Going up against a swf “hit squad“
Literally one of the worst experiences of my life I was playing spirit on nurses map (they offered a map offering) I was downing people pretty fast and I was trying to “pressure gens” but they just kept pushing out gens I couldn’t do anything and on top of that they loved to tbag I mean the devs really need to do something about gens and gen time it’s ridiculous at how fast they can go against a good team and it’s really starting to push me off of killer it’s just a horrible experience and I’m at the point where I just dread playing killer

Spirit is one of the killers who can actually deal with the imbalance. She is currently hard to play because of the sound nerfs ... bugs, though.

That’s why I’m playing her (on ps4) where you go up against a lot of swf but these survivors were obviously top tier and great at pushing gens out even tho I was ending chases pretty fast it just gets so frustrating bc the devs seem to not even care

Ok, be honest with yourself OP.
How often do you really come across squads like this vs squads you just 4k?
I know im only a rank 5 killer atm but man are there many many many potato rank 1's I face (thanks matchmaking) and 4k against.
Dont let 1 co-ordinated sweaty af squad like that throw you off, you cant reaaally do well against those unless you are good enough to slug and slug and slug some more and expect and punish the obvious Unbreakable they will be running.

If devs increased gen time then they would also have to increase the time it takes a survivor to die on the hook as well since fast gen times is the only thing that makes camping and tunneling not a viable option against higher ranks.

How often do you face Moris, Iridescent Head Huntress, Pinky finger Clown? I assume not that much but still think it should be addressed. Some of the excuses for not nerfing prayer beads was that it's a very rare add-on so it wasn't that common.

As rare as people like to say these groups are, they come up pretty often at rank 1.

If this was one of the "worst experience in your life", I can only say that either I envy you, or you're being a tad bit overly dramatic.
Squads of that kind are exceedingly rare even among tryhards. If that bothers you that much, I suggest you dodge lobbies with 2+ toolboxes until those get nerfed, which is something the devs said are going to look into next. Using the Spirit, you should be able to deal with all other situations.
Correct. It's already an issue when forever builds are employed and considering all the ways that exist to work around BT.
They wouldn't as in they wouldn't be forced to, but it would be very unwise to overlook the issue.
It should be addressed and the toolbox rework will hopefully be a step in the right direction. Fingers crossed. However, let me point out that, with the exception of Pinky Finger, all of the situations you mentioned are fairly common. Alongside instasaw Billy, infinite tier 3 Myers and black incense Plague. The better the rank, the better the builds you will run into on average.

I can only speak for PC myself but I check the players in all my lobbies and the SWF groups are much more common than their stats say.

Yup I play on ps4 and i pretty much only play spirit now because I can’t enjoy the killers I actually enjoy

this game just gets so frustrating sometimes and ya losing is suppose to happen but that’s not losing that’s game imbalance I wanna lose to people that outplay me that win because I messed up not because gens are to fast

well that would be a weak argument as prayer beads was used by just about every Spirit ever.
Apart from that, notice how your examples are all killer things, 1 player choosing to run something to give them an immense advantage, that is something we can indeed talk about.
but a squad of 4 individual players playing together optimally... 1. you just dont come across that a lot and its about player skill/knowledge more so then items/perks, more so then actual game balance.
and 2, how do you balance for that without making the remaining 99% of the game not way too ez for killers?
OP merely talked about a good team of players beating him and being kinda unfairly good, we know about this already, you bring up specific items which is not what we are talking about.

This is my biggest gripe as well and quite infuriating. I want to lose from getting outplayed as well, but instead right now we have games where you win every chase <15 seconds and still lose just because gens are too fast. It feels cheated. You also get the tbags and flashlight flicks on top of it mocking you in a game you lost that should have been won and they did nothing but hold M1 efficiently.

Sweaty SWF is pretty much the norm on PS4. At least on my region.

Yes and I get that, but that is kinda not something that can be adressed, if a team is super sweaty try harding to "win" you gotta take your 1 - 2 kills, heck 2 kills and 2 deaths is kinda what behavior intended anyway.
Hook 1 survivor and camp them I guess, or proxy camp, run NoeD for extra powarrrr, there are ways to sorta mitigate this a bit.
The problem is just that if you were to adjust anything so you as a killer could do well against such an optimal squad, then every other squad, every sub optimal squad which make up 99.9% of the game, would not stand a chance.

The difference here is that they would be losing because of playing bad. The alternative we have now is losing because of poor balance.
One is losing because of something in your control and the other is not.
I don't think anyone minds losing when they played bad because then it encourages them to learn and get better.

