Opinions on new ruin?
For me, useless tbh. Before the rework I bought it on the shrine of secrets and now I believe it was a waste of shells. It doesn't synergies with pop: not worth equipping.
What do you guys think? Let me know down below.

At least you didn't buy Hag specifically for it.
I think it needed to be a bit rubbish, to stop everyone relying on a single perk. I hope killers are performing badly enough for the devs to give killers a non-perk-based buff to compensate.
If killers are generally coping fine, we'll get nothing.

It should have built in surveillance. Without it it's a garbage perk. It even conveniently stop regressing gens when cleansed. Like, seriously, why give all those quality of life things to HEXes that convenient for SURVIVORS?
With surveillance, this perk feels threatening enough for survs to start thinking that it actually need to be cleansed (with certain killers, of course). But that's about it. It's useful to some killers except top tier (it's really good on top tier killers), but pointless on those that NEEDED it before.

I think it's good on high mobility killers who can pressure gens well. Often times when you kick someone off a gen and have ruin it's going to regress most if not all of the way back to 0. In that regard while less consistent than pop (which is the downside of hex perks, their consistency) it definitely has the potential to be more powerful if it stays up and you are able to get use out of it.
I think it's better that it doesn't work with pop. Builds that literally only equip perks that passively make the game take longer are lame. Builds that have a meaningful impact on how you go about playing the game are more interesting.

My opinion. Not worth taking and what's worse is it was like the last block you take out of Jenga before the whole thing collapses.
Now the game is a mess, I have to queue for 15 minutes just to get in a game with a rank 18 killer with one perk or an AFK Wraith.
My favourite killers are now useless, my yin-yang is out of balance and my wife is leaving me all because they nerfed ruin.

Very bad change. Escaping is pretty easy rn unless my team make mistakes or we are running random builds.
New ruin doesn't do anything since the killer can't apply enough pressure for it to work.

You mean like bloodlust?

Hex perks are meant to work by themselves well, this is not ruin
Ruin requires Surveillance to work at all, and even with this perk, ruin only lasts for about 30 seconds, making it far from an endgame perk

At least you had a wifu :3

Powerful with surveillance, that's all I can say.
Also demo works great with it.

I like it on freddy with discordance and thrilling. Fake teleport and the survivors run away than thrilling locks up genny for 16. Also throw some snares around totem if you can early and it may last a bit.

When it stays up and the killer gets map pressure it's strong. But most of the time it's pretty meh.

It's worthless, we've all been over this ad infinitum

Its better....for the survivors. I feel like they should add another necessary objective for the survivors, like gathering parts for gens. Would slow the game down and it wouldnt be a boring change at all

It's pretty good if you are gonna play as a low tier killer like Legion or Clown
Ruin + Dying Light + Agitation + Iron Grasp
Ruin + Dying Light + Thanato + Discordance

The perk is still somewhat the same as it used to be before the nerf. It's the same complaints in a new page, it's honestly tiring.
It's a great carry from gray ranks down to purple and red though.
I think the role it has serves really well because it teaches us not to rely solely on one perk. Similar to how some people rely on DS but hardly get the chance to use it.
Playing survivor, it was pretty stale going against Ruin literally almost all of my purple and red ranked games to the point whenever I played with my friends, One of us would take Small game or a pink map and make the perk useless and force the Killer to play without it. Amazingly, a few killers I versed would instantly DC after seeing their Ruin gone in less than a minute. Pretty pathetic tbh.
On the other hand, Playing with Ruin as Killer was eh at best. The slowdown was nice, but it still had way too many drawbacks than it does now. Survivors would hit all of their skill checks, They would Gen tap or hold m1 for a few seconds then tap the gen to avoid the RNG.
Ruin felt pretty pointless to run without pop, because I still had to chase people down to use pop and waste time going to the gen to kick it after a hook. New Ruin allows me to freely exert pressure without having to come back to a gen to kick it after I run survivors off of them. The Surveillance combo speaks for itself though. It's really good info.
Though admittedly, I would keep the regression until the generator is touched after the hex is cleansed.
