They are not removing ranks from the tally screen!
It was not in the PTB and Peanits already said it was not happening! I dont know why people keep saying this is going to be a thing ð if it was, you might as well remove ranks all together.

I think due to what was said on the ptb for what changed it listed it on there and whether it was misworded or they didnât mean it a lot of people took it as is.

I mean, I'd be hard pressed to believe that this is anything more than a backtrack because internal patch notes leaked that were never supposed to be made public. Especially since the leak in question had the rank removal thing listed under "balance".
I believe they won't actually do it (or, it will still happen and they try and play it off as a bug), but I still believe that it was their intention originally to do it, and that they would have done it had those internal patch notes not leaked. Peanits can deny it all he wants. He's a community manager. That's literally his job; to make the company look good in the face of adversity.
Of course I don't know if it's true for absolute certainty, but this is just what I believe based on their track record of just...weird/shady decisions.

There have been many leaks which have turned out to not be true. It's the problem with taking leaks as gospel.
Discussions do of course happen within the team and it may have been discussed at some point and been in an internal test.
Who knows it may have been on the cards or may still be. The info we have atm is its not something they are changing.
I also think its possible sometimes they may put stuff in there to troll those who do leak the data and have a good laugh about it afterwards.

When the patch notes were leaked people noticed that under the balance category it stated that the ranks would be removed from the tally screen. The leak was wrong and ranks were still in the PTB. :P

He said that it wasn't happening. He did not say that it was never planned, or would not happen in the future. They could have changed their mind about implementing it after learning about the leaked info, knowing that it would look really bad. It may show up in the future, though. But, you are correct, they are not, currently, removing them from the game.
I'm not sure what the laughing emoji is about. Have you seen matchmaking lately? As it is now, they may as well remove ranks. It is definitely not a far reach to believe that they may have thought to remove ranks from the screen so people wouldn't notice just how bad it is.

due to the leaks of the patch notes, it would be obvious if they did that, that it would just cover up the fact they are slow and lazy when it comes to fixing MMing. so either confirm they are lazy and wont fix MMing or not do the change and eventually fix MMing

What evidence do you have that the leak was "wrong" vs. the leak being internal and never meant for us to see, and they backtracked on their plans?
The latter is more believable, given BHVR's track record. The latter is also more logical, because the leaks were 100% word for word the same as the patch notes we received two days later. Except for that one line. Plus, it's not out of character for BHVR after all the shadow nerfs they've done in the past.
"The leak was wrong" though. I don't mean to offend you, or any other person with the "trusted" badge, but it definitely seems to me like you guys (for the most part) will defend BHVR, even to an absolute fault. Even Peanits didn't say the leak was wrong. He said it was not happening. He never said it wasn't planned. He was very vague, because he knows we aren't stupid.

This, it was internal and you can pardon us for the conspiracy theory but they were planning to just slip it in unannounced. Someone leaked the info and they realized what a backlash there would be, so they left ranks in but they are almost gone anyways since matchmaking is anywhere from 1-20 and NO I am not talking about SWF.

Good. That's what keeps me and thousands like me going is moving up the ranks. Without it or if they tried to make this game more casual by hiding ranks I'd have no problem uninstalling.
Why do ranks matter so much? I don't know. All I know is I still play Rocket League after all these years strictly because of the chase.

The leaked information can be 99% accurate.
-1% for them deciding (for now) hiding the ranks only to cover up the tainted match making system wouldn't be a wise decision.
That -1% of "false" information somehow detracts from leaks in their entirety according to the nay sayers.

More than the potential lack of introducing the rank cover up isn't the only thing that has or can be changed from the leak.
Not even a fraction of leaked information being "false" does not and will not prove leaks in their entirety to be highly false or unreliable.

No no I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything. I'm being honest. I seriously do admit I'm too protective of the devs. Also don't worry about offending me. I know some people can be very passionate about the game. :D
