Dc penalties bug
If I am stuck in a wall or something else coming from a bug, should I do nothing?

Yeah. Its probably better than getting penalized.

Yeah, this game is not meant to have a DC penalty system when its still so buggy

i wouldn't agree 4:30 mins is short tbh. I tested if they are working few minutes ago

What's the next escalation step?

you have 2 options, DC and eat the penalty or go get a snack or take a poop while you're stuck there. It sucks but the salt in this game has gotten so bad that this penalty is more than needed.

yeah i don't feel like dcing again ever lmao,i just did it to test how it looks/if it works at all. It's probably around 5,6mins i'd say after.

Seriously, DCing is so rampant that penalties are necessary. If I get bugged or crash, I bite the bullet for 5 minutes and suck it up for the greater good.

Agree completely.

Same. Seriously if the game's bugged and the killer can't find me or reach me for some reason, I rather disconnect and wait for the penalty to be over with, rather than waste more than 5 not to get a penalty.

The incremental penalties will decay naturally over time, starting after the most recent matchmaking ban has completed.
I included a excerpt from their news post to discuss my issue with this. My game crashes once to twice in a 2-3 Day period. If I am playing a lot on Saturday or Sunday, I tend to get 1-2 crashes a day.
So my question is, what amount of time has to pass naturally for my penalty to decrease? Is it 24 hours? Than yeah, I'll eat the 5 minutes every now and then. Is it 72 hours? Then no, because more than likely not enough time will have passed for me to have my penalty decreased.

I think the first DC should be seconds honestly, the fact that now when I play with friends if someone gets an infinite loading screen we all have to wait five minutes to even go into queue only to wait another 15 is just ****Ing ridiculous.

It was 24 hours the last time they tested DC penalties. Sorry you have so many crashes, I play often and get one maybe once a week or so.

Like I said, it's more a matter of how long I play. For example weekdays. I am usually good. I only happens once or twice. However a Saturday or Sunday when I got no plans on. I'll play the game from 9-10am until 10-11pm sometimes. It's these periods in which I get a crash.
If it's 24 hours, Than I got no issue with eating 5 minutes.

Personally I think there should be an option when pressing escape so you can ask the game to check for these circumstances. The system should be able to see inputs happening from the user side and not working within the game.
It should then give you an option to leave free of punishments and thank you for the bug report.

That would be amazing and ideal, but I think we're dreaming asking for that to happen in the near future, if it's even possible at all.

And then grievers and toxic players will just start abusing that, and we're back at square one.

I dont see how the game checking for normal inputs within the game such as a key press not moving a character as normal will be abused.

but you could be in a locker... then you also don't move

The DC rate has gotten stupid. I’d say 1 out of every 3 matches. First hit... DC, killer chases you...DC, hooked... DC. FFS just play the game. I can at least understand the frustration of getting Tunneled or camped so bad that you should get a merit badge, but for me I just soak up the BP and hold out as long as I can. At least it keeps the campers busy while the remaining hopefully get the gens done.

Lol 5 minute ban on first disconnect.
Bugs, crashes and server issues still counting as disconnects.
R.I.P DBD. Expect the community to disappear.

can't wait to have the healing/mending bug again and not being able to die from the EGC only to get penalized for their ######### programming.

Imagine someone with the knowhow that writes a little program that blocks keyboards outputs.. the client receives the input, but the program blocks the output from actually being sent to the server. Nothing happens, oh this player's stuck, let's get him out of there, penalty free, in the middle of a chase or whatever situation they feel like getting out of. Tadaaa.
Anything that requires checks on the client side of things can be broken apart and taken advantage of.

I imagine it will affect the queue times a fair bit more so they are going to get a little longer for sure. Not enough to kill this game, it's stupid tenacious community is a glutton for punishment so they will stick around.

happened to me on 3 different occasions. over the last few months, still no fix.

If it matches the progression of the test, it would be 10, 20, 60, 120, a day. I think that's the furthest anyone was able to test last time, and I'll admit this is purely from memory.

The game could easily recognise that. Its not about simply not moving but not being able to move when you should be able too.
i dont think that is quite as simple as you think. That itself would more than likely have to interact with the game on a level which would easily be detected as it would need to block certain things within the game itself as you connect to the server from within it.

If you could do that as easily as you say (Distrupt communication between client and the server) without being detected by EAC, then we would have a plague of cheaters flying around lmao.
Most cheats try to change values on client side to trigger events on server side, changing something between client amd server is the hardest thing to do

Stay in game - taking it hostage. Get banned. (possibly?)
DC - penalized.
Seems flawless. /s

It's not an issue. They just want to prep their DC excuses ahead of time. I have NEVER had to DC in this game in the months I've been playing it, every day. Not a single time.

Game will still end.
