RANCORE RAMPAGE
can we talk about this AWFULLY THOUGHT OUT challenge? Not because it’s hard, because people will RAGE QUIT the SECOND they get hit with rancore knowing what the challenge is. Why add this challenge without adding a DC pentalizer. I just don’t understand what’s going on in their office lmao. I’ve done this 3 times and each time they rage quit.
and what’s funny is that they can do it with NO repercussions. Because there’s not a Ban system or anything.
Rant over. DbD is definitely dying on a lot of us bc of the constant rage quitters. And why shouldn’t they rage quit? They won’t get banned. Might as well punish the killer :) No wonder the queue time for survivor is 20-25 minutes long.

I used an ebony Mori for that archive. Got it out of the way very fast.

I did it on my first try and it's the first time I used rancor. Just bring a green mori and kill your obsession. Why is everyone so dramatic about these challenges they're a joke

because i didn’t even know you could do that. I closed the hatch but ofc it doesn’t proc rancor but it procs NOED. It’s just the inconsistency with the game is why we are “dramatic”.

Not really. the only reason it’s challenging is because you can rage quit with no repercussions as survivors lol. All the other ones I got at first try.

So you can really just mori the obsession with an ivory/ebony? I thought i had to let them finish all gens and then Mori the obsession using the perk.

It says kill your obsession by your hand while using the perk rancor. Doesn't say use rancor to kill your obsession. Yes it works I did it today.

Wish @Peanits would say if they’re working on a penalize system. This is really sad at this point lol. It’s been years of this. I’m a survivor main and I see it happen ALL the time because they won’t get banned.

i've only DC'd once to prevent a rancor, but that's cause the killer trapped me in a corner for half the game and camped my slugged body for the other half. So I got revived by a good team mate, and narnia'd into a locker.

My problem was that I think the survivors were either friends or at least coordinated enough to realize what was going on, because with three survivors left I was chasing the obsession and the other two refused to do the last gen. I dragged the chase out by "missing" and hitting bushes and fences and crap, but after waaaaay too long I just hooked and killed the three remaining survivors, giving up on completing the Rancor challenge that match.
Dunno why they'd rather all three of them die than let me kill the one, but whatever, that was their choice.

that happened to me one match where the obsession ALMOST bled out because they really wanted to save them rather than finish gens. ofc when the last gen popped they saw the rancor thing and immediately DC’ed.

I mean, I have no issues taking a death. I have no issues losing a game. I don't even mind being camped. What I do have issues with is being body blocked in a corner while you deliberately ignore other survivors and gens popping in the background, just to target me. Just like they made me sit there all game for nothing, I made them sit there all game for what ultimately turned out to be nothing. My team mates all got out. I made sure of that by waiting until the end of the game.

I think its more the way killers are going about it. I’ve noticed they’ll just spend the duration of the last gen hovering around the obsession. I think that is tilting some people, that based on random chance (of being the obsession) they’re now not allowed to leave and the killer will give away a few free escapes to secure the kill.

Well, that doesn’t excuse anything tbh. If you play this game you have the chance of becoming the obsession and rancor obsession, so you need to take it and just deal with it. There’s no excuse tbh. just move on and deal with it.

YALL SHE RAGE QUIT DURING THE ANIMATION BUT I GOT IT. imagine if she were a second sooner though, then i wouldn’t have gotten it. I think we all agree this game NEEDS TO PENALIZE RAGE QUITTERS.

Also just a PSA; I LOVE this game. I have been a fan since the DAY it released on steam in 2016. I want this game to prosper and i’m so proud of everyone who’s working their butt off @Peanits @not_Queen I just want this game to do amazing and keep being healthy and strong. If i come off the wrong way i apologize i just get upset that toxic players get away with so much and i don’t want that to be the impression new players have with DBD. I want to work for BHVR and i love this company. I only post so bluntly because i want them to see everything and know everything that’s going on from a HUGE dedicated fans POV. Pls keep this game running and prospering and i love y’all. okay i’m done ❤️

I disagree. If you play like an ######### and ruin the game for four people by camping one on the ground all game for a challenge, you deserve to have one DC on you and cost you it. Earn it instead of trying to cheese it.
This is the basement sacrifice challenge all over again. If you just camp and tunnel at the basement all game, you have to expect that one of the four pissed off people will do something to punish you for it.
Honestly? I'll take a time out to punish someone for being a prick. Not just going to give you a challenge for free. Earn it.

Try comboing Rancor with nemesis for extra fun, lol. I remember using rancor on one guy, while his teammate T-bagged uring the animation because the exit gates were open. He then flashlight blinds me for more points...only to switch obsession because of nemesis and catch the rancor himself, lol.

Finishing all the gens and leaving right away is stupid anyway. Guaranteed depip and crap points. Not to mention dull. I break every totem I see and will open at least one chest for an item if I see one as I never bring my own unless a challenge requires it.
When I get those "escape as so-and-so" rituals and challenges, I just play the game normally with that survivor until I complete it.
When I go for the rancor challenge this weekend, I will play normally until I get the kill. That's with no camping, no tunneling, no BS. I don't expect it to take too long.
People are more inclined to punish you for toxic play. Forcing one survivor to be tunneled all game for the kill ruins the game for them and the other three. Of course they're going to punish you for it. They hate you.
Really not that difficult to understand. Don't be a dick and people will respond in kind. Act like a jerk and people will treat you like one

Ever since Oni was released, I always run Nemesis and Rancor together. In the match I mentioned, the other two survivors seemed like they were avoiding triggering Nemesis, especially since one had a flashlight and never used it, but that could just be a coincidence.
In the next match, they actually did trigger Nemesis and I was able to Rancor someone who wasted every pallet on the map. In that match, there was only one other survivor left and she just finished the last gen and ran out as fast as possible. I liked her very much lol.

I was memeing around with Wraith one day and just waiting by the exit gates the whole match with Rancor, just hoping that between the 2 gates...the obsession would go to mine. Had a match where that did NOT happen, but the Jake that did show up...had fire crackers. Im sure I dont have to explain the rest.

I used Myers with Spirit Fury, Enduring, Rancor and Nemesis and paired it with Tombstone piece and Judiths Journals. You'll get multiple attempts to mori your obsession this way

Read the challenge carefully, you don't have to hit the obsession with rancor, just Mori anyone while while having Rancor equipped.

I wish I had Nemesis for this challenge. I may play as ghostface for Furtive chase, that way if I can atleast get a hook during the end game and 'let the rescue happen' whoever unhooks the person becomes the obsession and within my reach.

NOED is "when the gates are powered"
Rancor is "when the gens are completed"
closing the hatch powers the gates; it does not finish the gens.

Except furtive chase only makes the rescuer the obsession when the person on the hook was your old obsession.

Why wouldn't you allow Rancor's mori effect work as NOED? It would make a match ending more cinematic if a killer manages to leave and get the obsession.
