Camping at any spot takes no skill. Be it behind a pallet, at a hook, or ontop of someone.
But neither does running in a brain dead circle loop.
The skillful parts in the game mostly come in forms of mind games, tactics and proper placement of your plans. Camping can play a part in that, depending on WHAT type of camping we're tlaking about.
I don't do it though because the chase is the funnest part of the game, same with hide and seek periods and camping denies me both.

Was anyone arguing about skill?
I'll go a step further: Dead by Daylight doesn't take skill.
Who cares? It's a video game. Have fun.

I dont think anyone has unironically said otherwise my dude

Fun? On DbD? You've lost your damn mind

Camping is skilled based because you need to know when to camp.
If you are facing great survivors, camping at a bad time can result in you losing a lot of generators. 😁

I'm not going to change your mind...
It doesn't take skill, but just like in many horror movies and a monster/killer trying to kill people, do you ever sit there and say "Now that's unfair why can't he just leave so they can get rescued?". 😀

Gen rushing takes no skill. Change my mind.

You'd think you'd see more hag players due to how popular camping is to capitalize on that, especially since they had to buy her to play with ruin.
I always found that weird how rare she is.

Camping is a relaxing game for Leatherface.

Because, like a lot of other people here, I like complaining :^)

Also, stealing and killing are bad. And the sky is blue.

This.
Also, what does it's skill requirement have to do with anything?

What do you mean with "skill"? Mechanical skill? Skill in general?
Yeah, "mindlessly" hard camping at 5 gens and continuing even if no one comes and gens pop makes little sense (unless someone's "playing for salt" or gambling on over-altruism I guess), but knowing when it makes sense to camp or not is a type of skill just like knowing when to give up on a chase or knowing when it's better to heal vs doing other stuff while staying injured.

Camping shows the skill of survivors, if they can deal with it.

Holding m1 takes no skill.
Unhooking with BT without risk takes no skill.
DS takes no skill.
Pressing Dead Hard key takes no skill.

To be honest I would still play dead by daylight if there was no killer ie nobody to chase loop or hook you etc.
Just make a killer that's the environment. Like there's still someone piloting the environment in the killer role but a pallet could come to life and injure the survivor, generator could explode and injure, exit gate door could fall on someone for an instant kill etc.
Maybe its time to think away from the hook entirely.

you could argue knowing when to use dead hard (for distance or to dodge a hit)takes skill.

But they won't. Theyll just say you're wrong.
