What the hell is this?
Could someone explain to me how it is possible that in all my games I face players of red rank? players rank 1 to 4 with more than 500 hours of play (many even more than 1000 hours). I started playing 5 days ago and I hardly understand the game and matchmaking puts me to play 99% of the games with players with many hours and many experience. Is there a way to choose who I want to play against? Is there any way to know before starting the games that rank are my opponents to be able to leave the game and look for people of my level? I find it ridiculous that in less than 3 minutes all engines are finish and I can't even hang up 2 people because they are looping as experts and I don't even know the map, they have all the best perks at level 3 and I barely with 2 or 3 perks do I have to face those kind of players? Who may want to play this game that is so unfair and unbalanced? Honestly if I could ask for a refund. I am seriously thinking of uninstalling the game 🤦♂️

Too many plauyers are rank 1, even those who should be much lower.
This makes queue times longer at both high and low ranks, and the matchmaking system increases brackets for search criteria for player ranks over time, so lower rank players will almost always come across higher rank players.
The way SWF works is also an issue; it used to go by the rank of the leader, and then the devs switched it to average rank, except it didn't work properly and just gave the groups the host's rank anyway, so low rank killers were getting high rank SWF's with one low rank (who often was just a smurf anyway)
Instead of fixing this, they decided to make ti go by highest rank only, which messed the entire game up. They were warned, and went through with it anyway. Fast forward and we have this mess.
The game feels unplayable if you're not in a SWF as survivor, or strike lucky and get the rare non-red rank SWF as killer.

I look at his steam account and see that they have more than 500 hours of play (some have more than 1000 hours) , I have 52 hours and I have to face those people? I find it unfair

When I play as a survivor I face high-ranking killers, who shows that they know how to play, and my teammates are just as bad as me, and low-ranking, but when I want to play as a killer all my opponents are experts, it's totally ridiculous, I can understand that the killer has the advantage that he can never die, but always facing players over 500 hours when I am a killer I feel that the game asks me not to play anymore

The best way is refunding money so devs will start working on it

I see survivors of my level, why when I am a killer do I never face them? it's as if all the players in my rank disappeared when I play killer and reappeared when I play as a survivor 🤔

Not a lot of people playing killer since the recent nerfs. That and the ranking system is ineffective. It more represents playtime for that month instead of skill. When people are in que, if the game cant find people your rank it expands the search. Wait long enough it will pair you with anyone.
Survivors don't want to admit it but they can be carried. 1 survivor can be a god at looping while the others do gens. Those 3 that did gens rank up but they themselves probably can't loop a killer if their lives depended on it. With the ranking system the way it is, there's a lot of high rank survivors that don't belong there. It takes longer to depip now. The lower ranks are flooded with survivors that should be in another bracket. So que times are very long for them. Thus when they wait long enough the MM throws any killer available there way so they can have a game. MM doesn't give 2 shits about your fun cause your the minority.
It sucks for new killers now. I came back after a long break so i deranked back to the new player ranks. I'm being paired with red and purple ranks. I've been to r1 before so i'm okay with it but i feel bad for you. New players shouldn't have to put up with veteran's. If i was a new killer i wouldn't be playing this game.

There are 2 problems with the game in this respect currently: There aren't that many new players that you can get matched against and the game matches you up with more experienced players in order to reduce queue times for everyone. The second problem is that on top of this the matchmaking algorithm seems to not function as intended at the moment - it's been like this for a while and the devs have promised a fix "soon", but i dont know when "soon" means.
You don't have many options apart from - play something else; wait for the game to get fixed; stick it out and eventually you'll reach your opponent's level

The most unusual thing is that when I manage to kill several people thanks to the NOED, people in the chat tell me that I have no moral, when I take care of the only survivor I could hang up they say they will report me for camping. I really don't understand, it's supposed to be played for fun but I never felt so frustrated in a game like this

First of all im sorry for what is happening to you. But hear me out, most of those red ranks aren't even green rank regarding their game sense and game knowledge.
With their latest changes to rank reset the devs broke their own system even more.
You are a victim of matchmaking which tries to find survivors on your rank for a limited amount of time, but obviously isnt able to.

I read that recently they changed a perk to make the game easier for new survivors, but as a new killer they put me to play with people over 500 hours, am I wrong or this it totally ridiculous?

