Please add penalties for survivors that do nothing.
Just got done with a match playing survivor. The match lasted 25 minutes, at least for me. During that 25 minutes I was chased repeatedly by the killer. I had maxed out in chase points within the first 5 minutes. I managed to do 4 generators by myself. I opened a couple of chests, and cleansed a couple of totems.
Until I was finally hung and kindred activated I never once saw any of the 3 other survivors. At that point I saw one in the basement. I saw one come out of a locker, and then go right back in, and never saw the other one at all. Not a single one of them even made an effort to come get me off the hook even though the killer did not camp.
If 60 seconds goes by and a survivor hasn't touched a generator, a totem, healed someone or been chased by the killer their aura needs to be shown immediately to the killer, even if they are in a locker, and they need to have their movement speed reduced to 50% until they do one of those things. Yes that means they likely get hit and taken down. They should. You can tell me all day long how they are already being punished because they aren't getting points. That obviously don't mind that they aren't getting points. If they did they wouldn't be hiding the whole match. The only thing that is going to make them change their behavior is implementing a system that doesn't give them what they want - an easy escape.
Don't get me wrong. It's not common to see 3 survivors all doing that in the same match, but I'm tired of playing matches where 2 or 3 survivors do all the gens, take all the risks and manage to get the gates open and here comes the other survivor or two that did nothing but hide the whole match go sprinting out the door.

Agreed. Objectives should be mandatory and being immersed should be punished.

They already have penalties, less bloodpoints and high derank probability...

For me it happened yesterday, there was only 2 of us left and 1 gen to be done, I had bond, the other guy was literally crouching in the same area for about 10 mins (the hatch was there) whyle I looped the killer, I tried bringging the killer to him cause I actually got mad at him not even trying to use my looping time to do the last gen, but the killer wanted me cause he couldn't land a hit...
Wanna know what I did? I took the killer exactly to the hatch, next to a hook and stood still, I died but... He did too

As I said in my post.... the people that play like this obviously don't care that they aren't getting points. They obviously don't care that they aren't ranking up and/or deranking. So those penalties are not enough. If they cared about those things they wouldn't be hiding the whole match. Those things are not enough.

That's something common to see for me, Imagine if devs do something about it.. nah, it's not gonna happen.
2 -
If I could have even seen any of the 3 I was playing with in this match I would have definitely brought the killer to them. I have no respect for that style of gameplay.
1 -
like if they care, they're probably just trolling
1 -
I don't actually expect them to do anything about it. But I at least wanted to put it out there, and hope enough people agree to at least get them to think about it.

Reminds me of when I touch a gen and see Ruin...
4 -
Lmao. Claudette mains shaking at the thought of this.
5 -
Not that I play immersive, but if the devs implemented a penalty for something this stupid do you know how many people would just quit the game? I undersatand how frustrating it may be to play in a match with immersive players, but it is unfortunately a part of some survivors' playstyles. Stop whining and jist move on to the next match.
0 -
I actually play Claudette, but only because she is able to be a little more stealthy if I'm trying to avoid the killer seeing me while I'm doing things that are actually useful. The ones that do it to just hide.... How is that even fun?
0 -
I don't think there would be as many quit as you might think. On the other hand I could really care less if the ones that play this way did quit. As for telling me to stop whining...... if you don't like what I have to say stop whining about it and just move on to the next thread.

They probably see streamers doing it and lets face it, some have a natural talent of making it seem fun and then comes the fever of trying to imitate them. Result: We (solo survivors) all suffer.
1 -
Yeah agree. Sometimes if I get chased for over 5 min and still no single gen is touched or is finished. That should be srsly punishing for those who didnt do #########. Because I get punished too for that, because I will propably depip and die aswell. Get low points too.
1 -
Exactly
1 -
There are already penalties (little to no bloodpoints, no XP, no PIP etc), and objectives are already mandatory to get anything from the game.

Identity V has way more agressive afk crows than dbd. They trigger if they dont interact with stuff (repair, heal, plunder, sabotage etc) within acertain timeframe.
The mechanic is already here, the afk crows, they only need some different conditions.
But it cant be too strict. "Too frustrating" lol.
2 -
You should care, because queue lines would grow considerably and whiny babies like yourself would ultimately quit as well. Please stop crying like some entitled preteen who feels everything should be spoon fed to them and just move on. It's just a video game at the end of the day.

As I said in my post.... the people that play like this obviously don't care that they aren't getting points. They obviously don't care that they aren't ranking up and/or deranking. I have played a little Identity V and love the game itself. I hate trying to control it on a phone screen though. But yes, more aggressive crows would help.

So I would wait longer, but wouldn't have to play in matches with people that just want to hide. I'm good with that.
I love the "whiny babies" and "crying like some entitled preteen" comments. The person whose best argument is to call someone else names wants to talk about maturity. Ironic.
The "feels like everything should be spoon fed to them" comment is gold too. I literally commented about people that do want their matches to be spoon fed to them by the people that are actually working on the objectives of the game.
Feel free to keep on calling people names and making baseless arguments. The rest of us will attempt to have conversations and hope you just move on. It's just a thread on a forum at the end of the day.

