The patch caused for quite a spicy reaction from many in the community. But it seems some of those major concerns were ignored in the survey. The new Doctor and Ruin alterations were completely ignored. That's very odd.

Whilst personally these are not and never were sore points, others had very strong views on the changes. A lot of the survey concentrated on the last chapter. A second survey should be released relating to the latest patch. A patch which was game-changing for many.

There was far too much emphasis on Lore. Whilst Lore does add to the depth of the characters, it is not a defining part of the game for most.

Despite my previous comments about the game no longer being fun, I must admit I have enjoyed the majority of my post-patch play. This is something I did not expect. It's not so much 'tail between his legs' hypocrisy. I still haven't brought Premium and have completed all challenges on Tome 2, part 1. And the match-making is absolutely horrendous: I am currently a level 10 killer going against 3s, 2s and even a 1 yesterday. Full red teams. This is utterly ridiculous. But still got a few 4Ks yesterday, with Doctor, Leatherface and Clown. The main concern with myself is the amount of time that I have dedicated to DBD. But that's all to do with personal responsibility.

I will say the new Doctor is fantastic. Like the Freddy rework, this is a massive improvement. Playing as and against. The Asylum also looks top-notch with some great little details.

Hopefully the feedback received from the survey is actioned.

I wasn't surprised. They don't need a survey to get feedback about the recent changes or hottest topics, because people on the forum give them hundreds of comments' worth of feedback on those things already without being asked. They need surveys to gather data on things that are relevant to their future plans, but that players don't necessarily offer feedback on unprompted because they're not as important - things like lore and perk synergies.

I'm glad they are asking us if we like the atmosphere of the game right now.

    About damn time.

it's not that dumb for them to only survey on questions that people are less likely to fake results about

I'm a casual lore bug and tbh the survey excited.me. It's cool to have a game like this but its even cooler if there's like...a reason for it. As long as the world building doesn't jump the shark and takes itself seriously it could end up being really cool.

I was a rank 8 survivor yesterday getting matched with brown ranks all day and I loved it. Got all my lore notes collected. My main goal this time around is the Mr. Puddles body.

I buy all the expansion packs so its especially cool they're asking about expansions and their impact. I was like okay everyone recommends inner strength over self care and decisive strike. That's behind a hard paywall. Guess I better pay to win.

...but then I have all the perks and I mainly use alert, self care, opportunity and borrowed time. (I don't have the galaxy brain to remember like 20 maps of pallet locations sorry.)

...I do hope for more creepiness though. Maybe stages where ghosts fade in and out of existence or a floor of entity flesh every once in a while because its losing control and couldn't replicate the tile properly. There's so much coolness that's possible.

The devs NEVER intended to stop or alter the Ruin change. It was happening no matter the consequences. Same with this upcoming invisible MMR. Get used to being ignored.

Why would they ask for criticism of blatantly bad decisions they've made, they dont seem to care and are just gonna fly over most of it.

Most of my answers consisted of:

    Not likely

    No

    Probably not

    Neutral

    Matchmaking and ranking are bad

    Might quit

    Queue times are bad

    Game is unfair

    Dedicated Servers are horrendous

The survey mostly asked about the Cursed Legacy chapter and the general feel of the game, not the mid-chapter update.

They had a survey for the patch when it was in the PTB, before it was released to the main game.

My favorite part was where it was like "Is DBD good at survival, horror, Asymmetrical gameplay, balance, etc"

Everything was a no except gameplay. You got me there devs. You do have an asymmetrical game. I mean, so does Natural Selection 2,L4D, and Aliens Colonial Marines.

Either way, I gave 100% honest feedback and I hope it helps.

Cross play would be legit. That way I could even begin to consider buying it on switch.

They did a survey on the doctor changes/lery's update already during the PTB. Never brought up Ruin though.

The patch didn't change much for me. It was really small tbh

If the devs really cared about feedback these changes would have never taken place to begin with

Funny how they repeatedly asked about how lore affects you choosing a surv, if they had asked me about how skins affect if I choose or not a surv or killer it would've been another story

It was the same when they asked about a battle pass on a survey and it was already in the plans to release several months later.
