Is DC penalty outrage surpassing Ruin nerf?
Seems kinda strange that so many are flipping out over the DC penalty thing and saying they're mad cause the game hasn't been fixed enough to warrant putting it in place. It's pretty much what everyone was saying about ruin and I find that a little funny to be honest. Thoughts anyone?

It seem worse cause the ones affected by ruin change were killers main, now the most affected are survivors :)

I remember seeing multiple pages of tears about Ruin being nerfed.
So I would say no.
14 -
It's almost like there's more survivors than there are killers, and survivors didn't have much to complain about. But since this affects survivors and you consider the amount of survivors, it's pretty obvious why there's more "outrage" about it.
10 -
I just checked and there are threads about DC penalty on page 4 right now. Didn't look further so not sure but I think that counts as multiple pages.
6 -
Too many killers were disconnecting because their Ruin totem went within seconds.
Fixed and Fixed.
5 -
Not even close, but it's up there.
2 -
The dc change makes it harder for survivors to dc put of spite, considering that survivors are the majority it makes sense they try to revert this.
They will stop, a dc penalty in a multplayer game is obviously needed.
8 -
I don't see a problem with it tbh. People are mostly complaining because of bugs that make the game unplayable, but it doesn't happen often at all. Like the ruin nerf, they're over exaggerating about it saying they get these bugs every other game
3 -
DC penalties are 100% good. There's no real reason to DC aside from glitches with the EGC glitch being an example. But people are exaggerating by acting like that glitch happens all the time.
And no even if the killer is difficult and is using annoying add-ons you shouldn't DC.

No.

I'm glad they are doing it for the fact that I'm tired of survivors or killers leaving the game when it gets too tough. Good move B.
1 -
I wasn't a ruin user and I'm not someone who DC, so IDC tbh
1 -
Nah, the outrage is not remotely as bad as the one caused by ruin, the weeping caused by the ruin nerf continues to this day,

I don't think there is any comparison between the two. Ruin was an uproar (with players still quite mad), but the DC penalty thing is something most people want and have begged for. There are a few squeeky wheels because there always is. But that's all it is. The handful of perpetual whiners that would complain if they gave out 1000 free auric cells.

Fair enough. I just saw a lot of complaints and it put me in mind of the mass amount over ruin. I don't use ruin and didn't complain about it either. My hag is still level 1 to be honest about it. I am a big fan of the DC penalty though. Too many times have I seen people with names like "doc=DC" and the like. I guess from my point of view is I'm just chillin with my popcorn just like i was when ruin got blasted lol.

These forums have become so political. The devs should seriously stop listening to any of you.
5 -
There was a substantial amount of complaining about Ruin, so I'm not so sure about that.
1 -
Not sure what your getting at there. This isn't a pro ruin or pro DC or the opposite of either thread. This is more about the complaints towards both that I found somewhat similar.

No, it does not come close to the crybabies during the ruin nerf.
2 -
That would be a day 1 purchase hands down new main survivor material.

W a i t
Dev’s, this is the one to listen to

This game was already heavily survivor sided and as a result the ruin nerf has profoundly changed the game. It wasn’t accompanied by a buff to any tool that killers could use to stop gens from flying by. The killer base has declined to yellow rank killers regularly facing red rank survivors. Killers queue in instantly while survivors wait 2-4 times the length of a match. The outrage over killer nerfs is justified.
The DC penalty doesn’t stop players from giving up in any different way. Like hiding in a locker to make the game take forever.

No?
I have seen more posts celebrating it than raging about it
1 -
There’s a difference between changing a perk where the usefulness of it varied between really good to utterly useless and actively punishing players for developer incompetence.
2 -
Ah yes, it's the developers' fault some people are toxic/salty little ****heads. Not because they have no respect for other players. Nope. Totally Behaviour's fault. Shame on you guys, shame.

