The Legion's power has too many drawbacks.

Feral Frenzy, the Legion's power, has a bunch of drawbacks. Some of them do not make any sense. This is my attempt to categorize them and maybe get some of them removed.

First, we have the drawbacks that essentially make sense but aren't appropriate considering how weak Feral Frenzy is right now:

  • You can not see survivors' scratch marks and blood pools in Feral Frenzy
  • Missing an attack ends Feral Frenzy
  • Feral Frenzy can not be activated unless the power gauge is filled completely
  • The cooldown animation when coming out of Feral Frenzy is extremely long
  • The Deep Wound timer does not go down while running or mending

These next ones don't make any sense to me because Feral Frenzy wouldn't be cheesy or even noticably more powerful without these drawbacks. They are just annoying to Legion players and especially weird for new players to wrap their heads around:

  • While in Feral Frenzy, hitting a survivor that is already afflicted with Deep Wound ends Feral Frenzy and drains the power gauge completely
  • Hitting a survivor while Feral Frenzy is not active depletes the power gauge by 50% of its maximum


When the Legion was released, they could actually down survivors with their power so some drawbacks were necessary. However, Feral Frenzy is one of the weakest powers in the entire game right now, even when used perfectly. Even removing all of these drawbacks would probably only push the Legion into high mid-tier. It is just baffling to me how one of the weakest killers in the entire game can simultaneously have the most significant power drawbacks.

So please, for the sake of making the Legion at least somewhat viable, remove the last 2 drawbacks I mentioned and maybe one or two of the ones mentioned above those. I can't imagine that being too hard to code.

    Not everything in the game has to be done according to how it works in red ranks though.

    The thing is that most of these things don't even give more options to the survivors, they just punish the killer for pressing M2. Especially non-red-rank killers will have a lot of trouble playing the Legion to their full potential (which is still low).

    I don't know man, having a character that sprints a survivor down is kind of op. I don't like going against legion.

    You're right, Feral Frenzy has a lot of potential. However, the fact that you can't down people in your power and you have to suffer through a long slowdown after coming out of it already ensure that it isn't op. I understand why it would seem that way to a survivor but Feral Frenzy doesn't even come close to being strong. Good survivors can just split up to prevent the Legion getting multiple hits (even increasing their generator efficiency at the same time). You also need to consider that the Legion is basically powerless when chasing an injured survivor. Most killers can use their powers in chases even though it's not their main usage (for example, Billy can chainsaw during chases, Pig can ambush to mindgame, Ghostface can hide his red stain). Legion however just has to catch survivors with the standard kit that most killers have. Good survivors can easily juke a Legion for ages and force them to chase someone else.

    With the power having this little potential, I just don't consider it reasonable to have this many bonus drawbacks to lower the power's actual effect even more.

    Sry to destroy your hopes but the devs dont care about Legion. But I have to admit that Legion is just a joke and the power is more punishing then helping.

    Legion actually gets further when not using Feral Frenzy because of that long stun at the end lmao. (Something about 8 meters further when just walking normaly)

    Unless you get good at hitting multiple pple w the same frenzy. That’s when he shines. I’d say he’s mid-low tier atm. Better than clown imo, lol.

    It's not even about getting good. You can navigate the map perfectly and you still won't be able to reach a well-positioned survivor or one that simply has Sprint Burst. Skill doesn't improve your power speed and duration.

    So Otzdarva (someone with an actual voice in this community unlike us who can just complain on forums) just mentioned this in his most recent video and he agrees. Maybe that will direct some much needed attention to this issue.

    Even as a legion player you have to agree that you shouldn't be able to hit a survivor multiple times with feral frenzy though he needs an even bigger speed boost its very annoying to hit someone run to the other side of the map then lose the power because the survivor has a sprint boost

    Or hit someone and then have them immediately start mending IN YOUR FACE, when you haven't even gone after anyone yet.. Had a Legion daily today, didn't even bother going after other targets at one point, I just double stabbed and then chased since Legion is basically an m1 killer against red ranks.. So fun as a green rank killer.

