If I Made: The Ghostface

Intro

Hi again, thank you all for looking at my first post in this series kinda. And I wanted to bring up some comments that made good points about it!

"What does changing it from "one box has the key" to "you gotta search X boxes, where X is randomly determined" accomplish, if you don't mind me asking? To me, it still seems like the end result is the same in practice."

That's a great question that I have no clue how to answer. I don't know what I was thinking, but I was trying to paraphrase what Otzdarva said in his video on how he'd change each killer. I'm sorry that it didn't make any sense.

"Do you think there should be a minimum amount of Jigsaw Boxes required to search? What about the search time? You think it should stay 10 seconds?"

I think the first part of this is also answered by Otz's video, but otherwise I do have something to say about the search time. I think they could add maybe a few seconds to add tension, but the time is already sort of long so at most I would add 2 seconds or even 1.5 seconds.

With that out of the way, lets get into how I'd make The Ghostface.

The Title

This is a small thing but I honestly hate the title for Ghostface. I'd take out "the". But, since every killer needs "the" before their name, I'd change it to "The Ghost" or "The Stalker" or hell even "The Slasher".

Night Shroud: Activation and Crouching

I am one of those who believes Ghostface's power is too similar to the Shape's power. So I'll be making a few changes to it (keep in mind I can change this however I want since it will never happen lol). Pressing M2 on PC, RT on Xbox, or R2 on PS4, you activate Night Shroud. You gain the Undetectable Status Effect, meaning you have no terror radius and give off no red stain. A survivor can take you out of night shroud by looking at you. After looking at you for one second, the noise showing they're staring at you plays for them 2.5 seconds after they start looking at you. Attacking, Picking up a Survivor, and getting stunned by a pallet takes you out of Night Shroud. Night shroud has a 45 Second cool down before you can use it again. While in night shroud you can crouch like how the base game works.

Night Shroud: Stalking

Pressing M2, RT, or R2 while in night shroud allows you to stalk survivors. After stalking a survivor for 3 - 6 seconds (I couldn't decide what time) a survivor becomes marked. For the next 40 seconds the survivor is shown with a red outline that the Ghost can see through walls.

Night Shroud: The Frightened Status Effect (Optional)

After a survivor is marked and the ghost successfully hits them before starting a chase (hard to implement, changes to chases would need to be made. If it would be too hard to add, it would just become "after you hit a marked survivor" without the need to do it before a chase starts), they suffer from the Frightened Status Effect. When a survivor is frightened, they permanently hear the killers terror radius as if they were near but not in a chase, they will also scream every 15 seconds which will reveal they're location via aura.

Both survivors and killers can see this aura. A survivor cannot work on generators, open chests, heal, or unhook survivors while frightened. In order to escape from the Frightened Status Effect, the survivor must find another survivor. This survivor can preform a Calm Down skill check. It's short and has one actual check which is about the size of a DS skill check but a little bit bigger. (Optional: When survivors enter proximity of a hooked survivor they scream).

The Terror Radius

I'd consider a change of his terror radius since he is a stealth killer after all. However, my changes might have made him too strong for a killer with a smaller TR. If I had to change it, I'd be 28 or 24 meters but I wouldn't argue with the common 32 meters.

The Speed

I'm currently alright with his speed, it seems to fit him well, However, with his new ability to frighten survivors, he might have a bit more map pressure so maybe make him slightly slower. I don't know exactly how slow I'd make him, but I wouldn't make him so slow that he's useless in a chase.

Final Thoughts

I'm sort of skeptical on the changes I would make, but I like the idea of a completely knew idea for a killer like this. It feels more fresh than a Myers 2.0. Tell me what you think about these changes. Would you have kept the Exposed effect? Should he be faster? Remember to keep it constructive! Who should I do next? Thank you all for reading.
