(Devs) faster, Faster, FASTER!!!
Just to preface: I mainly play solo queue survivor in red ranks on PS4.
1) Frame rate drops in the main menu feel like Chinese water torture. On top of the fact that it looks sloppy and this is a player’s first impression of the game. 3 seconds here and 5 seconds there start to feel like a nightmare. Even selecting different menu options (i.e. going from Bloodweb to Customize, etc.) has a tiny hiccup that just feels more disruptive than it really is.
2) The post-game result screen:
2a: Can we condense some of this information we’re given about the game we just played? Do the ‘Items You Lost’, ‘Items You Gained’, ‘Devotion’, and ‘Points’ status screens really need their own page? Is there no way to put all this information together without having to sift through all these pages? Does half the screen really need to be taken up by running Survivors (who aren’t even labeled as to who was who at all)?
2b: Another hiccup happens when in the post-game result screen. It comes at random times but the game will just freeze for around 5 seconds. It gets to the point where I don’t even look at my results sometimes just to avoid this interruption and get on to a new game.
3) And lastly but most importantly: (and this is not DBD specific as it applies to almost all online multiplayer games) what is the point of the lobby??? Can’t I just press READY and it do all the magic in one screen without having to put me in another section where I just press READY again?
I’m sure there are technical things that happen behind the scenes that I can’t really understand (I’m not very tech savvy) but why can’t I just press READY from the main menu and wait… so that the next screen I see is the game loading with all our Offerings being burned? The actual loading time to get into the game after burning the offerings is fast and great – it’s just everything else leading up to that.
I know some Killers would like to see what items the Survivors are bringing into the match but wouldn’t they be willing to forgo all this if it meant getting into games faster? I personally don’t care what my fellow survivors look like or are bringing into the game – I just want to play! If you say the lobby is a good place to tweak/alter your loadout, that can be easily remedied by just having your loadout set and committing to it before you press your first READY button. There would be no more lobby-dodgers and all players would go into the game more blindly, which would create a tenser environment.
I complain about all this because I love this game and just want to play more often than is provided to me. It’s been my favorite game to play since 2017 and it still hasn’t gotten old in my book. I just can’t stand all the time it takes to actually get into a trial. “An hour a day” of gameplay really equates to almost over 2 hours of being on my console… waiting. There are days that I really only have ½ hour to an hour to play and I hesitate to load DBD up because the waiting times can be so stressful. Not to mention it somewhat disrupts your “flow”. I’m even willing to forgo all matchmaking if it means getting into games faster.
Maybe I shouldn’t be complaining as I gather players on PC have longer waiting times than PS4 players but… I’m complaining and ONLY because I love this game!!
Thanks!!!

OH! not to mention the random disconnects when players fall out of the game during the final loading screen is just another time waster. I understand why they changed it so there MUST be 5 players loading into a match but man, sometimes I'd rather just play 1v1... at least I'm actually playing.
AND the random error disconnects, bringing you back to main menu, are seemingly becoming more and more prevalent and I can't quite figure out what is causing this.

I agree it would be nice to at least label the survivors at the end of a match.
As far as the "ready up" complaint, the biggest advantage I see it being able to tell the ping. It give you a chance to settle your latency to see if it's a match you really want to be in. If I'm going red to yellow the entire time, I'm going to commit to that match-up.
