even a knife, or that spike the pig uses can hit you when they are a body length away from you. or with wraith seems like they are hitting you with a floor lamp. sometimes you know you got some distance on them but suddenly right behind you.
it is weird.
i have played killer too but not once have i been able to hit from far. i'm much closer and i still miss. (on ps4)
