Wraith is B+. Here's why.
Alot of discussion revolving around him, and since his addons looked like it made his power way more interesting, I decided to give him a go.
Without a doubt in my mind he is at least a B+. There are way too many misconceptions about his power that people believe to be true. Here are some of them-
- Wraith isn't a good stealth killer, since his cloak shimmers
Nah, he is. And you don't even have to be on an indoors map to be stealthy. Even if you're on a wide open map like Red Forest, that fact is that the lack of TR gives survivors less time to react, and if they see you early, your increased movement speed helps you catch up anyways. One thing alot of people look over on stealth killers is that they all punish the injured. The current meta-game for all survivors is to ignore basically everything besides hook saves and generators to get through the game as fast as possible. The thing is, stealth killers can get really easy first hits, or better yet, find the survivor out of position. Injured against the wraith is a death sentence, since you will have little time to react, especially if he is body blocking effectively.
2.His power doesn't help in a chase
His power can be just as effective, if not more effective, as spirits. You hit a survivor, they run, you cloak, you catch up to them quickly, then you down them. Yes, he has to eat pallets. You know who else has to eat pallets? Literally everyone besides Nurse and Spirit. So many people think that ending chases is the most important attribute in a killer, but the fact is, that is secondary. The strategy of down, hook, repeat is predictable, and survivors will be able to take advantage of how predictable it is. Applying pressure across the map is more important, since its less predictable, and its more pressure on all survivors at one time. If you are having issues, put on Spirit Enduring and Fury (lol).
3.His mobility is not great
His base mobility is about the same movement speed of legion. What makes even better though, is the fact that it makes him stealthy. Even if his mobility is just a bit more above average, that is still alot more pressure you can apply across the map, not even taking into consideration that he has really, REALLY strong speed addons. There are killers that uh.. would kill for that mobility.
Is there any crucial information that i'm missing that makes Wraith terrible?
Tldr; Wraith has great stealth potential, mobility, and can be totally unpredictable

Also sorry for the sh*t numbering thing, everytime I tried to add another number to the bullet list, it would always correct to '1.' :(

Wraith easily goes to A tier with any Windstorm Add-on
But I agree, I've played Wraith a ton over my 2+ years in the game, and people who say he's weak are blatantly wrong. He's very powerful in the right hands.

Wraith is very good and my favorite killer to play as. I like that people underestimate him, though. Let them get comfortable 😏

I was good with him before his rework last year. Old news to me

I'll jus say this....people kinda underestimate Wraith, much like many do with Leatherface and it can def catch Survivors off guard!

If you put windstorm on, he's basically a stealthy version of Hillbilly without the instadown. I think he's underrated, and really fun to play against. Much more than the S tier killers.

You can hear his footsteps and breathing, giving you more than enough time to react when he gets near you. It is really loud. Any Survivor who is paying attention will avoid that first hit, with enough time to get to the first loop.
His shimmer is visible really far away. You can use LoS blockers and go full stealth when coming up on a Survivor, but there are many generators where LoS blockers do not exist. It's pretty RNG dependant.
He is extremely vulnerable to flashlights. I haven't played him in a while, so not sure how bad they are, but every match I've been in where I found one in a chest (I don't ever ready up with one), has gone badly for the Wraith. I'm not talking about pallet break + blind or any of the stupid toxic crap that Survivors do. Just straight up turning around mid-chase and blinding him while he's cloaked and trying to mindgame me. I usually get tunneled and/or mori'd after this, but it is really satisfying.
He is extremely add-on dependent. HIs base kit got a buff iirc, but it's still not that good compared to a lot of Killers. He has really strong add-ons, the silent stuff is fantastic against Survivors who pay 0 attention to their surroundings, but they are more map dependent than most Killers.
Good Wraith Killers can slaughter a team of Survivors, but that's true for every Killer. I've gone against some Clowns who completely wrecked us during the match because they are simply good. Every Killer has this potential, but Wraith needs to work for it a whole lot harder than someone running a Billy or Spirit.
If you can consistently 3/4k at Rank 1 with a Wraith, I'd say you're a pretty damn good Killer. Much the same as people who ran Perkless OG Freddy or similar builds. A large part of a Killer's power comes from the person at the keyboard.

