How is the doctor rework supposed to be less annoying to play against than before?

I think he's more annoying now to go against. His static blast stops you from doing any interaction. It feels like it's way easier to be put into T3 madness meaning no item using and the terror radius music isn't as discernable so you can't really hear it until he's already too close.

The last 5 matches Vs the new doc my teammates have DC's about 6 or 7 times.

Do you think the new Doc is less annoying to play against?

Most of it will come from how killers are playing him. I've noticed less super annoying 3 gen strategies, and more engaging games with doctor.

My advice is to run Calm Spirit for a bit. Or don't, because I don't want you all running it when I'm playing Doc.

Tell that to my teammates who have been leaving me in matches and getting destroyed because it's then me Vs the killer.

its now less about madness being a major hindrance and more about his power being able to put you into it for his addons to work. This itself would be bad but they made his shock therapy better which made stopping pallets and vaults more consistent.

Dispite what people say this is a straight buff for doctor as skilled players can use his shock to reliably stop vaults and pallet drops at loops. The old doc which i use to main and dropped since his shock was not reliable to stop loops is much worse than his reworked version.

as for being annoying... deal with it at least your not going to be facing 3 gen docs every time.

This guy makes pointless complaints for both sides. I legit just ignore them.

    I kind of agree.

The most annoying thing about Doc was the fact his shock would block vaults and you straight up teleport back across a vault. They did nothing about this. I'm still making vaults and lagging back to the other side. I doubt dedi's will solve this too.

To anyone saying Madness means nothing... you realize how EASY it is to put survivors into Madness 3 now? Between Shock Therapy and Static Blast it is insanely easy to do. Way more effective than Static Field. So the fact Snap Out is better doesn't matter when you are constantly tiering up anyway.

Oh and he is still a walking frame drop on console. I feel like I'm watching stop motion sometimes.

As a Doctor main with about 2600 hours in this game here is what I've come into believing.

Doctor before required precise timing, planning and positioning which added to his difficulty. Compounded with his cooldowns and speed, this made him a hard to master, but rewarding Killer to play.

Now, with this rework, although super fun to play. It has made him completely mindless to go against and took the skillcap from him. He's now incredly high reward no risk that even a baby could play him and 4k.

He's back to being competely unfun to go against as a Survivor.

Tl;dr - Doctor no longer needs players to go to medical school to be not crap. :P

I only played doctor a couple of times before the rework and the one thing I've noticed that his static shock is much easier to use . like you said old doctor had to be precise with his shock but now it seems like you can just use it and get a free hit.

as a survivor I've also realized that the only way I can really counter him is by throwing pallets down early .

Way better to play against. Before he had similar issues to LF, weak and annoying to use but with excellent facecamping potential which ended up being used when the killer got frustrated enough trying to play properly (or just because they felt like it)

old doc wasn't fun to play as either apart from weird stuff like snipe shock or stealth.

I found him a lot easier to play against than earlier. Idk why. He feels more smoother and predictable now.

killer mains harassing the OP when all they said was that they personally find it more annoying. they didnt say he was OP, they didnt say anything like that at all.

    1. After playing Doc his shock cone feels reduced, but not confirmed.

    2. Static blast has a decent cool down but seems to shorten on shocking survivors(?)

    3. The DCs are nothing new. It takes time to get used to new killers/reworks and some people still dc because of location 10 seconds in.

    4. You go back down to Madness 1 from snapping out.

Other than quality of life by removing the transition, the static blast was merely adding the survivor discovery that Doc painfully missed base kit.

I think people just don't read when they have frustration to get out.

I didn't mention whether I was a killer or survivor main so people could have assumed I was on a particular side complaining about new doc.

As you said though, my point was about comparing the old doc and the new doc in terms of how annoying they are to play as and against.

I didn't find him very annoying before but now he's a little more annoying playing against doc. Playing as doc is more straightforward because everything is just set out easier to use.

When I play Doctor, the gameplay especially in chases feels much more fluent now. And his static blast is much more reliable than his static field was.

As killer I ignored the changes to madness so far, because I dont care about those effects. (Maybe I'll try them sometime later)

Otherwise when playing against Doctor, the effects of madness are much less of a problem since you meet doc really often these days. I still need to get used to those reverse skillchecks better right now. But reducing madness easier makes it by far less annoying. (I hated to play against the old Doctor!) And since you get hit by a static blast more often, madenss MUST reduce it to tier 1, to keep it balanced.

So I am fine with the rework for both sides now.

Btw.: Countering Calm spirit is easy as Doctor: Just use restraint.

    1. yeah you are put into madness faster but you also lose it way faster.
    2. What survivors hated was the passive treatment mode walking around and just throwing people into madness because you happen to pass there as killer, survivors felt it required too little on the killers part to find them. Now the blast is an active ability that the killer uses when they think or know someone is close so its more skill.

In my opinion it's easier. Before it was soo hard to be stealthy against the Doctor, which is mostly my playstyle. Now it's a lot easier.

He is actually really fun to face, and calm spirit is his direct counter

His Snap out of it regressing to t1 makes up for how fast you reach t3
