How would you feel if DBD ended?

If it ended abruptly then I'd feel disappointed (a little shocked but not feeling entirely surprised either?). I can only do so much in the few games I play without getting bored or feeling unsatisfied, and DbD scratches a gaming itch I never knew I had.

However, if it were a slow end due to competition actually being competent enough to make an equally decent asymmetrical horror game with original characters and lore to go with them (and be able to sustain a consistent playerbase because they know how to balance things) that manages to also scratch that itch then I wouldn't be too sad but still a little bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did. BHVR is catering to the baby survivor's (which make's half of it's community) and literally telling the killer community(other half) to ######### off. Yes the game does need to be balanced but if they keep on disrespecting and ignoring killer's, I wouldn't be surprised. Last Year is already looking better than this game

I currently have 3 games on my hand that require long term commitment in building up the characters. Tbh, I'm experiencing burn out in 2/3 of the games (DBD being one of the two) but I just couldn't put them down as I spend so much money and time building everything.

I loathe many aspects of both games and seriously hope Dev could come to their senses and wipe themselves into shape, get up and fix ######### before it is too late. But the reality is, they are out to make money, it is a business not charity.

I have the same view for both games I'm burning out, I will play for free until the day it cease operation, or it become so insufferable that I finally put it down. I would be feeling so relieved and free as I no longer get bound by both games.

It wouldn't bother me at all.

What makes this game hard to play is the fact you can't actually play it. The majority of my time spent is waiting in Q and hoping no one leaves the lobby or disconnects. etc. And even the challenges, if you are trying to do them,, "unhook survivor" ... get into match after 30minutes... survivor gets downed... you think OMG I can get my save! *rush over there!* Nope. DC'ed.... Still no husks in game or nothing. None of the bugs that are severe seem to get sorted out. Rank (emblems) itself is (my opinion) a joke. New content that you have to spend out your rear for, just gets pushed down our throats and so much more.. it's ... I mean. I enjoy playing a game that I don't have to deal with the same thing repeatedly. It's always been the same issues for me personally. I went from putting a bunch of money into this game (I actually wanted to give more tbh) and playing for hours/everyday..... to maybe I'll play a few matches a month.. maybe..Before the issues start to bother me or lack of fun kicks in etc. And they lost me as a "coin purse" as well.. Like.. "as if" haha. #NeverAgain #IKnowTheTruthNow /shrug.

Honestly, I am currently addicted to playing another asymmetrical game. They don't have nearly as many bugs, I consider it a polished game. Waiting 5 minutes for a match is the extreme "wait time" there is. Punishments are dealt with swiftly and non-biased *looks around here*. Anyways. They also listen to the playerbase and give out free things to people quite often. Lots of events take place and none of them take month(s) to happen or get delayed etc.

It's been great taking a break from the same ol' broken things day after day and it's kind of a relief tbh.

TLDR: It doesn't bother me anymore one way or the other. The game is extremely well funded due to various avenues they chose to take in acquiring said funds (Honestly I expect them to add more in the future as well)..., so most likely won't be going anywhere. (Especially with the design team.) So, if people were getting upset in the earlier posts... don't worry that much... lol. However, If this game actually "got good" I might change my mind and miss it... a little. o.o Idk.

Honestly I'm pretty sure the next update will be the big reveal on how the games ending. If they don't really balance it out by the next update or nerf killer again it will probably start nailing the lid to the coffin shut. Average game times have dropped by about 2/3 to 1/2 for me. I love sitting in lobbies for 15 plus minutes as a Survivor to have a 5 minute game if I'm lucky or have a 7 minute game as killer.

They care less about the game anymore then getting new people in who will buy the overpriced cosmetics, Rift levels, Rift pass, and constant DLC they pump out.

I spent about 3 hours playing today before I realized playing survivor was incredibly boring. I miss Ruin skill checks because that was the best interaction outside of chase's. Jumped onto another game and I'll probably stay there in all honesty.

Tbh, I would miss it. I have enjoyed the many matches I have played. Some more than others.

It just sucks that this game took a few bad turns, and it is looking like it wont last much longer.

Hype over a new patch is optimistic. Looking at the steam charts for today it doesn't even look like a patch dropped at all.

This is why I didn't do a "I'm leaving DBD" thread. I don't want to come off as "woe is me" -sniff-sniff. All the comedians would come out with the original one-liners and memes, taunting the user. But I'm not really bothered about it. It feels perfectly fine.