B+ ? I can give him a C- at best.

I think the fact that one of his clapper add-ons is only uncommon is pretty great too. I like using a clapper and pairing it accordingly. I also agree that wraith is pretty strong. I like him a little more than ghost face too since a lot more people are running spine chill it seems and ghost face is easier to spot than the shimmer.

I'd actually say that he is one of the least map dependent killers. Sure, you're gonna struggle if you're trying to run Coxcomb and The Ghost to try to get gen grabs and you get Red Forest, but I love Wraith because I very rarely have to worry about what map I get. Large, open map? Your mobility is even more useful now. Small, indoor map? Your stealth is even better.

It's not his mobility that is the problem, it's the setup time. He can get in and stealth on people if they aren't paying attention, or if they are in an enclosed place like a walled in gen on MacMillian or Lery's, but once he gets there it takes time to uncloak. That time gives someone who's paying attention plenty of space to get away from that initial hit. Especially if they've got an escape route planned out.
I'd much rather face him on the larger open maps because it's a lot easier to see him coming and you can easier judge how much longer you should stay on a generator before cutting out. He's a bit tougher on the indoor or smaller maps, because there are a lot more blockers to be used, but there are still plenty of indicators as to when he's getting close. The stomping feet + loud breathing are really bad if you are paying attention to them.

wraith is a very simple killer. he is easily loopable and i see not a single reason as to why he should be considered above avaerage.
in the end, he is one of the most average killers out there. not bad, but also definitely not strong enough to hold up to the top tiers.
i always say: if you end chases quickly as wraith, you are gonna end them twice as fast with hillbilly.

I think he is C-tier without add-ons. With add-ons, he is B+ or A.
He simply isn't fast enough and his bell is iconic but hinders him.
With Windstorm and a bell add-on, he gets more mindgames and way better speed.

Ohey, Wraith love.
Exposed Perks are outright deadly on him.
Normally i'd write 7 paragraphs on my fanboy-ism of him, but that 1 sentence will do this time.

The trick is not looping with him

sadly your loud af bell allows them to make enough distance to reach the next loop before you get to end the chase quickly.
the only way to avoid that would be by using an ultra rare add on, which is not gonna be available at all times.

That was just a bad wraith? Good killers will never get flashlighted in the open like that, and I have no idea why he kept trying to go back into cloak.
Do you really think the youtubers are going to upload videos of them getting stomped by good players? I somehow doubt that.
2 -
True, good players won't put themselves in That position. But also his reaction to the wraith is also worth noting.
These YouTubers also stream which will include footage of them getting stomped. Just need to be bothered to look for the footage.

Wraith is c tier

I think he's ok but don't know what B+ would mean compared to other killers. I play better with Clown who many think is worse. My problem with Wraith is that he is very easy to loop for survivors. He is very addon dependent but when you have good addons he is not bad at all.

Btw, yes, unfortunately that's how it is.
I'd recommend changing the numbers to the simple dots version, it'd make it all much more pretty. 😊

It is extremely rare. And when they do upload videos of them losing, it's usually after some epic struggle. I don't think I've ever seen someone upload a video where they load in, get downed in 30 seconds, and then get 1 hooked and camped in the basement or something similar.
That's just your typical cocky survivor player. A good wraith will probably be rocking bamboozle or spirit fury to make themselves unloopable. I like bamboozle, it's a bit harder to use, but only takes 1 perk slot.
There's tons of games I have super cocky survivors who just get absolutely butchered, because they are used to going against players like that wraith.

I love him but he could use a buff
