Tutorial and it's miserable state.
Are there any chances they decide to update it? It's state is so poor that reading advices on screen is better than playing it (not mentioning free bp)
If I remember correctly when Stranger things DLC was coming out there was contest on the best guide. Was it even used?

Yes because even things like this metter, when you start playing new game, at first you check in-game tutorial right? Even if it's not containing everything, after ending it you always get information about things you're checking. Let's Look at dbd for new player perspective:
Red stain what's that?
You can close hatch I didn't know that!
How do you activate perks, or they're passive?
Exposed? Does it mean killer can see me?
And help section doesn't help much too, at start you propably couldn't understand half of mentioned things even after reading.

Ah ok, you mean more 'in depth' things. But I think a newer player would not want to be stuck on the tutorial for 1 year

Honestly, a lot of their new survivor and killer problems would be solved if they actually knew about certain items, perks, features, and powers and a small practice mode to boot.
