What is the philosophy of changing ruin?
My thought; changing gen speed,IF necessary. They said so specifically that with ruin,they can't know for sure the accurate gen speed times. So by changing ruin,they will have accurate information in order to balance swf groups and randoms. It could be also about the new survivors,which is a smart move since the game is heavily killer sided when you are new.
So,I believe that they do that to balance the game more in the future. I bet that the gens will be as balanced as spirit,if you know what to do,you win,if not,fk.

That's an excuse they gave you. If they were serious about finding base gen speeds, EVERY gen pro/re perk would've also been trashed, but they weren't, just Ruin. They nerfed it to appeal to survivors, like every other recent patch, and did so in such a poor way that it's going to topple late games back to infinite level of stress.

I believe that if we wait a little,we might get a major killer buff,just like with instaheals and bl. Just wait and see :3

Because newbie players couldn't hit skill checks. Honestly, I would mind gen speeds if they addressed certain maps and adjusted toolboxes to compensate for it. Besides you can beat the majority of survivors at low rank using any killer.

In my opinion the devs wanted to relieve some frustration from new survivors and survivors in general about Ruin and simultaneously create a more active gameplay for the killer to use a perk and not just fire and forget.
The issue most in the community right now have is, without Ruin, there is a lack in options to stall the early game long enough, so most killers can come online. Ruin in particular was the only option within the game to slow down gen progression. That's now gone. Without any form of compensation.

I don't. After 3 straight patches of Killer nerfs, it's pretty obvious the devs don't care about them as players, and instead choose to placate the people who are bad with the red rank participation trophy

Yeah I still believe they are going for a 1k average. Survivors tend to bring more friends to the game as they can SWF.
Killers probably don't entice as many friends to join the game because killer is solo. As such they will cater to survivors in hopes that more escape and less ruin will grow the base.
But changing gen times is silly. No one wants to sit on gennys any longer. And ruin already increased gen times and they got rid of that.
As more killers learn to accept and are conditioned that 1 to 2 ks a game is alright the 4k = a win meta mentality will fade away. And I believe the game will evolve to killer kicks gennys, hooks some survivors and chases and then most get out and killer can pip.

I believe that they will change the Gen times. Maybe for 3 secs more maybe for 3 secs less,maybe not at all who knows?

And? People still stop to heal mid chase at safe pallets, meanwhile one of the best killers in the game got gutted to the point that you can flat out outrun her by holding Shift+W. Before that, Legion got gutted into a movement killer, and then now we have one of the biggest tools removed for "accurate gen data" while literally nothing else related to gens get touched. Objectively they're either lying or too incompetent to understand WHY the perk was at 80% usage in red ranks, meaning that either they view killers as gutter trash, or need to be fired and replaced with people who actually do play the game at high ranks. No matter what scenario you pick there, the end result of absolute stupidity on their part remains the same.

I don't need time to tell me that a SWF is going to bring toolboxes and prove thyself for sub 30 second gen times. Nor do I need time to tell that if their goal is just raw gen data, that they're going to get tainted data by not gutting EVERY gen related perk