I wanted to know other players views on the prospect of Dead by Daylight ending. I personally wouldn't be dismayed.

I feel the same about Wrestling. I think it's likely I will soon be closing the book on that too, and for the same reason: It's not fun anymore. I have been a fan since 1991. The product has changed so much and been influenced by 'modern society' that it's turned in to something I actually dislike. The constant bombardment of virtue signalling, feminism, social media obsession and over-saturation has destroyed it for me. Unwatchable.

But that's the thing: we don't have to mindlessly CONSOOM. Once a product becomes something you no longer enjoy...it's probably best to wash your hands of it.

Finally, someone who has the same opinion as me, I said this about ruin in a Facebook group and I got called all sorts of names and made fun of, saying how oh you can still go for great skill checks blah blah. to be honest I don't think anyone had the brain capacity to understand what I meant. I know doing gens has never been difficult but it was somewhat of a little challenge with ruin

I would be upset, but not majorly. I've bought almost all the DLC with cash, but considering an hour vs dollar ratio, I've MORE than gotten my money's worth out of it. Had some great times, and some frustrating times, but I'd just move on and find something else to play. I do have a couple games in my backlog I really should get into. That and Steam sales... I hate Steam sales because I buy a bunch of stuff I shouldn't due to limited play time. Damn you Steam!!

I play casual though, and I have no income coming in from this game in the form of subs for streaming or whatever. Anyone who's major source of income stems from this game would be hurting for sure. I doubt it will happen though, at least not until BHVR has a legitimate game to take its place.

For all its faults, Dead by Daylight is still a damn fun game to play. I get rekt, I roflstomp some, I have tense and enjoyable matches, and that's just in one evening's play time. It always makes me feel a bit bad for the super tryhards and "professional" players because at its core, DbD IS a game for casuals like me. I play it for a month or three, take a little break and get heavy into other games, then come back to it for another go round. Pick up a few cosmetics for my mains and don't bother with the rest. This is not a competitive game even though it looks like one on the surface.

It's here for the memes and the lulz, and if it ever shuts down for good, I'll say a thank you for letting me enjoy myself as much as I have and move on to the next.

I don't have fun playing Dead by Daylight anymore as much as I used to, but I will definitely feel a tad bit devastated if the game dies, since this game got me through hard times a few years ago and brought me a lot of happiness and good memories with friends.

Dead by Daylight has had it's moments, but the past year has been full of constant nerfs over high tier killers, which made survivor queues even longer, and it feels like BHVR's just made things worse.

Games come and go, and I really hope that BHVR gets it together, because I honestly don't want Dead by Daylight dying around these years.

    My life would end /s

It would be hard to find a game that I could enjoy as much as I did with Dbd or World of Warcraft. Since wow is trash now Dbd was my next best choice becuase I loved the aesthetic and gameplay.

There is no other game that is that amazing as Dbd or World of Warcraft (Old expansions).

Honestly, I think it's the best thing that can happen to BHVR. They clearly didn't learn from their mistakes with Death Garden. Now before the mods go back to being salty that I constantly trash talk the devs. It's earned here. They've repeatedly made changes so bad that it's uprooted entire generations of players, until the next ones come in only to find the same exact problems the last one faced, but with a singular bandaid covering a gangrenous wound. It took the Game's lead director getting absolutely HUMILIATED for them to fix lightsabers, and it's looking like it'll take something of similar effect for them to actually listen to their community, and not the yes men they have for CMs and moderators.

So cynical some of you here. The game still has 20k on average and for a game in this genre is A LOT, the 2nd most popular game in this genre, Friday the 13th, barely has 1k avg players and someone here said that 2020/2021 will be the years when DbD dies? Nah fam, I have my beef with the game too, but right now, it's constantly top 20 on steam charts every day, in fact, it had the highest average players in November 2019, so what are we talking about? Are you expecting DbD to grow like PUBG?

It's understandable, why some of you aren't playing anymore, I've read one person had 5k hours. You've played the game for 5k hours, maybe it's enough, maybe you should reconsider playing something else, or take a good healthy break. I took a break when Legion was released until Plague was released, but I haven't stop since (maybe these weeks until this mid-chapter release because of lack of content).

What I want to say is that this game is still going strong and it will stay here for a while. Atm it's the best game in the genre.

I'd honestly would feel more vindicated then anything else as the only thing that will kill it will be the devs themselves.

It would be a prime example along with evolve on how to NOT balance a 4 v 1(Aka making the 4 being the power roll).

