Can we fix the lunge on killers please
I mainly have this problem when throwing down a pallet on the killer. I get the killer stun, but they still knock me down. Or when I'm in a chase and they know I'm going for a pallet or a window vault, they lunge for me and knock me down before I get to it.

This is normal and intended. It is fully possible to both stun the killer and go down. If in doubt about the timing, drop the pallet early. Window vaults have 3 states/types - slow and quiet (not sprinting, makes no noise) Medium (done without a run-up) and Fast (done with a run up/you hit the vault button while approaching the window)
Slow and medium vaults deliberately have very large hit boxes and you can be hit on either side of the window for a very long time during them. Only fast vaults - the type with a run up - quickly move your hit box to the opposite side of the window. Pallet vaults you're basically always getting a medium vault, hitbox wise, and also its slightly easier if the killer is thinking, to grab you out of a pallet vault.

I don't mean to sound rude when I'm saying this, but I know the vaulting system. I understand certain stuns are intended, but I'm complaining about the huge lunge killers have. I'm tired of doing so well at looping and then being taken down because of the killers long lunge. It takes no skill to get a survivor down with the lunge killers have if they have any clue what their doing.

Firstly, if you are doing well at looping, you're in absolutely zero position to even be close to going down.
Secondly - it's not the lunge you're upset about. The lunge is fine. It's the lag, which can never be completely remedied.

My only issue is getting hit through vault locations. Even playing as Killer, I feel like I've gotten a hit where I shouldn't have gotten one.

this is factually not always true. dedi hits are a thing and theres tons of evidence out there due to servers masking horrible ping. majority of pallet hit should NOT have happened

This is happened to me too as killer and confuses me immensely. It almost feels like not the last patch but the patch before this seems to be a more frequent thing. I have fast vaulted through vaults and still managed to get hit by killers at times and seems like they have rubber arms.

So... You just want to remove a killers lunge? What you're describing sounds pretty normal, and while I know some hits look BS and look like they shouldn't hit. Being able to hit through a pallet or window is completely normal and "knocking me down before I reach a window" is literally just the lunge doing what its intended to do.

I think they're fine, you can usually read if you'll get hit as a survivor or get a hit as a killer before it happens.

But why.
Making it shorter isn't going to fix the hits you're talking about, in fact its not going to fix any issues you've described of hits seeming unfair. Killers will still be able to hit you through pallets and windows. They'll also still be able to stop you reaching some windows and pallets (albeit with much more difficulty)
All its going to do is nerf the killer in an extremely unnecessary fashion. Killers will be way weaker as a result, looping will be far easier and survivors will get downed a lot less often.
It won't fix any of your issues, so if what you really want is to make the lunge shorter, you aren't asking for a solution to getting hit through pallets or windows. All you're saying is "I get downed too often" and are asking for a major killer nerf to compensate.

There is a thing called perks that killers can use. If that isn't enough to get some kills by actual skill, then Id say.. Go ahead and keep your huge lunge. But, it's annoying to get downed by a killer that may not be as good as others because of that lunge. Making it shorter will not ruin killer, it will just require more concentration. Which I feel should be required to get some kills.

No, it will make every loop extremely safe. We will have to remove a lot of loops and make the one's currently avaliable shorter and unsafe.

Sure, fix it as long as they make sure that the killers body has to be under the pallet. I can't count how many times I've been hit by a pallet when I am looking at it's edge.

We're not talking about changing the game or even getting rid of the lunge. Shortening it will not make loops extremely safe, it will just make killers have to put a little more effort in their chase.

It will make loops safer. If the Killer's cannot hit you, the loop will continue.
That means at least 4 loops out of shack.

Players already loop shack more times than needed. The loop won't change, hits will just be more accurate.

Distance. That's the key word here. There should be no distance from a killer to a survivor when they are going for a hit. Looping will stay the same. I just want things to be more realistic.

This has nothing to do with killer lunge at the pallets and windows. What you are experience is hits from lag attributed to dedicated servers.

