Why are killers so dumb?

I don't mean people who play killers I mean killers themselves.

They don't know how to shut their eyes to avoid flashlights.
The Trapper isn't smart enough to step through his own traps (though survivors can crawl through them no problem).
They strike a survivor and then take a few seconds...to wipe off their blade or wiggle their fingers or...#########?
They never catch on to decisive strike and just take it to the face over and over instead of, you know, holding on tighter.
They never turn their necks. If they want to look right or left they have to Herman Munster it and turn their entire bodies.
And on and on and on...

I know the simple answer, game balance! But come on, is this the best the devs could do to represent these situations? It just seems lazy to me. Anyway, that's been a bee in my bonnet all day and I just wanted to get it out.

You forgot the top 1 there legs are weak as hell except to pallets. Someone crouches at legs can't even kick them down and stab them.

Survivors can't jump over traps when they see them, so i guess both survivors and killers are dumb.

I blame the Entity since it seems to get amusement from screwing with both sides but mainly killers.

I don't shut my eyes to avoid blinding but look on the floor ( or survivor legs if i'm close enough ) it's working 90% of the time.

    Well...

Lol yeah I know what you mean.

Plus these hulking 7ft 300 pound killers like Leatherface can't budge past a puny 5'11 guy like Dwight

...Leatherface is really dumb sorry guys playing him. But watch the movies... He s not a genius ;)

I think all killers should be as efficient as One Punch Man.

Most can be explained by the laziness reason
And you have to realize that it has to be easy enough for survivors

i do understand why the doc cant close his eyes though...
    poor herman...

the nurse on the other side doesnt even have openings in her pillow-mask but still gets blinded...
you shouldnt ask for logic there xD

Well, have you ever closed your eyes and then shined an LED flashlight in your face?

Protip: Don't do that, it hurts.

as a killer i would love for the flashlight animation to be me covering my fricking eyes getting a black screen instead of my IRL eyes being blinded by a white screen

side note what are survivors doing on the gens cause as we know survivors see from an orb floating above and behind them and not from their actual face , are they just sticking their fingers into an engine and wiggling and hoping that this fixes it?

IKR, when they break a pallet they have to look down and lose the survivor..
Entity should pay them the school.

I never looked into sorting from the smartest killers to the least ones. Would probably have to put Doctor, Pig and Trapper on top.

But anyway, here is some other proof of "smarties":
    - Killers being unable to move the conveniently placed pallets somewhere else. Or hold them in place with their left arm when a Survivor tries dropping them.
    - The Pig being unable to remove her mask and ambush Survivors like that. I guess Clown might be able to pull this off as well.
    - Killers being unable to ACTUALLY kill Survivors without the need of offerings/perks/add-ons. If anything, you cant call them killers, just the Entity's butlers.
    - Why does pulling a lever take so long? And if you need to hold it, why not just use a stick or tape to keep it there instead of exposing yourself?

Its got to do with the horror genre in genral killers are really god damn stupid. Freddy for instance has crazy powerful dream powers and yet he will constantly fall for a survivour pulling him into the real world. Myers gets suprised attacked by laurie like 2 god damn times not once seeing it coming. If horror films had smart killers you would not have tension or drama as the killer would kill the survivours fast and efficiently.

Has the Trapper always been able to step in his own traps? That always seemed broken AF to me. Hag doesn't trigger he marks.
