Why do killers have so many counters ?
survivors have so many ways to counter the things killers do such as camping, tunneling and slugging . meanwhile killers have .... slowdown perks(the majority of them are horrible excluding pop)
Most killer perks have counters too
also most (yes I said most not all ) killer perks you have to work towards such as pop, play with your food , stbfl and many more.

Hmm countering gen focusing, items, pallets, exhaustion perks, and windows doesn't count? Damn.
Memes aside, I personally like that killers encourage survivors to play differently.

There are so many killers now its kinda hard to remember what each of them do. I know for some people they have all the stuff memorized but sometimes I can have staring contests with megs while playing Myers.

you're really rude. there is logical reasoning to it , I wanted to know why killers and their perks have so many counters but survivors dont.
It's not bait, there is "logical "reasoning. because if they wanted it to be balanced they would make it the same on both sides.

Theres counters to both sides. Slugging is countered by unbreakable, while aura reading perks like OoO is countered by blindness perks/addons or the undetectable status effect. DS counters tunneling (and then some, lol) while exhaustion perks like blood echo, or exhaustion addons like Clown's Solvent jug counter exhaustion perks like Dead hard. I could go on with a dozen more examples if you want.
That being said, both sides also have things that dont really have counters to them. Survivors arn't gonna be able to counter something like agitation for example since its just a sort of self buff and not really for interacting with a survivor. Same can be said for survivor buffing perks like botany knowledge. While you can attempt to hinder what the perks are providing by using sloppy butcher against the botany knowledge or body blocking a killer using agitation with more blows than if the killer DIDNT have agitation... both perks are still having a positive gain to their users.

The killers have to have counters!
This is a 1v1 game, so if I make a mistake I need room to recover. It wouldn't be fair if I were punished for it.

Well the difference is that if a survivor matched DS+Unbreakable together, it's essentially uncounterable, where you cant even touch him. Where as if I did ruin + surveillance, both are easily counter, where you break the totem, keep on the gen, and fake out the highlighted gen.

Once again, I already said some things have counters and some dont. To go into the examples provided... Whereas the best you can do against someone with DS+unbreakable is waste abit of their time and make em use the unbreakable (unless you think you can down them again quickly after a DS), survivors are in similar situations with killer perk combos like enduring+spirit fury. While you can argue to toss the pallet early and dont stun the killer, thats often times not possible with many pallets being very unsafe and their sole usefulness being to stun the killer.
The idea of both sides have perks that can be countered and both sides having perks that cant really be countered doesnt go out the window when you bring up perk combos.

Survivor mains want an easy boring game and they imagine back to a time long ago when one time they tbagged so much at the killer they forgot to open then exit gate and got killed. So they post rude comments on any post that doesnt ask for killer nerfs.
Maybe because the killer is suppose to be the bad guy so many people feel entitled to them losing idk. Dont let it get you down

Demo has an (admittedly awful) addon to cause exhaustion with his portals, and both Demo and Oni have perks that apply exhaustion in their kits

People seem to forget that the name of the game is DEAD by Daylight, not Alive at Daylight. Escaping should be a rarity, and 4-man escapes should be entirely unheard of

You forget that people play for fun, but also for winning. If survivors had almost no chance to survive, there would be no point in playing the role.

killers perks should not be on the same level as survivor perks. its 4 perks against 16

Killers should just get a six perk loadout. Or have their perks be much stronger then survivors. But its sadly the other way around.

It is neither of both.
Technically you're right but the amount of times I got killed by teammates are countless.
I'd say it is a 1v4 with swf. But with randoms it is more like an egotistical survival game with everyone against the killer but not as a team and you can't trust anyone. Sometimes it feels more like everyone vs everyone.

I thought this was gonna be about killers like how OoO can still screw with trap killers really bad, calm spirit vs doc and so on. There's a very good reasons stuff like camping/tunneling/slugging has dedicated counterperks. Even though "fun" has become some sort of dirty word to some people it makes perfect sense to put things in the game that makes those playstyles less safe and guaranteed to work.
There's certainly discussions to be had about how perks like DS and BT works, and how they synergize with other perks like Unbreakable. But the basic ideas behind the perks (help vs tunneling, camping and slugging respectively) = completely fine and understandable.

Maybe trapped at one point was the god of killers but the add-on was erased or something
