Why cant survivors see eachothers perks in the lobby?
I mean, if we are talking about bringing SWF and Solo closer together, this seems a logical step.
It would also help for perks like Camaraderie

Dodging

While in the vast majority of cases it'd be a good thing, you'd probably get people dodging perks like No Mither or perk loadouts that make it seem like a player has a playstyle they dislike in one way or another.
I'd still want some sort of simple 1-button way to "broadcast" your loadout to the lobby though, so basically making it an opt-in system that also lets console players do it. I'm sure there'd be some people that would assume anyone not using it will by default be up to "no good" but that'd be a very tiny (and paranoid) minority 😄
1 -
It also once again buffs survivors and that’s not what we need right now. If one guy is bringing Prove Thyself it’ll give the incentive to bring a toolbox and get everything done faster. Could be a nightmare with head on too. It’s already a pain to see someone in game have No Mither let alone in a lobby. Dodge-central right there.
However, I really do agree with the Camaraderie point- I think it needs to be known when a hooked survivor has Camaraderie ready to be activated, it would make the perk so much better.

This.
I would be less inclined to want to be in that lobby if I know someone is running Object, or No Mither.

This one of the secrets of the universe.
Other ones are:
- Why is there a BP cap?
- What is the purpose of Animation Enchancement?
- Why OoO users complain about tunneling?
- Why do things like No Mither, Monstrous Shrine, Cruel Limits and Speed Limiter even exist?
- Are Splinter offerings supposed to work or not?
And these are not even all of them...
0 -
It only buffs Survivors who don't chea-- er, I mean work together, with voice chat.
The SWF's are already coordinating their perks and items. Solo Survivors can't? And you wonder why the game cannot be balanced... There are three entities on the balancing board (Killers, Survivors, and Groups with voice chat) instead of just two (Killers and Survivors).
2 -
By making this change to the perks, you’re not balancing anything. We don’t need to raise solo queue survivors to the tiers of SWF we need to do the exact opposite. I get that we need to bridge the gap more but more coordination with survivors may not be the best idea
1 -
Okay. Say you dodge that lobby. Say that every lobby this OoO or No Mither player joins dodges them. Wouldn't they get tired and change perks?
You're saying you would rather be surprised by the No Mither or OoO?
1 -
They shouldn't have to change perks; and yes, I'd rather just go into a game not knowing; because I actually know how to play the game, and enjoy adapting to a different experience from the last one.
2 -
You could just ask in the chat what others are bringing?
0 -
You can't nerf swf bud
2 -
Then why would you dodge this OoO / No Mither player if you enjoy adapting?
0 -
I didn't say I would dodge. i said I'd be less inclined. There's a difference. 🙄
0 -
They have to answer and not speak some random language?
2 -
Solo Survivors should be kept at a disadvantage (compared to groups of Survivors communicating) because there's an edge case where Survivors may or may not dodge eachother?
1 -
Well you definitely can, just the devs refuse to do it. Banning OoO in SWF lobbies for example.
0 -
Then they would just lobby dodge to gain an advantage...
1 -
Sorry if I’m not getting this right but are you saying if for example, OoO is banned from SWF they should just lobby dodge to gain an advantage? I’m not quite sure what you’re saying here.
1 -
On Xbox, I would have to move the cursor over the first Survivor who joins, press (A), bring up their profile, navigate to Send Message, type out "what perks?" (slower without a chatpad attached to the controller, or keyboard to the console), and then back out of the Xbox menu to the lobby screen and press (A) on the next Survivor while I wait for a response from the first Survivor. If the first Survivor responded right away, and accounting for the time it took for them to type out their repsonse, I would not have time to read their message AND adjust my loadout accordingly.
And that's just 1 of the 3 other Survivors.
3 -
Solution: Punish dodging.
Solution to "But what about dodging lobbies with high ping?": Have all players confirm that they are okay with staying in the lobby, then lock them in and punish dodging from there.
0 -
They could dodge to get eachother as "solos" instead of joining as a party, like people did before SWF was added in general to play with friends. All you do then is reserve the advantage for people that go more out of their way to get it, like games that hide FOV settings or something in .ini files and the like. Anyone can do it, but not everyone knows how to or can be bothered to do it.
0 -
personally I just feel Camaraderie needs to be flipped, aka you have it so you can stop the timer for another survivor on the hook when you are within X meters.
0 -
Why not both?
Like Kindred
0 -
It would be a bad idea.
It would allow Survivor to make perk builds to compliment one another.
Example, two people have Borrowed Time and be the rescue guys, one with OoO to wind up the killer, one with Small Game to find the totems etc.
A real battleplan would come in to place, and with the way DBD is already 4v1, this would not be a very balanced move.
0 -
Thats the whole point lol.
This way they are way closer to SWF so we can finally buff killers.
1 -
I'm less likely to be dodged by my teammates for bringing a medkit as opposed to a flashlight as I am for bringing a perk loadout that doesnt fit with their idea of "whats the best loadout". The game would end up just having abunch of elitists that insist that everyone runs 4 out of a list of like 6 perks, and if you dare run something like Fixated...not gonna play with you.
0 -
I remember while playing Overwatch...there was the normal Meta team loadouts. In Overwatch, players dont get to see what your picking before the game starts, so when you picked Torb or Widowmaker instead of whatever hero is the Meta pick..."Well, I guess we're throwing guys" -proceeds to spend the rest of the game charging off the map-. Point being... I've already seen this play out in other games, and you DO have people that will say screw you before giving you a chance.
0 -
So... the Survive With Friends feature should be removed?
They're using 3rd party voice chat (or the console's native voice chat) to make perk builds to compliment one another.
0 -
How would they know I'm running fixated though instead of adrenaline for example unless I tell them? No-mither is the only perk that tells my teammates right away what I'm using.
0 -
I am one of users that use no mither almost in lots of matches. It is just a challange for me. I do love chases and I wanna make the killers chase me. So I run OoO and no mither to encourage the killer about chasing me. Once you learn how to play wih No Mither, after you take it off you will feel yourself like you have 2 lives :D Now I am actually better at chases. Because there is no 2nd chance so you have to be carefull, put a distance between you and the killer all the time, you have to be aware of where to go and loop. So I am used to escape with that perk. Also killers who has ability to down survivors with 1 hit like tier 3 myers, billy, bubba, plague(after being sick), ghost face, oni do not bother me at all :D I think every perk has another special usage, perspective and goal to use but it is discussed how efficient and useful they are.
0 -
Point got, but...
- Open Handed
- Up The Ante
- Fixated (unless you spawn alone and stop moving while others are watching)
0 -
Yeah, but the original purpose of No Mither is ability to pick yourself up, but with a big downside. Except the downside makes the pick up part completly useless, because killer will never slug you if they know that you have it lol.
Using it as poor mans OoO or as a Hard Mode to motivate yourself are also options, but this is not what this perk was supposed to do lol
1 -
Are you suggesting that someone would see the speed increase of fixated if I'm walking around?
1 -
Most of those perks dont give themselves away until they're being actively used. Your not gonna spawn in and know that THAT teammate has selfcare while THAT one has DS. Perks that offer buffs like leader might get shown early on, but no one is gonna know you have BT until your applying it to them.
2 -
Tbh I think potentially being dodged is acceptable. It's completely reasonable to not want to play with someone running No Mither. Especially when the killer has Thanatophobia and it's that much easier to get stacks.
However, a possible compromise would be that, once dc penalties are in the game, make it so your teammates' builds are shown during the loading screen. Less ability to synergize, yes, but at least you get some knowledge going into the trial. And if someone really wants to dc at that point then they will suffer the dc penalty.
This is not really on topic but I also think in addition to dc penalties there should be rewards for not dcing. For instance, with less than 1-3 dcs within a certain period of time you receive a 10% boost to bp or exp gain.
2 -
They can on DBD mobile lolll
1 -
Yeah but you can't back out of a lobby on dbd mobile. At least, I've never been able to. Maybe that's just because they fill up so fast though
0 -
Well in that case that perk would be better. I mean you are right about it. It has too much downsides. I mean at least survivors would have had picking themselves up faster than usual speed. Or the killer should not see that survivor has no mither for the first time(by looking survivor health state bar on the left side of) until the killer see that the survivor is injured in the game while chasing him or the survivor pick himself up by using his ability for once, then the health bars may look like as they are supposed to be. Otherwise the killer wil already understand that he has no mither so the killer would not slug him. I actually did not really pick myself up. If I give you a percentage that would be %10 chance for me to pick myself up before the killer hooks me depending on the matches I played before. Even he sluggs me, it is really hard to pick myself up untill he pick me because it is really slow. It may be faster so the perk would be more useful in my opinion. Also there is not completely Iron Will effect. So that is also so bad. %50 groaning. I do not know why but Iron Will should be already its ability.
0 -
Yeah, 100% agree.
A while back I made a thread with similiar ideas, here is a link if you want to check it out:
1 -
Wow the ideas are cool actually and better :D In my opinion the perk should be like:
1-You start the trial injured but on the health bar, killer can not see that you are injured. If the killer see you with eyes that you are injured but not injured on health bar, he may understand that you have No Mither.
2-Once you picked yourself up by yourself for the first time, the health bar will look like it is supposed to be "broken" status whole match.
3-Iron Will should be its ability for %100 or you should pick yourself up faster like "unbreakable" perk.
So you have unlimited chance to pick yourself up(it is better than unbreakable at this point) but you are injured whole game(it is worse than unbreakable at this point). But at least the killer should not understand it really early. ://

