Thoughts on this Dying Light change?
You become obsessed with one Survivor.
Your Obsession gains a 35% Action Speed bonus to gen repair speed and unhooking and healing other Survivors.
Each time you hook a Survivor that is not the Obsession and the Obsession is alive, gain a Token and each time you hook the obsession, lose a token.
No matter if the Obsession is alive, all Survivors get a stack-able 3/4/5 % penalty to Repair, Healing, and Sabotage speed for each Token.
You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

#########. No. 35% to repair speed is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much. The perk would be 1000% worse from that change alone. Dying light is fine right now as is. No need to change what ain't broke

I think it's fine right now, just needs to slow down the obsession (maybe 1% to repairs and healing per token?)

Its a no from me. 35% gen speed for 2% percent more for stack? That isn't even worth until you have 7 stacks which is a very good scenario and the game would've been ended before that, because the obsession has 35% bonus gen speed.
So, to sum up, this perk makes a survivor have 35% bonus speed in repairing and you need to ignore him for it? It's the same as ignoring a survivor with the quickest toolbox that exists...

I think adding gen was necessary since now the tokens effect the obsession. Also the perk is no longer dead post obsession death.

Doesnt matter. Early game the perk will ######### you over so fast you won't be able to get enough hooks to counter it. You would need 7 hooks on 3 guys to take away that buff. You will lose almost every game in this situation if you leave the obsession alone.

That would be absolutely insane and definitely worse than before.

The math should work out to 2 stacks overwhelms the negative.
5% x2 x 4 is -40% total with +35% to just obsession.

They'd just camp the obsession after getting a few tokens. Hook everyone else a few times, go for the obsession and camp them to death so you only lose 1 token

No that gen speed boost to much

That was actually a point of debate in my head too it isnt entirely necessary tbh but i really wanted to balance around it effecting the obsession now.

Why don't you like Dying Light right now?

The problem with it is that those 40% are scattered between all survivors. I would give it a try IF it didn't affect gen speed that much. Even 10% gen speed and 35% to others is kinda unbalanced.
Only with testing i can tell 100% if i like it or not. But for starters, not with that much gen speed increasing.

It's current version is fine it's original version wasn't healthy when paired with an ivory mori

You basically lose a perk when the obsession dies/dcs.

For a quick comparison, the Engineer’s Toolbox, the fastest repairing toolbox is a 25% bonus.
Also, I’m not sure if this helps with their design vision for the perk. Dying Light got changed from a tunneling perk to the complete opposite.
And while this effect is similar, there’s a very clear incentive to immediately tunnel down the obsession.
Maybe not hook them, but definitely slug them to prevent them from exploiting such an insane bonus.

You don't even get it back if the obsession changes?

Bruh no
Can't we just have the tokens affect the obsession instead of trying to add unnecessary things on like how legion got a bunch of nerfs when he probably only needed 2 or 3 of them

Original Dying light granted the obsession a 33-50% bonus to all actions, in return the killer just had to kill the obsession to earn the benefit of the perk. This was the problem with the perk and why it was changed to its current state, fitting in more with the other 2 perks it came with.
What you want to do is literally make the perk a survivor buff only. Your suggestion makes the perk way more of a hindrance, since there's too many factors a killer player can't stop from happening. You wouldn't be able to get stacks fast enough to actually have any effect if one player gets a 35% speed increase on gens + multiple survivors on a generator + any other gen repair speed perks + toolbox's, would just make the perk utterly useless before you could get any effect.
Thus the original design of the perk having the condition being kill the obsession, since if you didn't you would basically have a hard game.
If you really, REALLY, wanted this change, you would have to revert the perk back to its original state OR the obsession dies on first hook or is mori-able on first down granting the killer the ability to remove the buff when they see fit. But even with that, it still doesn't make your suggested design change any better.
Dying light is fine as it is.

Well I like that Dying Light fits the obsession perk theme of letting them watch their mates suffer, and that it's not a Thanataphobia copy. The penalty should at least be reduced on the obsession.

Killing the obsession early means you get less stacks. Killing the obsession later means they get more benefit. How about the only change being lose one stack on obsession hook + works post obsession death?
1 -
Hmm I like this...you still won't get stacks after the obsession dies right?
0 -
Correct. Only gain while obsession is alive

I believe this would be the wording. Correct me if im wrong

All it needs now is for the debuff of speed to affect the obsession as well. The only downside should be the altruism speed increase for the obsession, that's enough.
0 -
That's it.

Id assume the average game would become 15%/20% (3/4 stacks with no obsession hooks)

How about you all stop asking for nerfs to killers and their perks. Git Gud.

Im a killer main?

How is "it works post obsession death" a nerf. Unless you only read the first post and havent been keeping up with the entire conversation.

They were suggesting a buff. I guess people aren't given special profile icons for no reason. Red icon users are very helpful!

If I'm using DL, I already slug the obsession when they're on death hook. if I lose a token just for hooking them, they'd be slugged the entire match.
0 -
Yeah to buffing the obsession which is a nerf to the perk for the killer. You already try to keep your obsession alive and they want to give them a 35% bonus to gens for the obsession.

I saw this under my recommended articles page on Google and my first thought was DYING LIGHT 2!