    You double stabbed, huh? This is one of my issues with the Legion. As someone who doesn't play them a lot, you're not wrong for assuming that double stabbing would probably be the right call if you aren't going to go after anything else. However, it gives the survivor another speed boost and it drains your entire power bar without doing anything for you. It's basically the worst thing you could do even though it would seem reasonable to a new player.

    There are tons of nuances like this with the Legion and it just doesn't make any sense. These things are left over from previous versions of the Legion. For example, hitting a survivor with Deep Wound used to reduce their Deep Wound Timer and it made sense for that to have some drawbacks. However, now it is already the wrong thing to do since you're giving them a speed burst and getting nothing out of it yourself. And on top of that, you even have your entire power gauge drained just as an additional punch in the face for trying to play this killer.

    In conclusion, not only does the Legion have low potential in the hands of experienced players, they also have tons of hidden traps for new players. This is unjustified and just an example of poor balance.

    Mhm.. good point. So what you're saying is, in situations like this, m1+m2 to get out of the power and retain a full frenzy bar, instead of m1+m1? Makes sense, I didn't think about that. I barely ever play Legion anymore anyway but it's good to know.

    I think ending Feral Frenzy if you miss the hit is overkill.

    I have all killers, and Legion is somehow "meh" to play just cause of that: "so ill only use his power if i dont miss", its basically a M1 killer. How much can that happen in a match that you miss the first hit? A lot.

    I'm sorry to say this but legion was reworked to his current state right now because of people abusing his powers to begin with. Had people not abused the power and didn't play the way they did the devs wouldn't have taken such drastic measures to nerf him.

    Well they should have thought of a more balanced fix, rather than turning him into an m1 killer that can vault pallets but has a super long stun time to his non-lethal power.

    The vast majority of killers go against red ranks anyway. As soon as you hit rank 12 it will start putting you in games with swf red rank teams.

    yeah and thats because their patch isn't working but the majority of the time when i play survivor with my boyfriend who is a rank 17 btw, we get put against rank 1 killers because I am a rank 4. Imagine being in his shoes because there was a patch that was suppose to make swf go against the highest rank to match your highest rank swf

    Most of that is due to how the derank is now, too.. They don't derank people enough so with each month, more and more people (who normally wouldn't) reach red ranks, thus making more and more red ranks, and since they want to give faster lobbies to everyone, they match lower ranked killers with higher ranked survivors since there's no low ranked survivors left, they're all red ranked.

    • When you pick up a survivor, during Feral Frenzy, you lose your entire power gauge.

    - You see Killer Instinct pulses after tagging someone. Using his power to get the first hit isn't exactly hard to do. Using his power to cross a large distance is the players choice and should not be rewarding a gamble by guaranteeing that they get a free track of someone that's in the area travelled to by showing blood/scratch marks.

    - It isn't hard to hit a survivor while in Frenzy, and making them have two or more attempts to tag someone will make him a nuisance to vs again.

    - The power is designed to gain intel on other survivors, if you misuse it and need to wait for it to recharge, then that's a fair punishment.

    - Ok, the cooldown could be a tad quicker, I agree on that one.

    - For what Deep Wound does now, it's required. What with Deathslinger having it attached to his power and BT becoming abusable by the killer if it did deplete while running. It makes sense that the timer pauses while Mending, since you are actively healing the effect away.

    For the two you really want changed:

    - Why would you want to hit a survivor already afflicted with Deep Wound? You give them the speed burst and distance from you instead of just entering the cooldown and chasing for the down. As for the power gauge depleting, that makes sense too. Because technically it is a misuse of it, in a stretch, you may as well have whiffed for all the good it does you. That one makes complete sense why it exists.

    - Hitting a survivor outside of Frenzy depleting the gauge by a percentage makes sense, because it prevents Legion from downing someone and immediately going off to tag someone else and get insane slug pressure. I would hate it if more killers were 'encouraged' to slug by the mechanics of their power.
