State of This Patch
Made a change that had one side of the players in a complete frenzy for a week, took no feed back, criticism, or concerns about, then released it without a word on any of the backlash. Not to mention the mods actively suppressing comments on the change, especially a certain coconut.
Then we move to the ranking system causing brand new killers to wait in queue forever and only 3 ranks higher having them be instantly queues into purple and red rank games. Then the survivors in those purple and red rank games or SWF with 1 red rank survivor having queue times from anywhere between 3 and 45+ min.
Last important bit at least for me, no event, not even a recycled event or even a reskin of the poor excuse of a Halloween event. Literallly just a couple skins, and they are cool, but... no event.
The only things that I feel were good this patch for the overall health of the game was the Lerys map rework, Doc music, and fixing Oni.
Otherwise, there is nothing to keep the game fresh so current players keep playing.
But I guess that is what BHVR was aiming for. They want to bring in the new players so they spend money on the cosmetics and DLCs then move on. I doubt they care equally or even at all about the current players.

What surge of new survivors? Unless they are coming for the doc changes which why would a survivor care about that
or they are coming over to spend something around 35 dollars to get the game, Jeff, and his skin.
What reason would a new player look at this patch and go, “this is the patch I have been waiting for, let’s buy the game now”

Doc is finally a decent...scratch that, he’s finally a GOOD killer. Using him now I don’t feel like throwing myself on the hook.
BHVR loses points for that awful trailer though where he kills Feng. She would kick his backside.
On top of that new Ruin is so much healthier for the game and as a 1600 hour vet yes it is less boring and frustrating to play against. Nobody liked those stupid skillchecks.
Its also surprisingly powerful with the right build/playstyle. Old Ruin slowed gen progress, new Ruin actually deletes gen progress. Its certainly a totem you want gone a.s.a.p.
I wouldnt take it myself because it doesnt suit my playstyles but yeah its underrated.

This is utterly false, they reduced the doctors stun and delay after shocking and changed his music.
The fact that your crutch perk was not kept the same shouldnt be a surprise, whining and insulting the devs got you nowhere.

This might come as a shock but some players can put out enough pressure that keeps multiple survivors off gens.

When I started, I was always told how whiny Survivors were. From my experience over the years, it's the Killer mains who are constantly playing the victim card and trying to bully the developers. There has been tons, upon tons of Survivor nerfs over the years and Killers have gained net buffs. Even the stats (not perfect) indicate Killers are doing better than Survivors. But of course those stats mean nothing, the devs are lying, and all video or people's accounts of how 3-4K is the new common outcomes are cause all Survivors who don't 4E are potatoes and are therefore not counted towards the "KILLERS ARE UNDERPOWERED" movement.

They used to actually do live Q&A now they just script their responses and cherry pick the questions, Devs are literally alienating their veteran player's that have serious concerns about the state of DBD but what do we get in the Q&A? "New cosmetics coming soon guys" they never address the right things and avoid all types of questions that poke at gen times and game balance.

You need both- but a lack of Killers is much more damaging than a lack of Survivors. 50% of all Killers leaving would destroy the game, 50% of all Survivors leaving would be really bad but not as game breaking. The asymmetricality works against survivors.

Oh my, you have let the power role go to your head. You need mice to chase. Who is giving you someone to chase and hook? Who is competing against you? Go play a Killer match without any Survivors and tell me how fun that is. Laughable.

Us killers leaving means you have no game ok other than a lobby simulator is all you will have. With no killers you will have no game and you will have no fun at all :P survivors leaving is no biggy but killers leaving is far,far more damaging to DBD.

You're both right ladies, no need to keep arguing. Sorrowen is right about Killer absences being worse than Survivors, but only because DBD is 4v1. Other than that, you're the same. Deal with it.

That mindset doesn't fully work though. For every Killer who wants to play, you need 4 Survivors wanting to play. If 100 Killers want to game, you need 400 Survivors willing to game. Saying it this way indicates Survivors are more needed as you need more of them than Killers.
Both sides are important though, it's just laughable how any and all Killer nerfs are met with pure outrage and calls for boycotting while hurling insults and demands at the Developers. If something was S tier on Killer side two years ago before the OP Survivors ate shovels of nerfs... then that S tier thing is now OP.

In what time? By the time you hook and go look for another, the one is unhooked and you have nothing new to show for it.

This would indicate #2 was chasing after you for the unhook and off the gen longer than they needed to be. People chasing for unhooks and rescues slow the game down more than the other 3 sticking on gens and leaving the 1st victim hooked for awhile. I don't know about you, but if I'm seeing both my allies chase for a rescue with Kindred on my own load out... I know things are likely going to be a 4K.

No, you are assuming he is directly behind me. If I'm on the farm and I hook someone in a corner, all it takes is 2 to be on the far side and one to be close for them to unhook before I can find the other two.

Imagine paying for a game, paying for about 50 dlc packs and then only playing one side.
The idea to let people play either killer or survivor was both a great idea and an awful idea.
