The problems is the free buff
Many killers often call perks like ds, head on, bt or ######### like that broken or unfun (not saying some of them have their premisses unfinished or poorly desined) but if anything survivors don't need a nerf, nor killers need a buff, because then solo q would be an ASS BLASTING experience in the bad way. Hear me out:
what if instead of heavily changing perks that only need to be tweaked, making solo q balanced and swf OP or Solo q unplayable and swf Balanced, why don't we just... treat swf and solo q differently?
i tough of a system to do this: now killers and survivors have a 5th perk slot called an "aspect", the 5th perk slot can only be occupied by some perks, perks that don't have scinergy or a really bad one,
beast of prey, territorial, hanged man's trick, zanshi tactics, iron maiden, fire up for killers, all of wraith's perks, tinkerer, that terror radius perk from doctor, furtive chase, probrably blood echo, mind breaker, Barbecue, Dying light, Discordance
Kindred, dejavu, premonition, Technician, Probrably all of ace's perks, poised, that nancy generator perk, left behind, sole surivor, no mither, most of quenti's perks, windows of opportunity, streetwise, for survivor
and these "aspects" could even be changed so that you can only wear them on the aspect slot, but that's just an idea, the important part comes next:
SWF can't use them meaning a 4 man survive with friends are going to play with 1 less perk, and from there we can start making so both killers' and survivors' aspects are balanced and fun, taking of a load from survive with friends, because if a full team of solos are super coordenated and #########, they deserve stay with all they'r aspects because that is very rare.
TL;DR: make so non swf players have a fifth perk slot for perks that don't have combos (spirit fury enduring, resilience spine chill)

Barbecue in the 5th slot? OKAY.
In all seriousness, I think the risk of upsetting balance negatively is pretty high by adding 5th perk slots, even if you don't give them to SWF and even if you can only choose from a list of approved perks.

Issue with this aspect system would be it forces devs to tier their own perks and and such. Obviously we know what perks are useful or not but the aspect could bring a ton of contradictions. Especially with future perks releasing. Will perks be removed because they got a new combo? Would the devs purposely make ######### perks not meant to be impossible to combo? Just adds soo much more trouble than its worth. Fixing the already present issues without bandaids and duct tape would be a better choice than that.

I wouldn't be against solos getting to bring a free survivor-aura perk of their choice (bond/empathy/kindred/aftercare). Too much selection might create balance issues though.

Sooo maybe if the tie the perk options down a notch it would be possible? kinda like hex perks make it a rare thing?
for survivors a free aura perk or BP perk and for killer the same?
