R.I.P Q time......and gen time
played 4 rounds as killer and 2 survivor.
with a stop watch:
q time: around 30 seconds or less
gen time: 4:15 (1k, noed), 3:58(1k noed), 6:21(3k overaltruism), 5:34(0k let a baby dweet go)
Than i played survivor(solo):
2 rounds:
q time: 7:35 (had lunch), 4:23(made tea)
gen time: 5:42(1k noed), 4:32(0k)
Great thing that survivor q is longer than actual match time thanks to ruin. Atleast i can do usefull things in the mean time, like watch my anime or drawing lol.
But to be honest. even if this is just a small sample i already have enough of playing killer. guess its time to play survivor since i dont need to sweat my ass of to have a chance to win lol. Its most of the time not even that i cant win. Its just that im not interested to play a match that is only around 4 minutes. Same goes for survivor just worse.
evey match was on rank 1. well atleast my rank not everyone else since match making is still bad and u still get rank 8s and 10s.
And pls dont come with arguments of the "git gud" type i play this game for over 2 years and got over 1.5k hours. Atleast i dont lose anymore as survivor because my bad mates that somehow got rank 1 search for ruin.
ps: tstoped timer after last gen pop. and yes i use noed (even though i hate it since its a second chance perk) since killers dont have other usefull perks.
tl;dr match making as survivor is longer than gen time because there is no perk close as viable as ruin to stop gens.

I just kinda laugh at this stuff, like congrats about being a baby who's leaving to Survivor for even longer que times, you were rewarded nothing, I don't run Ruin so it's just sad that people need it to play Killer, seriously, a perk is your difference into playing a role or not.

Havent had any issues.
Looks like the only problem with the ruin rework is on the forums. This is non-peak play time, btw. January is already looking like it's going to be several thousand higher than Jan 2019.

noed works like this.
While Adreanaline rewards you for doing your objective noed rewards you for losing.
Even though both perks a crutches. one of them is atleast deserved the other is not.
While other perks like unbreakable or DS are just second chances. unbreakable removes the punishment of being downed if the killer trys to win time by slugging and ds can active even if u downed 2 others as long as the timer didnt run out.

You do understand 1 your personal experience doesn't really counter his argument since he at least bothered to get actual data and 2 your graph doesn't really show anything either right?
December 2018 could have had only 4000 players for instance but if they were on a proportional ratio (1:4) then it's fine. With Steam charts you have no way of telling what percentage of that playerbase is playing killer or survivor. There could be 7 million players but if killer/surv ratio is 20:1 then no one's really playing are they? You legit have no way of telling the health of the game with this.

NOED rewards the killer for playing the match with 3 perks. It also punishes survivors for not cleansing totems. Heck, it also punishes killers if survivors do cleanse totems.

Red ranks as survivor. Queue time about 3 minutes.
Game 1: Doc, rank 1, 4k.
Game 2: Doc, rank 9, 4k.
Game 3: Doc, rank 11, 3k with hatch escape.

So out of 8 games so far only 6 survivors escaped. 3 of them were me. That makes a kill rate of just over 72%. My survival rate is 37.5%.

well looks like u got the typical rank 1 potato like monto always gets in his vids. i only get the survivors true always gets.

if u waste time on clensing tottems as survivor u deserve to lose. you literaly wast time for a not needed secondary objective that maybe doesnt do anything.also if all survivor would waste time finding totems (which is nearly impossible for solos since there is no totem counter) you wouldnt need noed since you would have a chance to play the game without it ending in around 4 minutes

Noed is needed for killers such as clown, who have no map pressure. It is also needed for going against SWFs or just optimal groups who bring in purple toolboxes to blast through the map.
There is nothing wrong with NOED. You can rather cleanse totems during the game or cleanse it afterwards. And like many survivors like to tell killers, all you need to do is get better at the game and learn from experience.
There is no need for a totem counter, that’s just survivors asking the devs to hold their hand during a match.
And no, it’s not impossible for solos to find all the totems. Once you play enough, you learn where to find the totems. On average I cleanse 3 totems in every match.
Just because you don’t like the perk doesn’t mean it needs to be changed or removed. Learn and adapt.

steam charts show that the game technically failed. if you look at the all time stats you can see that the standart player base never goes over 20k for longer than a free weekend or a new killer. after new stuff it drops back to 20k.

They have straight up killed any motivation to play killer. They butchered Hag, my main, in either a stealth nerf or a bug. Im getting into a match with and its constant time delays on teleportation attacks with hag that i find myself just dc'ing and about to start playing survivor.

thats because survivors are op. did u ever see marth88s experiment? it pretty much sumes it up. the only reason its possible to lose as survivor is because u either play bad or get killed by the server. i notice that every time i play 4man swf. pretty much impossible to lose when u have good mates. and thats the porblem. the devs dont see how bad the game is balanced because the rank system just gives rank 1 out for free to everyone with more than 50h play time

still valid enough. still prossible to do. since they didnt play with perks. there is nothing in survivor base kit that got nerfed except heal time (which was bs and just ads more m1 simulator). gen time is the same and now ruin is gone. which pretty much negats heal time. Also marth is not evn that good of a player and they still easly win because of the gen rush.

you dont need to lol. everyone knows that swf is complety broken. but the thing is. marth and his swf played perkless without coms. which means its reproducable with solos. if every rank1 would do gens insted of hiding like rank 20s. survivors would never lose.