Only people getting upset are the ones who want to be able to DC whenever without consequences, or people who keep having net issues, crashes, etc but still queue up anyway.
DC penalties were long needed, they just need to hammer out some kinks.
0 -
It keeps people able to get bbq stacks, hook points, etc.
Survivors wont just DC when picked up. It doesn't negate the killer doing their job.
0 -
Ah yes it’s the players fault that the game is still a buggy mess and every update there seems to be a new gamebreaking bug.
1 -
I don't know what game you're playing, but the only "gamebreaking" bug I've ever encountered in the year I've been playing this was the basement hook bug, where you just fell off the map and couldn't do anything to get out of it, except getting downed and hooked again by the killer. That's it.
Yes, there are other bugs. Gamebreaking? No.
But the game having bugs is nothing new, and if you use that as an excuse to disconnect, ruining other people's experience, and expect not to be punished for it, then, sorry to tell you this but the problem's not with the game, it's with your entitled attitude.
0 -
Yeah people who experience a gamebreaking bug, have to quit otherwise the game literally wont end, and then they’re unhappy they get a timeout for it....THOSE are the entitled players
Never work in customer service my friend.
1 -
What game breaking bug is currently not allowing the game to end that happens enough that someone would get more than a single 5 minute time out if it were to happen?
4 -
And how many times do you experience these bugs? Because I know a lot of people who play the game, and honestly, aside from dedicated server lag related issues (hits that shouldn't have and things like that) I never hear anyone say anything about any of those gamebreaking bugs you mention all the time. So I'm curious as to how frequently they happen to make you so mad they implemented penalties for disconnecting.
1 -
To be fair, while these things do happen, the frequency of them happening is being grossly over exaggerated now that the penalties are in place. I've had ALL these bugs happen to me. Stuck in healing animation (EGC won't even kill you there), infinite load screen, pretty much everything. I've been on Holidays for the past 6 weeks (beauty of working at the same place for a decade). I've played a lot of DBD in that time (so much that I'm level 56 of the rift). I've had one of these things, only one, happen once. On hawkins, against an Oni.
Seems like everyone just hates the idea of having to stay in the game/die on hook now when things don't go their way. They can't cuck the killer of their sacrifice anymore and they are butthurt.
3 -
Lol. No. The forums damn near imploded for the Ruin nerf. Of course it wasn't all unwarranted. It was a questionable move at best. To my at least. This has seen far less outrage. The only legitimate point I've seen is the games stability issues can unfairly punish people.
0 -
Yeah seriously. I really think they're not playing the same game as the rest of us.
1 -
They are upset that they are potentially losing some power in the game. I don't care what anyone says, the main reason survivors DCed is because it was a way to stick it to the killer because the game was not going how they wanted it to. I've been playing the game for 2 years and have not once had a bug that did not allow the game to finish if I did not DC ever since the EGC has been introduced. I have been stuck in gens, got the basement hook bug, invisible pallet bug, no skill checks bug etc. I never DCed in any of the instances.
It is similar to me and the ruin nerf. I made up so many hypotheticals because I was pissed off about the change. I was overreacting and have admitted that and I still play the game unlike what I said many times. It will die down.
1 -
No the most affected is everyone.
You have killer threads going up passively defending DCs
You have survivors who claim their internet are doodok
0 -
Me neither. Yes, some games ruin the experience, but not to the point where I can't finish the game. It sucks, it happens, but not as often as these people want us to believe. Definitely not as often.

Absolutely agree here. Too many times have I had a looper get to third down/hook and DC because they were going to die and threw a fit. Likewise, I've had too many games where the looper dies, and one or more players DC because they don't have a distraction to keep them protected while trying to gen rush. Same with games that I was able to stop the rush early and hook a Survivor fast.
That, and I absolutely LOVE that it punishes," You tunneled me, so I'm DCing to deny you a kill." Types, of which there are FAR too many.
1 -
I wanna thank everyone for coming in with you opinions on this regardless of what stance you take. I honestly thought it would die out after a few comments and here we are a 2 pages. Nice work everyone 😎
1 -
So now you can tunnel to your hearts content.
I’m sure that won’t affect the health of the community at all.
1 -
Yup. Because at some point, everyone that's constantly whining about it will quit or realize it's a viable, if annoying, play-style that prioritizes taking out the weakened, easier to kill prey, like any intelligent hunter would.
Much better than adhering to some silly, Survivor-made notion that letting an injured, unhooked Survivor run away in favor of going after a healthy Survivor, instead is the smart choice.
1 -
Every fanbase and community in history complain to the Devs about any changes that come to their game. It's just how it is.
0 -
I don't usually DC. Instead I kill myself on the hook. Or AFKing/farming when playing killer. Not worth loosing my precious Bloodpoints.
0 -
Yeah thats exactly what tunnelers are. “Intelligent hunters”.
Even though most are bad at the game and rely on NOED to mop up the remaining survivors.
0 -
Wasn't fussed about changes to either. I think the DC penalty change is much needed. Im guilty of dcing for one reason or another at some point. Ruin didn't affect me as survivor and didn't use it much as killer. So I could take it or leave it. Good for new survivors I guess.

The salty tears of trashy players. Good, the more people that can't play properly complaining they have to git gud, the better.
The ruin nerf I can understand completely, but the DC penalities are long overdue. I have DC'd once during play, to give the hatch to my team mate who was right next to it against a billy who slugged us and spent the rest of the game getting chainsaw points. The penalty should also come with a significant de-rank penalty too.

Not only do i see less, there's also more positivity about this one than Ruin from what i'm seeing.
0 -
This is what always happens when the survivors don't get their way.
This is also why we say killers complain more, because their issues never or very very slowly get looked into or updated, while survivors come down like a sledge hammer in one massive group and get their way within a week, leaving nothing to really complain about.
0 -
More like too many survivors lost a mind game, were found first, ruin wasn't cleansed in the first 20 seconds, it was a killer they hated or missed their ds and dc'ed.