Lobby dodging and the fact that everyone would argue at the start of the match about what perks to be running.
0 -
I dont think anyone would lobby dodge with 10 minute queues because someone has a perk they dont like.
Just disable the chat if you dont want to see it. Some people want to work together when playing survivior
0 -
Why is everyone so butt hurt about no mither on your team. If someones running it they likely also have resilience. If they're decent, they will also likely escape regardless. I run no mither, resil, iron will, and dead hard/spine chill and escape pretty regularly.
0 -
Because one of two things always happens:
The killer tunnels them and they are out of the game super early (or they DC).
OR
They hide all game and do nothing.
Sometimes you'll see a No Mither teammate who actually tries, but usually, they are largely useless.
1 -
I see 0 point in this whatsoever. Sure, you may or may not get a game with another person in your SWF but I bet it’d be almost impossible to get a whole 4 man or even 3 man into one lobby simply from dodging over and over. The person in the lobby the others are joining into also can’t have anyone else join aside from their group and have to withstand the automatic 60 second match timer, adding to the total number of dodges. It might be more manageable through PC due to the regions but on console, I don’t believe there are limits to what countries players can come from. Overall, this method would be a complete waste of time to get a SWF in a game by joining as solos.
1 -
So again, they're mad at the player, not the side or perk.
DC type or useless type.
Yet still everyone forgets that the useful type DOES exist. We just see an influx of bad users now going for the challenge.
1 -
Because 90% of no mither users are noobs/ memeing/ doing rift/ think they are gud but they arent.
I wouldnt dodge a lobby ofc, but No Mither is kind of a useless perk... Not to mention vs Oni........
0 -
If you don't leave blood trails because your blood coagulates instantly, you should also not drop blood orbs for the Oni
0 -
Just say you have Camaraderie.
Dont show perks, because people will begin to dodge each other.
0 -
So 4 man no mither means oni cant use his power at all...