I understand what you say, but when I play as a survivor my classmates are of my level and the killer is always of a higher level, but when I play as a killer the survivors are always of a higher level, where the survivors of my level when I play as a killer? I know they exist because they are my allies when I am a survivor, but it seems that everyone disappears when I want to play as a killer 🤨

matchmaking is awful at the minute but it is being addressed. Not sure what platform you are on but if you can get a group together of friends or people willing to help then you can do some KYF games to learn tips and tricks off them, learn the maps/perks and killers? I'm happy to help, I'm on all platforms

Welcome to DBD. Where no matter how you play you are considered toxic. Ignore the end game chat. I mean that. Unless you are deliberately doing something that you know will get you banned your doing nothing wrong. Their threats of reporting you are hollow. The devs have even put in a rule that filing false reports will get you banned because so many people are reporting. The devs stated camping, tunneling, perks, hitting survivors are not ban-able offenses. Those survivors were just salty you were using NOED. Which there is nothing wrong with NOED because there is a counter for it. The survivors just wanted to rush the gens and not worry about the totems. They made a mistake and you capitalized on that. There is no "Survivor's rule book for killers" Watch Saminations DBD parodys :P

Is there any possibility that my game has some error and that for a failure I am red rank as killer? I really can't understand it, I find it hard to believe that as a killer the survivors are always red rank and when I'm a survivor the killer is always red/purple rank and my teammates are green rank as me. God, I hope it's a bug in my game because it's really incomprehensible that something like this happens in 99% of my games
I don't want you to misunderstand me, I believe in what you tell me, but it's really hard to understand that a game is that unfair

There's nothing wrong with "your" game. It's "The" game that's wrong.

And I paid for this 😟

You're correct, there is actually a bug with matchmaking at the moment where the game will register killers as being at a different rank from what they are, and so match them inappropriately with survivors. There are other issues with the matchmaking system as well, though, so your problem might equally be one of those.
The good news is, the developers are working hard on trying to fix the issues and the matchmaking system is about to be overhauled, so hopefully you won't have to deal with this sort of thing for much longer. If it's too frustrating for you, you can always take a break and come back to the game after the new system is implemented, but if you would like to power through in the knowledge that it will soon hopefully be fixed, you can do that too.
As for people insulting you in the post-game chat, that's not unusual unfortunately. You should know that you won't get in trouble with the developers for camping or using NOED, though. Even if the survivors threaten to report you, it won't do anything. If the chat bothers you, I would advise either muting the chat altogether - there is a button you can click to hide the chat box - or just quitting immediately after the game ends and not sticking around to read anything they might have to say.

Good to know, thanks. I also want to clarify something, I do not have fun to camp, in fact I do not do it, I even always try to go for the survivor who is healthy to give the injured person a chance to recover, but when the game ends in seconds and all the engines already they were completed, sometimes I need to stay with the only survivor I have hung up to at least get a kill, but it is obvious that it is bad to be a killer who wants to at least be able to kill 1 player 😑
But when they say they are going to report me for that, I really don't know what else to do, do I play in a friendly way and don't kill anyone? I waste my time and let everyone win because everything I do is wrong? I am glad to know that if they report me for that I will not have problems. Many also complain that I am a tunneler but I really can't remember who was on the hook when there are 2 people injured together, when all the survivors are the same character is impossible for me to know who is about to die, I don't want to ruin the survivors' game and that they do not get points, the idea is that we can all have a good time, but it is difficult to be new to try to remember all those "rules" that the killers have, and thus prevent them from saying that they are going to report me or that I have no moral for killing them

Even though it sucks for the survivor, most people consider it pretty fair play to camp a hooked survivor in the endgame in order to secure a kill.
My advice to you would be to ignore everything anyone says. It's great that you want everyone to have fun, and I would encourage you to keep up that mentality of good sportsmanship, but don't throw games because you're worried about being attacked for it. Be a good sport, aim for a fun game for everyone involved, but also do your best and if you want to win, play to win. That's how I play, and it's really the most that can be expected of you.
If other people still try to trash talk you or insult your morality, they're the ones being unreasonable, and that's a problem with them, not you. There are some people who will never be satisfied unless you throw the game into their laps. Ignore them, move on, and if they take it too far you can always report them for abuse and harassment.

I’ve definitely noticed more of a rank disparity in my matches since the latest patch in particular. A significant number of the matches I’ve played lately as Survivor featured a Killer that was at least 2-3 rank colors below me and the teammates I’ve been matched with (in which most of them are around a similar level barring a few exceptions). I know matchmaking has never been the greatest, but this is the bigger disparity in matchmaking I’ve seen consistently in a long time, if ever.

The OP isn't obliged to respond to every comment on their thread, so quit trying to make them feel bad for it. If your comment really was just to help them, you wouldn't be so offended over not receiving a reply.

sadly you’re gonna have to play like 12-3 pm if you want balanced games. After or before that you’re always gonna be facing red ranks because the matchmaking isn’t too great.

I am sorry, English is not my native language and I have to use a translator and sometimes some things are not well understood and other times I miss some comments, I try to answer but I am not at the PC sitting all the time and I can not dedicate everything the time to answer all the comments, do not take it personal simply that I cannot retain everything I read and then I have to translate. You think I need to write and give a context so that in English you can understand well what I am trying to say and sometimes think about what to write and how to write it makes me forget some things 🙂
