with the changes to matchmaking will ranks be pointless now?
Will they have a purpose after the changes? Also what will happen with the emblems?

For the time immediately following the release of the new system, they won't do anything (aside from give you achievements for reaching certain milestones on PC).
Although should something go horribly, catastrophically wrong, we could always switch back to the old matchmaking system and fall back on ranks.

"For the time immediately following the release" - Does that mean you have plans regarding the ranking system ? Also, what about the MMR being hidden ? ... In my opinion if you can't even see your own progress, there is really no point to playing the game at all, competetive games (And I truly believe that dbd is competetive) are all about getting better, I want to see that Im getting better and (preferably) I want to get rewarded for it.

as long as you reward those who do gens and lead on chases more than those who hide and just go for unhooks, too many red ranks that dont belong and its kinda killing the game for me

Why not translate visible ranks to the hidden mmr system? Seems like a no brainer instead of keeping something that is actually useless.
