How many of you have switched roles?
Like the title says. I was a killer main for 7 devotions. Now I am about to finish my first devotion as a survivor main.
I felt I had accomplished all I could as killer. And I wanted to get as good as the survivors that were making my games so sweaty.
Also survivor is less stressful to me than killer.
So why did you switch?

i switched from survivor to killer cuz i had no choice. solo survivor is so boring and unfun that i had to switch, all my friends play on ps4 and i'm the only PC MASTER RACE gamer ;-; and despite killer being stressful it's still fun, in fact the stress it gives me is what keeps me entertained.. i think i may need some medical help
5 -
I switched all the time. It’s just if friends want to play or not.
4 -
Never did, i kept my "Lots of Killer, some Survivor" from the very beginning.
4 -
Play killer for bp and survivor to relax.
All playing survivor did was make me even more disgusted at survivor mains that complain about the state of the game, because i know for a fact how easy it is.
15 -
Never ... I still need to get the 1K sacrifice achievement :P
0 -
I used to play survivor like 40% of my games before the queues became a nightmare, now I only play killer with slugging builds, because im very tired of people abusing DS and BT when I'm not tunneling or camping.
5 -
I switch after every match
5 -
7 devotions?! I'm a devotion 3 and I already think I play a lot of this game!
About the topic, I'm always red rank on both sides
0 -
I tried switching roles but queue times as survivor are unbearable so i've just moved on to pastures new.
4 -
I play both sides equally. If I get genrushed or just start to need a break I'll play survivor. And Tunneled and camped I'll play killer. Not every game is gonna have tryhards or bad killers so it equals out in my opinion.
1 -
I did. I used to play both roles regularly, but recently started playing killer only, because I can't be bothered to sit through a survivor queue
3 -
I play both, I switch sides each game. It will stay like that probably,i enjoy survivor even tho it's soloQ cause i just stopped caring about doing gens, and I like killer cause i find it fun. I know it sounds weird, but I just do. I don't find it stressful at all,all that feel the stress just should play it in a different way and stop caring so much

I play killer most of the time. Killer can be super frustrating, but playing survivor gets really boring really fast for me. The only times it’s fun is when I’m in a long chase or trying to beat the killer to the exit/hatch at the end. Survivors need more objectives IMO.

2600 hours as Huntress, 100 hours other killers, 500 hours surv.
I play more surv now than before, still 80% Huntress.
1 -
If I'm solo, I'm killer. If with a friend, I'm survivor.
2 -
First 4 devotions was mostly survivor. Half to One Devotion on killer as I needed to go back through and get all the killer achievements I hadn't gotten yet. More sympathy for killers because of it, but I will almost always play survivor if friends are online now that I have almost every achievement done.
1 -
I prefer Killers for such a long time. No, I didn’t switch roles.
Also, Survivors queues are horrible, I don’t wanna play lobby simulator.
1 -
Almost always been a survivor main can't handle killer for an hour without my blood pressure being raised
2 -
I switched but also because I have a lot of survivor challenges to play. I played both sides quite a lot either way, though.
Honestly, it's just more fun playing a survivor in the sense that it's less frustrating - not that it's more fun. But that makes it fun, so eh.
1 -
It's definitely easier than killer at high ranks!
0 -
Totally agree. Those tactics ate up to the individual player not a side you pkay
0 -
Definitely switching has helped me see other side as well.
4 -
Yeah I love this game. I'm red rank as killer. Just got to purple as survivor. Not that impressive but it makes me feel good.
4 -
I find it more fun when I swf. Like to chat and hopefully get one of my buddies to do the looping because it's my Kyrpotonite
0 -
Haha..that's awesome! I get it I didn't play survivor for the longest time.
0 -
I was a survivor main for my first two devotions, 50/50 player for the next two.
1 -
That's probably true. I sweat much less now and stress much less.
0 -
Never switched. I only play survivor when with friends, and only play killer when I'm alone. The only exception is when trying to get certain achievements. Categorically, I play more killer and considered a killer "main".
0 -
Not that impressive? Dude! Devotion 7?!
1 -
Im a former killer main. Now i play killer and Swf pretty much equally.
0 -
I wasn't trying to impress anyone. And if you saw me playing survivor you sure wouldn't be. But why the hate. Was just stating my own personal experience. I'm sure there's better players than me at devotion 1.
Try find some peace in your life friend.

Did I read you wrong. If I did I am sorry.
4 -
I feel like people don’t realize you can play both roles... maybe if more people did this whole “us vs them” would finally die off.
1 -
I was a main killer and now I'll switch to... another game.
7 -
I am way worse as a Survivor than a Killer so I am unlikely to switch.
1 -
If I'm with friends, I play Survivor. If not, I mostly play killer. I used to play a lot more solo, but with the queuetimes at red ranks... I rather play some killer matches. Even with all the toxic clickers and tbaggers.
0 -
I'll always be a killer main to the very end.
That said, I play both sides relatively even (sometimes i play killer more sometimes i play survivor more).
0 -
Had 3 devotions as survivor, I switched because survivor is boring as hell. Even when I was swf I got bored real easy because survivor took no skill.
0 -
Believe it or not, I used to only play Survivor. My first months on DBD were exclusively in a SWF and Solo play.
I then switched to playing Killer exclusively. Then I joined the Forums, realized that if I wanted to be a helpful member, I should play both sides. So I did, I play 50/50 now.
1 -
No hate man, actually impressed by the Devotion 7!
1 -
Yeah I miss read that. Thanks.
4 -
Is this a trolling post?

I haven't tried lately to find matches as a brown rank survivor on ps4. Last time I tried, the queue times were awful. Now with Kakarot out, I'm not really feeling DBD at the moment.
1 -
I switched depending on my bloodlust/chill-o-meter.
1 -
No
I'm really enjoying slugging builds atm :)

I've stopped playing the game the past two weeks. If things are righted I might come back. I won't switch to survivor bc I don't like 3rd person pov. I think DBD might be done for me. No more money into it that I can see .

Switching from Killer to Survivor, because Killer has been very stressful to play, and it doesn't look like it's going to be looked into anytime soon. I mean it's been 2 years since the whole ordeal with Mathieu, and then they release an update directly damaging the role written entirely of the perceptive of the survivor, new survivors at that - who should be learning the game, not be having the game made easier for them.
Been going well, got one of my friends to join the game, and met a crowd of people online through discords and some streamers. De-ranked to help my friend learn, and ranking back up is pretty easy.
Though I do see myself switching back to killer, because I do believe work on the killer will be done at some point, it's just not anytime soon.
1 -
I switched to killer because I wanted to see another perspective. Playing killer has made me a better survivor as well, and showed me how frustrating playing killer can be. That and with killer I don’t have to rely on a crap team.

Your original post makes no sense. I'm not camping or tunnelling but people are using(I refuse to say abusing when what you mean is using a perk) BT and DS and that annoys me. Even though you're mostly only going to experience either of these perks if you're camping and/or tunnelling.
