Is the current matchmaking going to be fixed at all?
As a rank 10 I'm still being matched against ranks 1s and 2s. How did matchmaking get this broken?

The MM isn't broken. There simply aren't enough red and purple rank killers for high rank survivors to be matched against.

honestly most rank 2`s play like rank 10`s so dont worry too much about it, i cant even get my rank 1 teammates to do a gen or lead on a chase more than 5 seconds they just hide round the edge of the map not doing anything... i end up dying with 24k odd points while someone gets the hatch with 11k points

At this point, i dont belive matchmaking will be fixed. Instead, they will tell there is a new secret matchmaking going on, and we wont have any info about its measurement so we cant complain about it.
Doesnt solve the problem, but will maybe fix the complaints.

It isn't matchmaking, it is reduced numbers of killers since.SWF was introduced and not balanced around third party communications, killers don't have fun... I'll exclude the bugs and nerf/reworks

There are not enough killers in general anymore. Killer queue times are like instant, but survivor games like 5 - 15 minutes or more.
Playing killer is just such a stressful, anxiety ridden experience that people want to play it less and less. We need something to help relax the role a bit honestly, make it not a miserable experience for people and just a challenging but rewarding one instead.

In 20 legion's games today with a rank 1 account and a rank 12 account, I met AT Least two red ranks per game with a ton of swf same groups. I met a duo three times!
Let that sink, its obvious that there aren't enough red and purple killers on ps4 to keep up with the demands.

Killers just need, like, two or three more minutes so they don't have to start the match sweating. But the devs have said they don't really want to slow down anything for survivors besides maybe considering thinking about perhaps making toolboxes less powerful.

I don't want to make survivors just sit on a gen holding m1 longer either.
If killer could still be fun and rewarding even in a loss, and less of a hopeless feeling like you are at the survivor's mercy, it would honestly be enough.

Oh yeah, I agree. The gens are genuinely boring, and I understand not wanting to stretch that out. It's just... A little confusing to me that they don't want to add any optional objectives, secondary objectives, additional steps to repairing a gen, or anything to make the post-gen escape phase a bit less safe before the gates are opened. There's quite a few places where a few additional seconds could be padded in to make things just a little bit easier for killers.
And yeah, I agree with you. I don't have especially high standards. I just really want to feel like I had a chance to play the game, and didn't just spend it staring at boxes and walls as survivors run their loops. It sucks having the gates pop and realizing that not even one survivor has any real risk at all at that point.

We can't even have discussions about it here, since it always ends with someone jumping in with the same arguments of "Just get better" or "That's just your opinion" and will ignore anything you say to just recycle that. Which doesn't exactly help the problem.
It's definitely got me feeling that nothing is going to get better with this game, which is really disappointing.

My only thing about killer is that even when you play well, you are not consistently rewarded for doing so emblem wise. I mean, if potato survivors can be permitted to rank up, then why can't it be the same for killers? Rank after all in this game is and should only ever be a statement that you play the game often. That whole mindset of rank equaling skill in this game needs to die. Furthermore, if the current system has taught us anything lately, it's that if you make ranking up barely challenging for one side while making it excessively challenging for the other, the que times will forever be horrible for one side which will leave us with the matchmaking always giving players others not in their rank.

This simply isn't true, or isn't the ONLY reason. Someone just showed a endgame of a rank 2 killer against rank 10-15 survivors... makes no sense that they put him against them but put a rank 12 killer against red rank survivors?

Whetever you accept it or not, on ps4 a rank 12 killer gets mostly red ranks, in the vast majority of the games.

And I'm stating I know it does happen, but there is also something messed up with their Matchmaking. A red rank killer gets 10-15 survivors and a green rank killer gets red rank survivors... that isn't an opinion it is something people have posted screenshots of

this is solo survivor queue PS4 UK, exactly 5 minutes ago.
10 minutes to find a match and green rank killer, it seems quite obvious that red and purple rank killers are less and less

I've had two or three entire days of playing against people two colors above me. I'm green and I've been playing reds all day, and except for one or maybe two matches, I'm getting my ass kicked, hard.
This isn't fun. Whether its problems with match making, or its problems with the killers being too weak and no fun to play, I'm getting very discouraged. I'm almost to the point where I don't want to play anymore.

No, not necessarily kill related. That was already tested with the victory cube and it wasn't good which is why it was abolished. On top that, killers are expected to only have a 50% kill rate in any match. So, maybe it could be interaction based for killers to determine their rank with less emphasis on the kills; more rewarded for being active in the game vs kills(cause any killer can camp and possibly 4k). You wouldn't have to care about swf's with this. In fact you might even welcome it cause they are less likely to spend their time hiding and more time confronting you in turn giving you an easier pip. The current emblem system is already close to this idea. But it feels overly demanding for killers at least in the upper ranks.
