Totems make no sense?
I just played a bunch of games today (both killer and survivor). What I've noticed is that totem's life is around 15 second or less. Even or especially noed. High ranks survivors simply know where all totems are located. Besides haunted grounds every other totem perk will just be instantly removed from the game without any benefits being made out of it. It happens like 9 times out of 10. Why do we still have these silly mechanics?

Personally I think they're cool. It gives the game a bit more than just doing gens and hiding.

Yes, agree. But how about hide them a little better?

They're starting to do that more with the Lery's map. Yeah there probably one or two that are out in the open and you can see but they actually have been pretty tricky to find, even when you're looking for them. Hopefully if they rework the maps like they did Lery's, then totems will be more hidden.

No matter how well hidden totems are, good survivors will always memorize the locations. My problem is that dull totems are completely worthless other than potentially spawning NOED and extra points. I made a post a while ago thay dull totems should have like a 3% repair speed penalty for a max of 15%. That way killers get an early game and survivors have a second objective. Especially because it's so easy to implement. But I guess no one liked the idea.

They could be hidden a lot better. Even as a Survivor, I'm always surprised when one spawns right in the middle of the map in an open area.

Depends on the map. Had Ruin on hawkins earlier that lasted all game. Player had NOED too. I never saw the last 2 totems.

Older maps have terrible spawn locations for totems. Whoever was responsible for that must have hated killers.
For a totem to last you have to play a very mobile killer or Trapper with special add-ons.

Same here. Ruin and DH on Hawkins. Both hidden behind barrels. Both are fantastic spots, but I've had matches on Crotus where the Hex literally sat beside a Gen, and in the open. I literally said they might as well put some flashing lights over them too. I don't think they were quite obvious enough.

There needs to be a balance.
The one on crotus asylum is ridiculous its just sat in an open area. At the same time they shouldn’t be so well hidden that they’re never found all game.

Oh for sure. I don't mind them when they're tucked away in spots you wouldn't think to look, but as you say, in plain sight is a bad choice for totems

Yes they should! I want my Devour Hope Moris!
******not entirely serious, but would be nice for a bug to appear for a couple of weeks that made totems invisible. Would be so fun.

Such a bug would be fixed within a week or less, don't be silly.

I wondered but what if you had to cleanse 4 totems before you could leave, like a blood warden effect

You underestimate the devs! A bug like that would be fixed in a day. The forums would be filled with so much salt we would probably be able to taste it through our monitors.
It is fun and on to be silly on occasion. Let me have my fun, I don’t get enough of it irl