So what do you want to do? Temp ban them for a playstyle?
KEK, no. I'm sorry - it's a multiplayer game. You can not, ever, under any circumstances, dictate how others play and punish them for not playing your way.
0 -
The devs are cerebral enough NOT to ruin their game by catering to a blathering whiner who wants to penalize survivors who want to play the game they bought the way they feel suits them. Again, it's a game at the end of the day.
0 -
Did you even read my post? I explained what I would like to see done, and it wasn't a ban. As for the res of it... cool. I don't expect everyone to agree with me.

Derank is useless, we got no reason to rank up. Also do nothing is a strategy, for noobs of course but keep a strategy.
0 -
It doesnt matter if they care about it or not. If they do nothing, they wont pip. So you can play for yourself, get to high ranks and avoid most of those kinds of players.
1 -
You can't really punish people for this. New players would get in trouble 24/7.
1 -
Yes, because they never change anything based on input from players. Have you even been reading the forums lately with the whole ruin thing? You are really good at the ad hominem attacks. It's sad though when the best arguments you have are calling people names.

Cool

My points are every bit as valid as yours. You also seem to be incredibly sensitive. Perhaps dbd isn't your game. May I recommend Stardew Valley? That might more your speed.
0 -
Sure you can. You may not agree that it needs to be done and that's fine. But if there were in game mechanics that made it detrimental to do nothing new players as well as the level 10 to 12 players I was playing with earlier would learn to do something other than hide and they would learn it quickly.

You do realize you are the one that responded to a thread on a forum, don't you. You weren't required to respond. Yet you chose to do so. You chose to make comments about "it's only a game". Guess what this is only a post on a forum, but it was important enough for you to comment on and call me names.
The fact you can't see your own double standards is amazing. Regardless, I offer you this peace offering if it allows you to just move on as you obviously think others have the obligation to do, but you don't. Here it is:
Your arguments have convinced me. You are right and I was wrong. Your ability to call me names has won me over to your side. From here on out I will use your method when debating people on these forums. I will call them names and tell them to move on. You have inspired me. I will forever be your disciple.

A number of posters in this thread have tried unsuccessfully to convey to you the penalties in place for immersive players (e.g. depips, reduced bloodpoints); yet, you continue to ignore this in order to build a case for your flimsy attempt to whine to the devs for unnecessary penalties. Just stop crying and move on to the next match.
0 -
That is not a peace offering. That is a veiled insult steeped in sarcasm from a pretensious, entitled poster who feels every response to his op should be in alignment with his thoughts. Sorry but you are wrong in my eyes. Again, save yourself the stress. Just move on.
0 -
This does nothing.
1 -
Actually if you bothered to read the other comments others have disagreed and I've treated their disagreement with respect. I just don't respect someone who uses insults as part of their debate tactics. But again keep telling me to move on from my own post.
0 -
And I don't agree those penalties are good enough. I am entitled to that opinion just as you are entitled to yours. But the moment you use insults you have lost my respect.
Plus telling people your thoughts and then telling them to move on is doing the exact thing you're criticizing me for. It's nothing more than saying "here's my opinion. You should just accept it and move along".
You are not accepting mine any more than I'm accepting yours. Yet you only find that wrong when I'm doing it. When you do it you find it acceptable. I respect your right to your opinion. I very much disrespect the way you give it.

You're bassicly asking for the afk crows to come more swiftly?
0 -
I hadn't thought of that possibility until it was suggested earlier, but I think that would work as long as they came about 5 at a time and even louder than normal.
0 -
Make sure that they didn't DC without the notification. Had a match earlier against a Myers where there were only 3 of us in the actual match. The 4th person got 21 points, and never showed up at all. I'm assuming they DC'd in some fashion, but no one got the indication and it never showed up in the post-match score screen.
Not sure how common this might be, but it's a possibility.
On the other hand, I think the Entity should block lockers, give it a 2 minutes cooldown, for anyone who's been in them for more than 30 seconds. I hate when people do things like this because it ruins the match for everyone.
1 -
Yes. Things like that would be great in place of what I mentioned
0 -
It really does stink when you get multiple survivors who dont contribute. I have a video saved of a Tapp just circling hooks in the basement and switching lockers while the last survivor in the match was doing gens and evading the killer. It makes the match last longer and it makes it less fun and frustrating due to the wait times between matches. I dont know if a speed decrease would be the right way to go about it, but I also dont see how else it can be penalized. :/

This game is a weird mix of Hide and Seek and Cat and Mouse
Punishing Immersion would be removing the Hide and Seek side of DBD
0 -
Exactly, op got 4 gens done and maxed out chase BP in 5 min. They won. Period. Even if they died.
They out in WORK and got the bp for it. The people doing nothing? Lost a pip and wasted their own time.
Too many people expect 4 randoms to work perfectly and make sure everyone gets full points AND escapes. That's not how it works. Sometimes you do well, and sometimes you're the bait. But if you do all the work, it doesnt matter. You earned it.
I'd rather have a 20/25 min game where I do it all and die, than 4 back to back first kill tunneled games where my 3 teammates get gens done while I die on hook.

There is already: Losing the game/depip or if its a hardcore "brb cats onfire" case, they have crows.
