I mean you really wear down your keybord doing so. and hell i know you can switch to another button or mouse wheel, but why exactly do i have to struggle? cant i just get a suicide button if thats the case that i should be allowed to kill myself?
im confused. struggle seems really unnecessary :P

i sometimes suicide on accident because i didnt push fast enough. or because i was writing a message on the steam overlay to a friend and the struggle event comes up.
i mean its not that i want to kill myself and ruin the game, but i also dont really feel like slamming my space key down all the time just to stay in the game.
i AM, but i dont want to. and it seems like a pointless thing to do that could just as easily be removed.

I bought a new keyboard and I think my space key is needs some adjustments. When I enter the struggle phase there's a good chance it won't register. It's like I'm hitting the key so fast it thinks I'm holding it down. Thinking about remapping it to something else.

well.. that is true. i mean its been in the game since launch i think? for a very long time at least. and im not sure ive ever really heard any developers make a statement about the nature of struggle and why its needed.

Can't you use a micro, or maybe just tap it lightly? I use a controller so it's not an issue.

i can but thats not the issue im trying to raise here.
the issue is, that the entire struggle situation where you MUST tap specific things or scroll your.. well scroll, is useless.
theres no reason for why we should keep tapping a button to not die like that. it seems useless and is a waste of time and button longivity.

It was for tension and allows you to leave if you know it's useless to struggle. I agree it needs a rework, maybe just hold a button and let go when you want to die.

What if struggle was like wiggle. You struggled to fill up a bar that attempts to push the entity away. Keeping the 4% chance to free yourself? Or make it 2%. Maybe 1 shot deal?

I made a macro for my Logitech mouse button 5 to mash space. And mouse button 4 to mash AD.

I've been saying this was a horrible mechanic since I started playing over a year ago, and other players were complaining about it before then. Everyone playing survivor should just refuse to struggle on the hook; maybe then something might change. Until then, it's probably gonna stay in the game.