I would really be sad. Not just because of the money spent but also because I really enjoy the game. Unlike most people that expressed their opinion here, I donโ€™t really believe the game will die, at least any time soon.

Devs already said several times thay are working on matchmaking fix. If they actually fix and/or improve matchmaking, I trully believe the game will get in a very healthy state because it can grow a lot from there... but only time will really tell what will happen to it.

No problem at all. There are so many games out there, I mean I have over 1000 console games and I have played perhaps 400 of them. So many games I have bought but never had the time to play, I can play games the rest of my life with only what I already got. And still new games hits the market all the time.

If this game does end then I hope itโ€™ll teach the devs on what to do and not to do when they make a new game

Not entirely related but it is a topic of concern for just about all online games, ESPECIALLY those with dedicated servers.

They can just shut you out of hte game entirely, honestly there should be laws to make it into a pvp game (again) if the support ends, just so people can host matches themselves and still make use of hte product they purchased.

I can play titan quest in MP just fine because i can just host matched, but some games, BF2? just gone.

I honestly hesitate to spend money in DBD because it's now a service instead of a final product. Knowing one day the servers are going to shut off really puts me off even if it's let's say 5 years down the road. I'd feel more comfortable knowing if BHVR had an end of life plan such as giving community servers or having the P2P system as a backup.

Excluding that I honestly will be playing RE3 and RE Resistance in April so we'll see how that goes.

Iโ€™d be sad. I got into this game this past October and never played anything like it, and got hooked! (not literally) itโ€™s a very fun game and I love the characters and gameplay.

Iโ€™d also be a little mad because I ended up unlocking all the characters and wasnโ€™t able to play as everyone yet.

Even though I don't play much at all anymore I would still feel a sting of sadness as I played since day 1 PS4. Putting that much time into a game (even one that takes a turn you may not agree with) hurts to see end.

With that being said I would also hope that the people over at BHVR (all great people despite my feelings towards the game. Except those people Peanits ,mentioned sit around the table thinking up ways to ruin peoples fun!) would take away a few lessons and experience with their time working on DBD.

I would also wish nothing but the best for BHVR moving forward and would remain optimistic for whatever plans they have to fill the void DBD (like it or not) would leave in the "horror" market.

Then I would return to FFXIV because GODDAMN I wish I had gotten into this game sooner!

    I would be pretty sad.

I love the lore and the characters design a lot and i'm always excited when a new chapter is teased !

I really love this game even if sometimes i have bad games, i'm still coming back !

This game is the only game i play at least 1 game every two days. It's also a endless source of inspiration for me as an artist. There are bad changes and good changes, but i'm still gonna be here as long as the game is up. I have all DLCs (except Ash) and only bought 1K cell for the first Rift, but otherwise i buy my cosmetics with shards.

So yeah i would be pretty sad.

I would definitely be sad been playing this game a long time. Not the best not the worst at it on either side. I love it despite all the flaws. Its so unique and different from the normal gaming community. I'm absolutely bored or not shooters and RPGs. I enjoy the difficulty at higher ranks although it gets extremely difficult to play killer at high ranks. I say keep content coming, keep updating and trying to make the game better because it may be a long time before we get something this unique again.

Hell I was even considering doing a real life short film regarding legion and/or Plague lore

I love the game in terms of art direction, and lore, but in terms of gameplay it has becoming something I cannot tolerate much anymore. I used to handle it just fine but lately there is nothing to shake up the game besides nerfs. I was really hoping for an event even if it lasted just 2 weeks it would be enough to shake things up a bit but that will never happen again

I'd be sad, but happy too. For me, this is the only game of it's type I enjoy on console, F13 just doesn't do it for me. DbD felt fun, and the horror aspect is something I loved when I first played it. But now, after a year of just doing Gens, or smacking people and sacraficing them, it's gotten a little stale. There's no challenge anymore. Unless they seriously start adding some new objectives into the game, I wouldn't look back if the game did end.

What gets me, is we're STILL seeing Survivor complaints about how "brain dead" & "busted" Killers are....it just never ends with the mass amount of players that favor or solely play Survivor, still push for Killers to get nerfed into the ground.

Spirit got some nerfs, her strongest add-on changed and STILL Ive seen posts & videos of Survivor mains complaining at or demeaning others for playing her.....this community is often hot garbage

The game ended for me the day they went through with the Nurse changes despite enormous negative feedback.
