What is BHVR's long term plan?

Obviously they care about money over overall satisfaction. (Proven by maaaaany things ;).)

Ruin change made this game more attractive for newer players, but now many killers stop playing this game alltogether, leading to very long queue times (with short matches lmao).

Leeching money off new players is cool and all but at one point many people will stop playing and advice other people to not touch this game and spend money on it.

Why not just make the game fun for everyone? Milking this game for another year and then make it die is so much wasted potencial.

None of us know, but I'm pretty confident their plan is to make the game fun for everyone, not to "milk the game for another year and then make it die".

But really, the only people who could properly answer that question are BHVR themselves, and they're not going to, because in the past when they've shared their long-term plans, people interpreted them as promises and got upset when the plans changed. That's why we don't hear about changes when they're still in development anymore, only when they're about to be released.

I can't know it, but for me it feels as would they like to make this game more casual.

I personally think that is the wrong way, but can someone really blame a companie that it likes to earn more money?

Behaviour would gain much much more money by making the game competitve actually.

If a game can be played at an e-sport level, thats usually where the playerbase (and money) starts to go crazy high.

I doubt they want the game to die, mostly because it's their only cash cow but they know survivors are money profitable and they know they need more new players, but not thinking about making the killer side fun is short sighted at best and if they are thinking of killer they need to fire the person who's been signing off on the killer changes as of recent

Long term plan? To completely ruin the game. Theyre on the best way to that goal. I stopped playing recently as a killer main with nearly 2000 hours of gameplay. They wont get any more money from me.

For esports they would need to accept, that challenges need to be in the game and I am not sure if they are ready for it.

Also a lot of bugs would be need to be fixed.

On the other hand, guys that play dbd only for a few weeks, or months are surely not so much interested in bugfixes and balance. They have their short fun in dbd. Buy maybe some dlc's and a few skins before they uninstall the game.

Sounds not like profit, but if enough people doing this, it can be profit^^ (at least I have read about other games that have make on this way their money - mostly mobile games).

Their short term plan is , seemingly, milk the game for all it's worth then let it die. Look at Deathgarden and this game. They have no idea how to balance a game properly.

I just think it comes down to upper management really not caring about their game. Space Coconut had a great video on this a little while ago. They refuse (or are too stupid) to fix game breaking bugs, re-balance killers that really need it (like Bubba), and at the end of the day, care far more about money than their customers' desires. Just look at the most recent "event" .

Their recent actions indicate that the goal is to earn money with new players as fast as possible, and that it doesn't matter much if other players leave. That's not a plan to keep a game growing long-term.

This game being a casual party game is wasted potential. Like @ABannedCat said, if DbD was balanced for esports, this game would become so much bigger and BHVR could make an insane amount of money.

Seriously, I have no idea why the people in charge make the decisions they make.
