Killers should have an option to dc and save bloodpoints.
If a survivor DCs after a fast down the game is over. You can either farm with the other 3 or just end the game as aoon as possible. But thats not fun for both sides.
So killers should be able to end the game if a survivor has DCd before. Maybe a minute time to do so after the dc. All harvested points should be granted and everyone safety pips.
This shouldnt be an option gor survivors because then swfs could abuse it.
But if a survivor has already DCd i guess the others wouldnt complain if the game was over without punishment.

like a surrender option?

More like a "i want to play a real game wkth 4 survivors and not slaughter 3 pour souls that got left behind by a DC in first minute of the game" option. Without a penalty for anybody left.
Survivors dc often and its boring for the killer and unfair to the other survivors. But you cant end the game without penalty and are forced to play agaonst 75% survivors.

What about offerings, items, and add-ons?
0 -
Get them back. I mean if someone dcs the other players get punished. The only one who should get punished is the person which DCd in first place. Its already laughable that you lose offerings when a match gets canceld before it started.

No different than cancelling a match, tbh.

I agree with this, at the very least allow the doors to be opened early after a DC.
3 -
Id rather the salty survivor who dc'ed "on purpose" gets banned for a day.
0 -
Why should this be in the hands of the killer only?
1 -
I think the killer should be able top open the gates at any time. That seems fair.
0 -
I think this would kill the game tbh, a survivor dcing is super common so a lot of games would just end prematurely.
idk about you but I dont care much for a single survivor dcing and if I did, i would just die on the hook as soon as the killer caught me, which I would think is more fun.
0 -
Because swf could abuse this mechanic.
1 -
Most survivors dont enjoy a game that you will lose. And killers find no fun in defeating 75% of a team.
0 -
Honestly the gates should just be able to be opened by the Killer from the start, Survivors can give up and move on but as Killer you're forced to play trough till the end.

How?

not a claim you can make, "losing" is not defined in this game really.
0 -
They load in with a killer the group doesn't like facing. One person eats the DC. They move on to the next game. Rinse and repeat until they get a killer they like. If they rotate the survivor who DC'S the penalty will probably be easy to avoid, or at least mitigate.
1 -
Oh come on. If you have 4 survivors escaping thats a team win. If you escape its a personal win. If you piped its a reward for playing good. If you gain a lot of BP its also a reward for playing good. Killers would dc if there was a bug that spawned only 5 gens instead of seven. Thats about the same as a survivor less for the team. If theres only 3 survivors early on the survivors have a disadvantage and killers who want a fair game should have the possibility to move on and do the other survivors a favour.
You wont play chess without a queen.

I've been in a match where we had a first down DC early. 3v1, we all got out on Ormond, not hatch escapes either. Certainly wasn't easy and killer wasn't allowing us to repair gens. He had no sympathy, not that he should.
2 -
I would play chess without a queen, I like trying to deal with the cards that are dealt to me.
If 4 survivors escape while the killer was just afk'ing in the basement the entire game, is that a team win? you all got out unopposed, idk I would describe that as a waste of time.
if I escape by having blindly done gens at the cost of everything else and leave with 3 of my teammates on hooks, is that a personal win? I dont think so myself.
If I pipped, thats just the game having allowed me the freedom to do something in all categories, if I de-pipped its the same thing but opposit, its all in all pretty damn meaningless.
If only 5 gens would have spawned, I would probably think it was bs yeah (actually I would think it to be quite funny and make a screenshot of it if I could) but I would not just stop playing, you get bloodpoints no matter how little you accomplish so might as well get as much as you can right?
I define winning by having had a good game, a good fair challenge where we all try to win, but not in a toxic "must win no matter what".
If I nicely distributed hooks amongst the team, they saved, lost me, healed, did gens, and all 4 even made it out, thats fine by me because we all played well.
If im a survivor and thank god I finally get a lobby, because that takes rather long, im not just giving up because some randommer just DC''s, ill keep playing and see how the game actually goes.
The idea that a randommer dc's because they are downed rather fast and then the killer just dc's as well..... jeez what a waste of time, the game would actually become the lobby simulator so many are mockingly calling it right now.

An option where the remaining players could vote to end the game would be nice.
0 -
Maybe an option to vote to cancel the match? Would have to be unanimous from both sides, and can only be called once within a 15 second window of the DC or something. Otherwise people would just call a vote when they start losing.
0 -
I played a game with a similar option for multiplayer matches a while back but I can't remember what it was now. If you had a 4 man team and 3 voted to end it would but if it was 50/50 the match went on.

Left 4 Dead had it!

Buff DC penalty
0 -
So let them have fun with the DC penaltys. They wont play much more.
0 -
Except if there's 4 of them. And they rotate which one DC'S. The penalty will probably never touch them.
2 -
What kind of sad group of people would do that? π
I'm a survivor main and have never purposefully DC'd from a match - even once when the killer had over 2000 ping...
As other people have said, I'd prefer a vote to end the match rather than the killer getting to choose on their own.
It would be handy though - I once had an entire 3 man swf DC after about 30 secs into the match because their noob friend got hooked. Tried to get door but didn't let go of lever in time so killer grabbed and hooked me, losing my party streamers and rank π

I'm not saying it's not scummy. But a person asked earlier how swf would abuse it. This is how.
1 -
Killers should have some kind of surrender option in general, some equivalent to the survivors hook suicide which is apparently allowed. It's only fair.
Something not too abuse able though since if they DC the whole match is over for everyone, something that they cannot do frequently....I am not sure what the best way to go about it is though, would definitely need to be well thought out.

I wasn't saying or implying you weren't, just sharing my disgust at those sort of people lol
0 -
You're good. Just thought I'd make it clear I think it's a garbage way to behave.
0 -
Maybe a vote should be initiated so letβs say the killers vote is mandatory to start it and at least 2 of the survivors have to vote yes to disband like the game normally would when someone dcs during the loading screen. That way everyone keeps everything and no pips are gained or lost
3 -
A vote would be fine but I think it would be best if the killer has to initiate the sequence and everyone else has to vote yes. Otherwise you play the game. I personally like to play every game out. I don't want anybody to have the ability to take that away all by themselves because of the actions of another.

I see your point but limiting it to Killer leaves it open to abuse as well. Say someone DCs and the killer has had a bad match up until then, they can choose to end the match? How about cases where someone's internet or power goes out and they have no choice but to DC? A voting system would be best. The proposed solution assumes that anyone that DCs does so on purpose and that killers don't DC themselves.
0 -
If a survivor DC's the killer can open the end gates. It's already a mechanic in the game. It triggers end game collapse so survivors can't stick around. Accomplishes the goal and let's the killers show mercy without having to farm and it isn't a DC.
0 -
I second this.
I used to watch a killer main streamer that DC when a survivor DC, cause the match got unfair. If its a desire from the killer not to accept an unfair match cause a DC, so he should be able to do that.
0 -
If survivor DCs, all other players should get a cumulative 10% bp bonus to actions.
I don't want the game to end, but there should be more than a lousy 600bp boost out of it. Survivors are more hosed than the killer is. Now they have to compensate for the loss of manpower, and they get less BP because the killer will likely kill them faster.
As for the killer side, sure, they get a whopping 625? bp for a DC, but they lose out on chase points, hit points, etc, etc.