That's somewhat true. But, an example being; say I'm being chased by a doctor ๐ค I'm running to vault a near window or whatever, he's chasing me but he's not close enough to hit me until he LUNGES WAY ahead and smacks me through the stupid window ๐

Loops are currently in survivor favor by quite a large margin. If anything they need to be nerfed, many do.
I think the issue is just that with practice you'll be able to gauge their lunge distances better to know what pallets or windows you can and can't make.

If you actually play safe around MOST loops, you shouldn't ever be hit. Judging from what you are saying, you are around a 500 hour player. Skilled, but not outstanding. I'm in the same boat.
Fixing loops takes time, the goal is to make them all like Hawkins or similar to Hawkins.

Sadly, I already know when I'm gonna get hit when I shouldn't which still convinces me that lunge is too large. I'm just glad loops are in the survivors favor because killers have a big advantage already with their perks. Not complaining about killers.. Just saying their perks help them out a ton.

Survivor perks are much stronger than killer ones.
I'm not having any issues on survivor of lunges being too long. The only lunge problems right now are related to ping on dedicated servers through pallets and windows.

Sadly I probably have more than 500 hours, I just switched platforms recently and I quit for awhile ๐ and playing it safe usually gets me killed ๐ this game is about being quick and smart.

You could say it from both sides. Alot of hits killers should get don't happen in certain situations just cause of autoaim or other reasons(not just hits but bs pallet stuns/really late head ons/etc that worked cause of the dedi servers). Like @LordGlint taught me alot of arguments have a two way street. Edit: I know head ons don't have to do with that,but i said it regardless,i hate when i already start the grab animation and someone head ons me. I just said it cause it's connected to the servers which is the reason lunges might feel weird. I also forgot to add,sometimes you try to dodge a pallet stun,and are really far away and it still stuns you cause of the servers. Same with pallet saves,they can happen when a survivor is really far from under a pallet.

Good survivors know the limits of the killer's power and how to work around that. Good loopers know when to drop the pallet so that they don't get hit, and they know when the killer is too close for them to successfully vault a window. Yes, killers could use perks to make up the difference if their lunge were nerfed. Equally, survivors like yourself can use perks that improve vault speed or give a second chance in chases to compensate for any difficulties they might be having dealing with the lunge as it is now.
I know it sounds harsh to put it this way, but what you're saying does essentially boil down to "killers should be nerfed because I can't loop them well enough". Just because you don't have the skill to outplay something doesn't mean it's a broken mechanic. The answer is to work on improving your skills, not insist that the mechanic be nerfed.

This thread is basically, "Help, I am new and can't loop the killer at a pallet which is already in my favour. Please nerfs killers, so I don't need to learn."

Killer lunges are alright. The thing that you should be more annoyed with is the connection. Like you said about the pallets, if a killer hits you after you lay the pallet down, that's complete bs that shouldn't have been able to hit.

Don't have the skill to outplay something? I can loop killers easily and get away just as easy. I'm saying they can get a hit that is definitely not deserved because of the long lunge. Not saying I'm going down because of it, just saying they are getting hits that they really should not have gotten.

Making the lunge shorter would be awful for killers. I'm guessing you're new and/or a survivor main so I'd let you off about not knowing exactly what that change would do but it would make killer feel really bad to play. Wraith and Spirit had bugged lunges recently and they both felt terrible to play and now they're fine. It's there to close distance and to punish survivors who are greedy with pallets and windows. It comes with practice and playing the game but you'll eventually know exactly when the killer can hit you. Just throw pallets earlier, they're on the map for a reason.

The lunge is fine, you can get hit when stunning the killer and when the survivor looks like the vault animation is done. If you are asking for the lunge distance to be shorter then killers will be in pain at loops more than they already are.

So basically, even though you, and therefore probably most good survivors, can loop killers and escape them "easily" (meaning that the killers who you're facing can only catch you with enormous difficultly), killers should be nerfed even further to the point where it's practically impossible for them to catch those good survivors, and the reason for that is because visual consistency is more important than mechanical balance?

If they make the lunge shorter then the loops will be longer. NGL you sound like you got greedy at a loop and got punished for it. Try throwing pallets earlier or dead hard.
