DC Penalties

For real, I thought the DC penalties were supposed to be live already. I see one thing from the devs months ago about it already being in the game but I am not seeing it implemented at all.

Devs, can you PLEASE put this in the game already. I am tired of people DCing before the game even starts, in the middle of the game when they are downed for the first/second time or mori'd.

Don't disconnect, people. It's rude and it screws over your team. Especially when people are trying to get their archive challenges finished. Be considerate of others, that's all I have to say.

This definitely needs to be a thing. I'm tired of waiting forever for a match, just to have someone DC because they don't like the map.. Or the killer or whatever. Its just a way to completely screw the team and ruin the game.

And as for killers DCing... Oh my god. I absolutely hate when killers DC because players bring an offering they don't like or they don't wanna play against the four claudettes. Lol I cant deal with the DCing!! 💀😭

Agreed. Like a couple matches ago, I had someone DC on the Coldwind Farm map right when we loaded in. It wasn't even that bad of a Coldwing map either. So my friend, the random and I managed to get one gen done but otherwise we got our butts handed to use from a Trapper. It just makes the game less fun and a lot more stressful on the rest of us.

I don't understand why Killers DC to be honest. When I play Killer, if I see something I don't luck, I suck it up and play. I know how long Survivor queues are so I am not going to cheat them out of a game and make them wait 10+ more minutes for another game that could also have a killer potentially DC.

DC penalties, when they were "testing" them, were absolutely beautiful. It was rare to ever get a DC, and the salt being reaped on the Forums when someone complained about "I got my first ban, and it was an hour" was fantastic. You know they are the constant DC'er looking for a pat on the head because "It must be bugged!" Best times, best times.

Sadly, those times are gone now. I just hope they bring the DC penalties back into the game. If I rage so hard I DC from a match, I probably need to take a break, and if it's an actual emergency or the net goes out, I'll probably take longer getting back to the game than the timeout period. So win/win imo.

They removed the DC penalty because it was biting the hand that feeds them

Survivors are the cash cow of the game. The WHALES as the industry calls them.

I guess they saw a heavy decline of survivors and high ban rate so they scrapped the entire idea and literally did a 180, and are starting to cater more to the survivors.

  • I don't blame Killers who DC, and I don't blame some Survivors that DC. Just depends on the trial, and what's happening. Being that I play both almost equally, I know that there's enough toxicity to go around that will cause people to not want to play a particular match.

So, the person above me, what they are conveniently (to fit their narrative) forgetting is that yes, DCers were punished, which was great. However, there are people who suffered from bugs that have been in the game for years, including the infinite loading screen glitch, stuck in healing position glitch, stick in a tree glitch etc....all of these things forced people to either kill the DBD process or disconnect. They were then punished. For something they had zero control over.

So to answer your question truthfully, unlike the person above me, they removed the penalties so they can fix the things that cause people to get punished for no fault of their own, because you can not implement a system like this if innocent people end up as collateral damage.

Oh, I actually did not know that they were not going to implement the DC penalties. That is.... utter BS. I just didn't see this on PS4 and PC but of course, I don't DC and learn to suck it up whenever I'm Survivor or Killer.

I agree with everything you say. The only time I DC (which is rare) is if a Killer is just being absolutely horrible with tunneling and camping me the entire game. I really hope that they can do something with the DC ban and just tweak it. Ugh.

Thank you for the explanation, I appreciate it.

Which I can absolutely 100% understand too because this game is literally one huge bug. I can see where many people were getting frustrated with the bugs and needed to DC and took that into consideration.

Just wish the devs would take time to take care of the bugs in their game and do something to people who DC. Thank you for your input and honesty. I appreciate it.

I don’t have any hope in their implementation of DC punishments. Too many people DC way too often, they’d lose a lot of players if the punishments were too harsh. And if they’re not harsh enough, nothing will change. The balance between the two is a very fine line.

AKA we will never ever have a dc penalty, so quit all the games you want (as long as you are not killer)

Some of these bugs were present during the test, but have since been fixed or lessened.

I can't remember the last time i had an infinite loading screen or stuck on a tree/ healing position.
