Nah they would've announced it by now if it were tomorrow. They still need to send out the certificate which takes a few days, and we don't even know if they've fixed all the bugs yet.

They usually announce things around 11 AM- 2 PM
And you cannot fix every bug

Enough to the point that it's at least playable. You and I both know the patch will be riddled with bugs anyway following BHVRs track record.

It's either early week or the next week. They don't release stuff on say, a Friday incase it needs an urgent hotfix. They don't work weekends I'm pretty sure

I'm going to be super disappointed if the event isn't tomorrow. It seems to me like the new patch wasn't even close to being done and they set the date way too early.

They surely won't release a Halloween event after Halloween. Has to be Tuesday/Wednesday imagine if it isn't they'd be the only devs i've ever heard of to do Halloween after the holiday lol.
Plus they have a Q&A this week which usually happens after the updates.
I can't imagine the meltdown if that happens. People were mad about a delay but going past the holiday?

Maybe a 5-10% chance it'll be tomorrow. I'd guess Thursday at best and next Tuesday is more probable.

My guess is based on a hunch I have that the devs will want to announce as soon as the patch is ready on their end to let people know any delays from then on are on Sony/Microsoft's certification processes. My guess is best-case they'll announce this afternoon that their work is all but done and they'll be sending it off for certification tomorrow morning, i.e. at best Thursday, and at worst, we get an update today or tomorrow saying they need a few more days and that would mean next Tuesday. I don't work there, so this is all based on assumptions, but I don't think it's likely we'll get it any earlier than Halloween.

They were working on it all week last week, had no improvements since friday, dont work weekends and were working on it today (monday).
It's probably NOT releasing this week. Sorry. Enjoy celebrating halloween after halloween :D

I can't list any off the top of my head, but from what I know there are actually quite a few that do their event after Halloween. Same with Christmas.

Something like that doesnt take alotta time to write it. Lets be honest. It was probably written on the spot on Friday, they all went home, resumed work today and still not made much ground work towards fixing the "gamebreaking issues". Maybe they're 80% of the way.. they still wont wanna release it tomorrow. Which means it'd have to be certified wednesday, they'll do their stream thursday.. probably with alotta censorship to avoid the understandable outrage. Certification will pass friday, they'll go home for the weekend.. we're looking at a monday-tuesday release next week i'm speculating

i think the most logical thing to do is release the ######### event on thursday, the hype already died ages ago so why not just release it on hallow's eve at this point

I checked the DbD discord recently and @Peanits had said they're aiming for before Halloween.
He also said no promises though but its something thats their current goal but it could be missed.

New patches always get released on tuesdays as far as I remember. Unless they make an exception this time, it will probably be released on the tuesday next week.

Because its a Halloween event that may not be out for Halloween.
We'd be grinding for ghost flashlights after the season for that stuff and jack-o-lanterns is over.

Personally, I am very disappointed because the game is getting very stale and kind of boring for me and the new event/archives would definitely be a refreshing change. It also feels like the patch wasn't even close to being ready for the release after reading their latest post and they set the date for event way too early.

I understand why people are disappointed. What I don't get is absolute ######### fits some people had over it. That's mostly settled down. But the intial announcement was followed by a tidal wave of anger. For something as inconsequential as an event I just don't get it.

yep the game is extremely stale, especially when you compare it to Identity V (try it out it's free and has a pc client). the amount of fun modes they have and every surivivor is unique and has special abilities. I mean it's not hard to make the switch to that game.
Are you really that excited about the archives? It's more of the same, doing dailies to unlock cosmetics. you will be "entertained" for a little while until you get bored again. This game is so stale and the devs will do nothing to change that after more than 3 years of development... let's not begin about the bugs and extreme slow adding of stuff to the game (unless it's cosmetics). I'm so glad I'm released from this game, even though it was so fun for a long time because the core mechanics are addicting to say the least.

@BBQnDemogorgon I guess, but Borderlands 3 "Halloween" event is going all the way to December 5th.... So it would be unusual but not out of the question if it so happen to not be this month. They only got a few days left and haven't heard any word about it since it was put out about it being postponed.