A bunch of Spirits had literally hundreds of prayer beads stocked up.
You get very rare add ons constantly as killer, Prayer Beads were not rare

They did not hit the great skill checks, they did not find the ruin, they played badly and instead of learning and getting better it was requested to be changed and that demand was so great the devs agreed.

Oh well that's because the survivor side has been coddled for so long there's a lot of entitlement built up that has to be weened down over time. The bandaid has to be ripped off at some point.

I just faced a swf with 4 DSs, 2 resiliences, 1 rainbow map, 2 keys. They were 3 red ranks and 1 purple, I'm currently rank 9 (I usually stay around red ranks, but I got a break). I was playing spirit and got 3k. She is still one of the best killers in the game.

These hit squads existed before ruin. Now that I’ve moved past it, I think Ruin just let killers faceroll the lesser teams but did nothing in cases like OPs. You telling me you’ve never been trucked by one of these squads with Ruin as a perk?
These squads can 💯 be beaten. I wonder how many killers just give up during mid game.

If they are very altruistic you can use it against them. Then they just dc knowing they got outplayed.

On console I don't think people know just how many people play on swf.
BHVR will have this information and refuse to acknowledge any balancing issues with swf never mind swf sweat squads

Just switch and play some survivor so you can see it from the other side a bit. It may help you as killer or help you realize they are just trying to have fun too.
It sucks when you run into swf that are coordinated and highly skilled. Pretty much gg from there. Almost impossible to beat but I think pretty rare to find.
Just like you want that 4k they want to get everyone out. Remember it's just a game try to have fun with it

Well then you know it goes both ways. Sometimes things go your way and you dominate. Sometimes the other side does. It's the unknown that makes each match exciting in a game that doesn't really change match to match.

I agree that killer is the more stressful role. But I'd say as killer I win 75 to 80 percent of games with at least 3ks.
It's those rare squads that are tough. Randoms are a cake walk.
That's one of the main reasons i play survivor now. I want to be that good as those i play against.

Well your in the minority if you disagree that gens go to fast and swf is pretty strong even when you pressure gens games can end in 4 minutes idk about you but that’s not fun

I'm sorry, but if a clown manages to HIT you with the bottle, theyve earned the exposed imo. Thise are harder than hatches to throw at a target.

No I'm not disagreeing about gens being able to be done really fast. I know this is true against really good players.
But there are still plenty of potatoes as well that make easy 4ks. Sometimes no one is on a gen and all of them go for the hooked 1.
But against optimal opponents it's pretty much gg. I just don't think they are that prevalent

What happens more often is people losing and deciding that the team was super sweaty optimal SWF. When in reality they aren’t as good as they think or had a couple missed opportunities that cost them momentum.
I say this because I used to do the same, I NEVER lost a fair game it was always busted perks, addons and sweaty SWF. Then I started paying attention to my gameplay and realized I wasted time on chases, lost mind games, and other mistakes.

You don't have to be a 4man SWF death squad to rick roll killers at rank 1. Even just a decent 4 SWF group that is semi competent can fit the critera with how lop sided maps are.

When you say "more often" what are you basing this on? Do you have a video compilation or are you assuming?

I rewatch my games against those groups and look at all my games as even an entirely solo survivor where the killer got destroyed regardless of ending chases extremely fast. They lose to us random solo's a lot because we were simply efficient in holding M1 on gens, not because they got outplayed a lot. 30 second chases sure, that's costing you, but if most chases are sub 15 seconds and they're still getting destroyed there's an issue.

That doesn't matter your point lacks fundamentals.
It shouldn't have to come to the point where any survivor swf is at that level before it needs to be adressed, it shouldn't be possible in the first place.

Watch streamers, like almost any streamer that plays killer and pay special attention to their losses.
For a specific reference involving myself Whenever I play against a TTV I usually follow their link AFTER the game and watch a replay if they have it.
One played spirit and his remarks all game were, “these guys are obviously all together,” well actually solo, solo and a two man SWF.
“They must be stream sniping they always avoid the grab,” nope sorry sir but two of us actually had Spine chill which I always run base.
“Look at this SWF meta squad.” I checked the after match screen and two players didn’t even have an exhausting perk. Only myself ran DS and literally ZERO had Adrenalin or BT.

I faced a 3-man swf one today, one of them even changed their name to Almo_2011 [bhvr] (a dev's name). One them was flashlight click spamming me any time I chased them. Add that one to the several other "worst gaming experiences" I've had with this game.
I immediately switched to Survivor, and then ended up in their lobby. Dodged that lobby right quick.

I like how i'm starting to see more people respond to these kinds of threads with "You can do it, I believe in you, keep trying". Now more than ever. I guess you can tell that the entitled survivors finally feel threatened, maybe if we're lucky they will balance the game to give Killer the power role again.
