Devs... please listen.
This is copy and pasted from my answer to the last question on the survey we were asked to take on 1/28/20. Please know that I am neither a killer main nor survivor main but I play noth equally. I'm not here to bully, harass or perpetuate toxicity in either direction so please keep your comments to this discussion civil.
"Guys... look. We all stay because we love what the game COULD BE and ONCE WAS. But.. it's getting harder to want to play a game that allows blatant toxicity and pushes for overpreformance on one side of the game; I do not need to tell you that the blatant favoritism on your behalf for survivor side is absolutely apparent throughout the entire community. You have alowed SWF to take over the game, genrush to the point of no return and work together to, not only intermingle perks to create an overpreforming and, frankly, over powered combination, but bully in that sense as well. I, like the rest of the community, am not asking for a guaranteed 4k- that is something I have to work for and enjoy doing so... but the unbalance and constant killer nerfs to benefit the SURVIVOR side is ruining my experience and everyone else's. I beg you to reconsider your current plans to dismantle the ability to pair certain genslowing perks on killer side and urge you to take a second look at how survivors work in general. If you wont nerf genspeed, add a second objective for survivors; make the game a little more thrilling on both ends. Disallow survivors to run meta before you nerf killers abilities to slow gens by means of perk limitation (as heard in your most recent Q&A), put a 5 rank gap on how many ranks apart you can be to queue with friends in SWF, implement DC bans and update your reporting system for PS4 (or other consols if needed), put a crack down on general toxicity and put clear definitions on what is bannable in game, and what is not. 80% of my issues stem from total unbalance 20% from general lack of care on the devs behalf of toxic behavior, broken game mechanics that are being aloud to be used in game, and totallly biased decisions being made in the survivors favor. I play equally both and survivor mains are just, by far, more intolerable than those who play both killer and survivor. Please Behavior.. we love this game, and we still believe in it despite what's going on, but should this continue I'm out, and so are most of your killers according to what we see on forums, social media, etc.."

it became already effective, it's enough to see queue times constantly increasing.
I feel like they are thinking to expand chances in lobby with the new matchmaking.
I honestly would feel real bad to see dbd die , but the path they took leaves no room for a bright future.
lots of asymmetrical horror games are coming and, in the state dbd is, it will take very little to move the player base somewhere else.

Well said, here's mine:
"It feels like there's been too much adjustment in favor of survivors, especially seeing how dismissively the developers respond to people bringing up concerns brought up by killers on the forums. There are many excellent suggestions for improving killer gameplay that go ignored or even mocked by developers in chatge of the forums. In every communication developers come off as biased towards survivor and only make this perception worse every time. I've been having anxiety issues in my personal life and retreat into games as an escape, and the December dev stream made me so worried about what was happening to the killer role it tripped off an attack. I simply want to be assured that they're listening to killer feedback and the game will be ok but it just gets worse. "Don't let anything RUIN your day" tweeted by one of them was especially upsetting since it showed how seriously our concerns were being handled. There's a lot that could be done to boost the horror elements of the game and the forums have plenty of great ideas. Never touch Moris since they're among the last scary elements in the game (I do play survivor too). Overall it feels like the game is in decline lately. The Freddy rework was perfect but followed by an immediate turn in the wrong direction with multiple killer nerfs that went somewhat too far. I bought $50+ worth of cells in gratitude for New Nightmare but felt immediately punished for my support by the nurse, spirit, oni, and ruin nerfs. I know this was long but I hope someone took the time to hear these concerns. I'd love to feel good about promoting the game on horror websites and podcasts but I can't do it in the current state of things. I've spent well over $100 on this game and don't want to see it go under. Hopefully if it's ported to the new xbox coming in fall progression carries over as well."

This is an unfortunate reality.. I'll just wait for Last Year to come to PS4 with the rest of you 😭

I wouldn't be sad if all the killers crying about Ruin left. One little change makes them flip on the people who have been carefully listening to them before, they even broke matchmaking for them! Now that devs are going back to spreading their love they are accused of bias and instantly hated. Good riddance to those that have lost faith in the devs.

yeah not to mention RE RESISTANCE, if it's anything as good as it seems, it will be a tombstone for dbd.

You just said goodbye to the entire playerbase who actually makes the game fun to play.

I'm only concerned, because of the MMR notes. I had 4 friends literally uninstall today, and are coaxing our gaming group into switching to GTFO. Like I know that's not a big number, but I imagine they are not the only ones.

Yeah, its kinda sad to see how much ######### is thrown at the Devs when a change is announced which people do not agree with. And every time without testing. Freddy, Doctor, Ruin... Every time the same.
I am even surprised that the Devs are still that active with their Community, when you see that people take the things they said in the Q&A and interprete them or change them. Or simply jump on the fact that one of the Devs thought that Leader was affecting Gen Speed (which is a mistake that can happen), completely ignoring what he actually said.

