More important Fun or “winning?”
I ask players from both sides, and I also realize some people feel like winning is fun so that’s fair too.
Personally for either sides I want to have a fun, interesting game more than I care about winning.
As survivor if I have a fun chase and manage to help my teammates escape I don’t care if I escape myself.
As a killer if I manage multiple hooks and have a few decent chases and mind games I also am happy even with zero kills.

In my opinion both, however fun is the most important

Fun. It's a game, after all. I don't imagine that there's anyone who cares more about winning than they do about having fun, because people only care about winning because they find winning fun or fulfilling.

I definitely care more about having fun than winning, personally. I don't see the point in doing something you don't enjoy just for the sake of winning. There's no stakes, no prizes- it's just a game. I would rather hit some sweet hatchets through a tiny hole in a wall or stun the killer twice with the same pallet and lose.
Granted, I'm probably not the most competitive person around. I don't mind taking a loss.

Fun definitely it's why I never use the most powerful things for either side I just use the perks and killers I find the most fun

Fun there is no winning in this game.

I’ve always considered myself some sort of hybrid. I like to win and will play the game as such, but I may not run what would be considered “optimal” or “meta” or anything. It depends on what I feel like running but, either way, I’m gonna try to win.

Yeah, this is how I feel. Whatever killer I bring or whatever perks I run I'm going to do my best. But I wanna screw around with some weird setups or play a certain way to "feel like a killer/survivor."
I haven't seen too many horror movies where someone tries to get the killers attention and run circles around a truck for 3 minutes.
And as a killer I have more fun playing sneaky or stealthy than just running after someone.

i try to win- but i also want to have fun. as a killer i try to play as fair as i can without compromising my win completely. depends on the survivors too - i mean if they are super "ochido" i might play different. as a survivor i only t bag etc if the killer is playing like a total dick
game would definitely be better if people werent so sweaty

An unfortunate truth. I just play for fun and BP. If a killer goes super tryhard (Camping, tunneling, etc) then I'll return the favor, but most times I've had killers that just try for hooks, but not to the point they will run you down the second your off the hook. As killer, as long as I can get my BBQ stacks for points, then I'll happily let them escape, but again, when they go super altuistic every unhook, then someones dying.

If you aren't having fun, did you really win?
I can get a 4k as killer, but if it was the most grueling process ever, there isnt much satisfaction to gain. same goes for survivor.

You aren't kidding, I had a game where I killed three survivors and they had one gen done so far. The last one got hatch and end game chat all of them posted (being serious) things like "get rekt," "too EZ,"

Fun for me = no toxic no DC

i only care about bloodpoints, so as a killer main i try and keep the match going as long as possible. kills don't really matter, only points.

I want to feel competitive.
As a survivor I want to have helped my team get out. I want to have extended chases long enough for the team to get some gennys done. I want to have done some myself. I don't want to be tunneled out of the game because that is not fun for me. Let me have a chance to play. And of course I want to survive.
Although I can have fun as a survivor and not survive if I got the team out and had some good chases.
As killer I want to have hooked a bunch of people and won a lot of mind games. I would need to have killed a couple of survivors or I will feel like I lost. I want to feel as tho I really made the game scary and challenging to the survivors.

That part about being scary to survivors, yeah I like that! Even if they escape I want them to think, "dang that was close that Killer is pretty good I wouldn't wanna play him every game." I don't want them thinking I'm a potato they can just abuse.

Agree totally!

Actually, I ended up doing that with Any Means Necessary and it was lit 🔥

How is this even a debate with some people? There's no reason to play other than to have fun. If you're not having fun stop playing
