There is no hints or official statements on what the next Killer will be.
Since the previous two Killers before The Oni were licensed and than The Oni, being non-licensed, came out makes this entirely unknown to what the next Killer will be. It's best to just leave it up to fate and wait for a possible hint or trailer from the DBD Twitter in the future.
At the moment though, nobody knows and it's hard to make a theory off of literally nothing...

There was a throwaway, but very specific comment in the last stream, referring to the Lament Configuration.

Well, one of the devs mentioned something about the killer being able to completely ignore loops, and one of the lines of code hint directly at "the smasher", that one killer they scraped because it was too broken.

Honestly, I would love to see Killer Klowns lol I love licensed stuff. I'm okay with "the smasher" being next but I think the name sucks lol I think the devs said they would throw us off on the next one so maybe the "destroy breakable wall" text was placed there intentionally. Also I would love to see another surprise 1 character chapter like Ash and Leatherface.

Yeah, the chapters with one char may be interestig. Specially the Ash one, where the main char from the movie and series is not the killer, but the survivor.

Mr. X would be so cool. I recently played the resident evil 2 remake and Mr. x was terrifying. if he had footstep sounds from the game and the same walking animation. He would be one of the best killers in the game. Plus Leon could be included as well.

Not a claw or anything, just a fist to the face, and that's kind of what Mr. X is all about.

Im from old school RE2 since PS1 in the 90s, and I memorized every speech in the game back then.
Would be very cool to see Claire or Leon as survivors! And that big Mister X is monstrous. Kkk

It would actually be cool to get the Remastered version of Mr. X with the suit and updated look.
The closest thing we have to that is The Wraith with his Oprah skin, but mostly the body part without the cape.

I guess Demogorgon is supposed to be "Alien" but he's more inter-dimensional than an Alien.

Yeah, hes more extra-dimensional than alien. Maybe if they bring a xenomorph (if i got the meaning of this word right), they will maybe try the Predator or the Alien. Cause, for instance, Stranger Things is more a sci-fi than a terror series... actually, its not a terror series. So, Predator and Alien are fit for the job. :) imo

Right, Demogorgon fits more as an "Inter-Dimensional being" than an Alien, since an alien can be defined as an extraterrestrial which literally means "of or from outside the earth or its atmosphere."
So in a sense, The Demogorgon doesn't fit as an Alien from a lore stand-point and a literal stand-point. So yes, The Predator or The Xenomorph would fit as an Alien type Killer.

We may not even get either because of licensing issues.
Also, it's entirely up to BHVR on what they want for the next Chapter and Chapters after 15. So we may never get a RE or other Triple A title game Chapter, but who knows.

For licensed content quite a few people are thinking we might get a Resident Evil chapter next with Nemesis leading the charge. Mainly because of the "wall breaker" leak and some possible(strong emphasis on possible) hints from the devs on our next killer "not caring for loops" and having a splash damage ability that could down multiple people and can "even down people in other games". That's all complete tinfoil hat speculation though.

That's mostly going off of leaked info which is inter-changeable and might I add NOT official at all. Not to be that guy, but I personally hate when conversations go off of leaked information, mainly because it's, like I said, not official news that BHVR gave out themselves and shouldn't automatically be treated as such despite it being said through speculation.
Again, unless they got the license for RE2 than I doubt this would happen. As for the "Wall breaker" speculation I also doubt it's what people think it is. But again, leaked info... so... not really going to continue mentioning it since it isn't something BHVR said themselves.

I get where you're coming from, leaked stuff is extremely 50/50. I personally want to believe it... mainly because I'm all in on a RE chapter at this point and yes, I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment. xD
Why RE2 though, I truly think IF we are getting something Resident Evil, then it'll probably be RE3. Simply to help both companies out more. DBD players would try out PR more and of course, DBD would see a HUGE boost in players probably equal or slightly less than Stranger Things. Also, I get you could say PR would be competition but I personally don't see it. Yes they're asymmetrical games but the actual gameplay various incredibly.

I also don't understand why people believe it's going to be RE related because of that leak, a "Wall Breaker" power implies many things and the wording itself could easily mean something else.
In a sense, I doubt because Mr. X periodically does that... means it's going to be RE related and that's just more so from the hopes of the RE fans such as yourself. While it would be cool and i'm all for it, i'm just in doubt that it's the case. If they somehow acquired the license for RE and it does turn out to be RE related than i'm all for it.
Again though, I doubt this because Capcom usually has issues when giving out their license to others, but I think every game company is like that at this point. (This last part could be wrong and they're extremely generous with their license, but it usually comes with their expectations as well... which is another issue)

I just remembered something ive read about the next RE game. It will be a "dbd" style game: survivors against killer, pvp only.
Yeah, dbd created an entire style of game, and looks like that RE owners rather to make their own pvp survival terror than let dbd get their killers or survivors.
So, for now, i think RE is not a viable option in DBD.
And i think its a bad move from RE developers, as much as Jasons game was. Keep it simple. Keep it as it works. Dbd works. Its not like FPS games that have an easy formula to copy and just change graphics and storyline. Dbd has a complex game dynamics and too much variables. BHVR has an unique "know how" after 4 years. Other pvp survival terrors, tho, try to invent too much to be different from dbd, turning then into failed games.

I mean that's essentially what it boils down to, I feel it's because of the dedicated fan-base and constant stream of content that makes DBD stand above the rest.
This is where most "clones" fail, they try to be too innovative and it just doesn't click with people like DBD has. I'm not sure why others try to copy this idea, if they want to join in on it than they should pitch their idea to DBD, it would be welcomed with open arms and DBD would gain more content as a result.
It's been a long time (in game years) that DBD has been up and running, and I do appreciate the Devs interest and drive to really keep this game going for as long as it stays alive. I don't see it slowing down anytime soon as well, so that's good to know.

Actually, at least from what I've seen, Capcom has no issue giving out their IP's as long as they think it "fits" and even occasionally when it doesn't. *stares at MHW:IB*
I still remember the L4D2 crossover to this day... I also remember being peeved about it being exclusive to PC. And, I'm sorry to do this because I know your stance on leaks, however, with the icon leaks that happened and it looking like a lock-on explosion, I'm keeping my hope for now. At the end of the day, it's all just fun speculation. :)

Like I always say though, yes, they're in the same asymmetrical genre and yes, it's 4V1 but that's about the end of the comparisons. It's more akin to zombie master then DBD, like, shockingly similar. Also, they've done crossovers before when they still had their own asymmetrical mode before, history might repeat itself. ;)
It is probably going to be original though which is fine still. ^_^

I mean, we have literal Spirits which is the closest thing we have to Zombies.
A Spirit is considered undead so... Wraith and Spirit are technically "Zombies" I suppose.