Which variables actually changed from 2 years ago to make the experiment non-viable? They weren't running any perks, no items, killers themselves are arguably in a weaker spot rn, gen speeds are the same. There were no substantial changes to invalidate their experiment.

The issue here is that you’re blaming a hex perk instead of blaming The skills of the killers that you go against. It’s the job of the killer to get you off the gen, not necessarily coming over to the gen but there are other ways and then ruin will have an effect

Yeah, cool, let me know your 500IQ plan for pressuring more than 1 survivor off the gen. Because otherwise ruin is literally doing 1/6 regression compared to the progress 3 survivors can do on gens, without toolboxes.

i dont think so. you can clearly see that the player base drops down to its usual amount after a licensed killer has been realesd or the game being free for a weekend. ups looks like im right
Edit: and this means....the devs fail to even keep a little bit of the new commers. they all leave after a little while. and what stays is the core player base which is being ignored.

I love how you people of "I don't use ruin or need it at red ranks to 4k" where nearly non existant before, now since the post about ruin changes, a lot of you have come out of nowhere and none of you show proof the backup your claims

Tried using Ruin on Doc only to have it gone in the first 30 seconds, but still destroyed them anyway. When it's active, the pressure you apply is rewarded by gen regression draining over time. If it's gone, you need to play more aggressively.

yea big brain time. ur still surprised that people think its possibe to have control over a match? As a killer you cant "earn" control over the match the survivors need to give it to you by making mistakes. Also the killer plays against 16 perks with 4 perks while each survivor has 6 lives (2hits) most of the time. While most of the time the killer loses the match if he even makes tiny mistakes or doesnt get a survivor in the first 20 seconds to stop the first 3 gens from instantly going off.

thats the problem. its effect is simply to weak to be a hex. it regresses gens at 200% regress speed which means 50% repair speed.......so basicaly nothing at all. Also ruin was never ment to be "late game". The old ruin was supoosed to stop all gens flying by the time u get the first down. the problem here is the following. First u need to find a survivor which already costs u 20 seconds than u need to get them which will cost u around 40 seconds with normal killer (not spirit or nurse) by that time 60 seconds have passed. which means 3 survivors have 3 gens on nearly 80% by the time u got one down. Yea pretty good that they got 3/5 objectives done by the time u have 1/12. you simply cant pressure all gens at once. corrupted is the only perk that somehow counter acts on that.

Apparently if you say "The game is going to die" in these forums that is data enough to go by. I wish these people would actually GO (as they claim others will do) and at least that would make their statements true. Instead they stick around to keep repeating how many players will leave. xD

look. i never claimed the game is gonna die. i just said that the player base is not realy growing since release of the game. it always drops back to 20k because the devs fail to keep the new players. i give the fault to the realy bad match making the ultra long q on low ranks and many bad design choises even though they balance the game around rank 15s.

Sitting in brown ranks as survivor on PS4, it takes forever to get a match. I don't see how they can expect to get new survivor players when new survivors barely get a to play.
Then I go against rank 20 killers who either get stomped or who don't even bother to try to kill anyone, presenting little to no challenge... playing lobby simulator just to sit on gens, hold down a button for a little while, and then leave isn't really much of a game.

Well I think it is still a pointless statement to make AND to assume that queue times was that affected by Ruin. Matchmaking HAS been a problem since a while back, it has nothing to do with a perk change.
It happened ever since the matchmaking update where it started to pair up killers according to the highest rank survivor. Which the devs already said they are continuing to work on matchmaking.
Regardless, the game is still successful and growing. It's not meant to keep "everyone" and there is obviously a replayability factor if it continues to keep people playing the game.

thats the problem. its not growing. while every other "service" game gains more and more players over time or stays at a realy high amount. dbd still only has 20k consistent. and the more dumb changes the devs introduce the more killer player will leave and q times will take longer and longer

Please name games of this same genre that are gaining more people.
I just recently played Last Year and queue times there are worse than DBD. Friday The 13th (I have over 1k hours there) and not going back because there is nothing being released.
The statement I don't get behind is "and the more dumb changes the devs introduce the more killer player will leave and q times will take longer and longer" because that is merely speculation you are drawing a conclusion because of a change which you are unhappy about, not because of facts or evidence.

DBD is usually within the top 25 played games on Steam, sometimes breaking the top 10 during peak hours.
That's the entire Steam platform, with 30k games.