Hey, if you're not having fun - take a break. I respect that you know your limits.
Come back and visit, or don't. But I'm not going to insult you for knowing your limits.
That being said though, I want to remind people that the nerf hammer has and always will swing both ways. If you have gotten so blind to that, it's probably for the best that you move on.
I'll haunt you in the next game regardless - because one can be a fan of multiple games. GG

Who need ruin

tl;dr Evil devs catering to much towards evil survivor mains, ruin good, im uninstalling.

Exactly. I think most killer problems recently are coming from being in the wrong rank in the first place. If one small change destroys you so much then you must be doing something wrong. I did not feel the impact of the ruin nerf because I never used ruin in the first place. No matter which killer. So it is possible to play without Ruin.
Could the game be balanced better? Sure. Every multiplayer game could be, because perfect balance does not exist in the first place, unless you give all players the exact same possibilities. Like in chess.
Is the balance in DbD as bad as many people claim it to be? Skill wise recently yes. Game wise no.
I am not saying killer players complain more than survivor players in general, but I think it depends on the patch changes of course.
The matchmaking though is sometimes weird and kind of broken recently. A problem that hopefully will be solved soon.
Most of the stuff mentioned in the initial post is weird and in my opinion based on the complain echo chamber of the forums, not the actual game.
To call certain playstyles, no matter if killer or survivor, "toxic" is ridiculous. You can use the possibilities the game is offering you without being "toxic". Toxic behavior is griefing, cheating, bug using or insulting others in every other MP game except in the DbD-Forum's weird community. Here toxic means just playing the game in a way some players personally don't really like? Don't you guys feel slightly pathetic about this?
As a matter of fact I have never experienced a more self entitled, ego maniac, vulnerable community than the cry bubble here in the forums.
What nobody here gets is that the majority of players are OK with the game. Only few people who are OK with how things are going will create a forum account in the first place, except if they have very specific topics to talk about. On the other hand people who are not satisfied are always quick to cry and complain especially in the modern world.
Also people saying that the game would die is pretty much just their hatred and infantile thoughts showing.
On Steam (PC) Reviews are still very positive, and the amount of players has been stable and not declining according to Steam statistics. Recent user reviews of the last 30 days have even gone up from 80% to 85% positive.
If you look at some recent reviews that state which role they prefer the positive reviews are coming from all sorts of players, no matter the preference if there is any and it is not 50/50.
Many people in western countries these days seem to be very fragile and at the same time seem to show signs that they need to have a lot of instant gratification success, no matter how meaningful or deserved it is in order to keep mentally stable.
If not they go crazy and start showing signs of depressed, hostile and desperate behaviour.
I am pretty sure that DbD Forum syndrome is coming from that.

i get ruin being gone is a big thing to a lot of players but mettle of man got nerfed into the ground it’s gonna keep happening that’s just how it is they want the 4% of players who complain to be happy and the other 96% of players to get over it. As for banning they already tried that and it failed sense there game is buggy and has kicked people out numerous amounts of times hell on ps4 alone I’ve been kicked out a lot not by dcing just the software or the games stability or the hardware

We need new devs tbh.

You’re right man, I’m a killer main and I totally agree with you, I’m just here.. sitting on my room waiting for this guys (devs) to do something against survivors, if they not do ######### about this problem I’ll just assume that the game die and go back to F13.

It's not so much the change but how they went about it and the reasons behind it in both the QnA and designer notes anyone could see it was for survivors, ruin is to hard for low rank survivors so we are going to nerf it, DR is annoying to play against so we reworked him go check the designer notes and you will see that's what they said, we are going to look into slow down perks more so not only did they nerf ruin but they want to go after the other perks that can slow down gen speeds.
But soon as a question comes up about helping killers they pretty much push it to the side and move on, so why shouldn't killers be pissed at the moment when all they are getting told it pretty much all your slow down perks we are going to nerf.

Re: Ruin-->They said it was strong and weak at the same time, and this is something that can be agree on. Because vs good Survivors, Ruin did nothing (yeah, 2% Bonus Progression was stopped, but still). I had Survivors who ignored Ruin and simply played with it, and I am 100% sure they saw it (it was on one of the most prominent Totem Spawns in the Basement of the Preschool, no way they did not see it). And I also can get behind the frustration of newer players with Ruin, especially when paired with PGTW. You have a hard time getting any progress done and the Killer kicks so much of that away.
In the end, new Ruin is better when we look at those aspects, the only thing that is a flaw is that new Ruin benefits those Killers the most, which are good at pressuring Survivors. And who most likely not need Ruin in the first place.
Regarding Doctor-->He is better than before. And I guess his ability to be annoying did not really change that much, but there is more feedback involved. Instead of just starting screaming without any idea why (like, the Killer is very far away, why do you scream? You only hear a little bit of heartbeat), you know WHY you are screaming, because there is actual feedback from the Doc. And if you are a Stealth Player (which most likely every new Survivor is) you can at least somewhat predict it, once you know that his Cooldown is 60 seconds. So if he is close before doing his Static Blast again, you can get distance.
And I feel that this is nice, new players will understand it more than just randomly starting to scream.
And the Doctor Rework went well, only a few people call it a Nerf now, he is so much better to play.
