Why Spine Chill is underrated
Spine Chill does two really strong things.
- It gives you a clutch 6% boost when you need it. Seems small but it can have a massive impact on last second gen finishes or heals that would've been interrupted and it can make risky vaults more reliable.
- This is the major one. It lets you know when the killer is nearby, but doesn't know where you are or isn't focusing you. Without Spine Chill you have to respect the terror radius a whole lot more and assume you've been caught or you're going to be.

I'll admit, it's my go to survivor crutch perk. I suck at looping so I like the extra knowledge. (killer main who plays survivor during rift challenges)

Spine Chill is not underrated anymore, tons of people have started using it in my experience and I see people here call it good, if we’re talking underrated then let’s talk about diversion or distortion.

Agreed, I've been using it since day 1, it's so much more useful then premonition or alert. And your not giving away your location like object of obsession.

3 - It counters all stealth killers.
4 - It counters all terror radius perks/abilities in the game.
Basically it's the perk that gives all the Killer information you need when your solo that you get for free when your SWF. The opposite than Bond, but doesn't have a requirement to be useful.
Though at the same time, that makes it too powerful for survivors to have.

If you want to play safe spine chill will help you maintain plenty of distance between you and killer just beware your teammates will all die if you are too greedy with your hook states.
0 -
Yeah. That's something I sometimes forget. You don't want to be the survivor that doesn't get hooked or have a teammate that never gets hooked. If it's mid/late game and some teammates have been getting tunneled, its honestly in your best interest to purposely get chased for a while

Just run objective of obsession lol it tells you want direction the killer is in (if it’s stealth) against normal killers it’s very strong and tells you when there coming and against Freddy...well Freddy dosnt stand a chance lol it completely destroys him it’s also good against low terror radius killers

Yes, and whispers "counters" every stealth perk in the game. It is too powerful for killers to have.

I honestly think it is their own fault for getting caught. Should I just throw myself at the killer because my team decided to run dumb perks instead of things that will actually help them survive the diciest situations?
Every time I see someone with like "we'll make it" or "we are gonna live forever" getting absolutely butchered; I wished they would run DS so they can be terrible and get away with it, or spine chill so they would not get caught in the first 20 seconds of the game.
I would rather run spine chill and left behind.

Spine Chill + Sprint Burst hard counters every stealth killer in the game lol, I'm sure it's fun for the pig who totally gets a legit ambush but I'm way out of reach because I Sprint Bursted the second I heard the roar xD
Likewise with Ghostface, the spine chill lights up? cool let me spin the camera until I hear the unmasking sound pop he's done sprint burst away.

or you could get better at the game and not have to show the killer any respect. if you are scared of a terror radius maybe this game isn't for you.

There's a big difference between knowing a survivor is in your vicinity as Killer, and knowing the Killer is in your vicinity and looking your direction as Survivor.

We'll Make It is an awesome perk.
1 -
Why you diss we'll make it?
0 -
Because it is mainly a greedy perk and encourages healing directly under the hook, which is never a good idea.
Unless you are running spine chill.....and can know it is safe to actually heal under the hook. But still, it's usually not a good idea. 50% of killers won't directly come back to the hook, but 50% will. Want to gamble on which it will be?

I agree, the benefit of being able to ignore terror radius is huge

At the start of the game, I can usually use whispers to pinpoint exactly where the first survivor I am going to chase is. I have played with it for hundreds of hours, and know about what 32m is.
If it's the last survivor left, they will have almost nowhere to hide.
1 -
That's why I run spine chill with it. Plus, I mostly play swf where it's super potent.
0 -
I think it's inferior to something that will actually give you a new capability as a survivor. Like borrowed time, letting you stop a camping killer. You can save 5 seconds off your heal....or actually save your teammate from someone camping them.
0 -
I also run that...
0 -
There's so many better perks than saving a few seconds on your heals.
You can be running stealth perks so you are not getting chased in the first place, chase perks so you are not being hooked in the first place, second chance perks, gen rush perks, etc etc. I think it's terrible overall in comparison to what could be in it's place.
It's nice to have, but overall greedy and will be punished by the best of killers.

Preach, brotha!

Double heals for over a minute is good enough for me.
0 -
Yeah which makes sense for a Killer. What doesn't make sense is a perk that directly tells you danger is nearby like Spidey Senses - in a HORROR game. Not to mention how much of a crutch that ability does for a role that shouldn't be the power role.
Not only does Spine Chill give more information to the survivor than whispers does a Killer, but it's easier to use, and more reliable.

I'd rather never go down, than save ~10 seconds off 1 heal.
0 -
That's your playstyle then :/
0 -
It doesn't tell you which direction they are coming from, unless you pair it with premonition as well. And that uses half of your perk slots, which is a waste in my opinion.
Nothing is going to save you from the stealth killers on close quarters maps. Otherwise, you are probably taking hits entirely for free.
Should scratched mirror myers just murder everyone without counterplay? Let me tell you, there is basically none on a map like lery's.
That's why I will never take spine chill off, in case I run into builds like those.

It's pretty obvious which way a Killer is coming from, any half good player can figure that out. Why even mention promotion - that's a useless weaker version of Spine Chill.
Spine Chill literally turns stealth killers into just m1 killers with no abilities.
Yes? Myer's is a KILLER he should be the power role. If the player wants to play a jumpscare HORROR character they should be able to. You are the SURVIVOR. This isn't supposed to be a competitive game, it's supposed to be casual. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GET SCARED AND EXCITED. Important to also mention giving a player a perk that guarantee's you know when the killer is near you ignoring things like terror radius, and stealth as a "counter" is not balance. That's just broken. Balance would be giving a survivor an equivalent advantage. Which also wouldn't make sense for a HORROR game.
I also never take Spine Chill off, because I also like getting free win's by taking a perk. Just like Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, and Dead Hard. 2 Immunity perks, and a confirmed safe hook for the Benevolent emblem. YES PLEASE! Though i'm not going to sit here and lie - to say that these are not broken to hell perks, and they shouldn't belong in a Horror game.
Honestly I get scared more often by Survivors stunning me as Killer than I ever do playing survivor.
You can know which way the killer is coming from by just knowing map layout. The easiest solution is knowing where the corner of the map is. He is most likely not coming from the barrier, the closer you are to the corner then the easier it is to predict where the killer is coming from. As the game goes on, you get a mental idea where the killer is all the time via Hooks, Chases, and Sounds - it gets extremely easy to predict.

Yeah, when you are doing a gen that has like 3-4x corners or LOS blockers near it, and the killer has literal wallhacks on you, it will be super obvious which one they are going to pop out of.
Don't lie, you never play survivor.

MonkaS
See this is the kind of idiocy that i'm talking about. You rely so heavily on Spine Chill, you can't even do something as simple as go "One side of the map is there, the other side of the map there, and the rest of the map is over there - so the Killer should be coming from over there". Not to mention that when spine chill lights up, you just walk/run over to the nearest safe loop and will most often get there or just have to take a hit to get to the nearest safe loop. At that point you just loop the killer till they leave you alone or the gates are powered.
It sounds a hell of a lot more like you don't even play this game.
