Running out to deny the killer the hatch closure points.
One of the all-time favourite antics of the Survivor troll gangs:
They've acted like buttock-warts all match, with all the usually tactics to annoy the killer, taking glee in their own attempts to turn people away from the game out of pure frustration. You've simply brushed it off and have attempted to play and have fun, as best you can.
But what really is intriguing is the sheer selfishness of running out at the exit gate in order to deny the killer the opportunity to find and close the hatch. You can tell when this has happened purposely: It usually occurs after a survivor has been rescued and they've ran off to escape a 99% complete exit gate. The injured survivor leaves but it's obvious the last survivor is there, desperately in the mood for a teabag. Sometimes it's just better to make the most of what's left: find that hatch and get a few extra points.
The final survivor then realises you're far away, looking for the hatch. Knowing you have no interest in sharing the hilarity of seeing them crouch up and down repeatedly, they understand you're not rising to them.
So off they go, just to spite you and to deny you them points. You can tell when this has happened, the mature post-game chat confirms it. "No hatch for you lolz". Peak conversation.
I'm in no way saying "THE LAST SURVIVOR MUST NOT EXIT VIA THE GATE UNTIL I'VE CLOSED THE HATCH!". It's just sad to know that some players will do anything and everything to antagonize others. It's just so pathetic.
Shame. The match-making and abhorrent player base are really damaging this game. Oh well.

Why do you care exactly?

Wait... so now killers are complaining that survivors are leaving EGC too quickly?
you guys have come full circle, congratulations!
I had a spirit down me in the exit gate, pick me up, and realise he couldn't get me to a hook so he dropped, my team mates had to leave and the hatch opened up next to me, but he slammed it shut and watched me crawl out the exit gate, both sides do things to spite each other from points, I however think this is just you being paranoid, you could have closed the hatch at any second.
What more likely happened is the survivor got bored of waiting to tbag you, and left, not even considering the hatch.

Well I wouldn't mind those extra points. Sorry if that's difficult to understand.

You are really reaching here.
12 -
Dude, you are rreeeallllyyyy reaching with this complaint and looking way too much into it.
They probably did want to teabag you at the gate and then leave, but I doubt they were even thinking of hatch points at all xD Who knows maybe they were just going to give you a free hit for some points instead.
I think you need to get out of your own head a bit, it sounds like you are making things harder on yourself emotionally, by assuming everything is just being done out of spite- a lot of it isn't.
4 -
You also get extra points for just hitting the survivor and forcing them out. You are causing your own problem here.
7 -
No it's not a complaint about survivors leaving too early. As I mentioned in the original post.
It's the fact some are doing this purposefully in order to irritate the killer. The post match comments back this up.
But would/should I really expect anything less from this community?
2 -
If all this amounts to "I wouldn't mind if...," then this probably isn't worth complaining over.
1 -
Nah, you're just reading into it too much, you could have closed hatch at any point, them leaving as soon as possible would guarantee you don't get hatch closure points, not waiting in the exit gate for 20 - 30 seconds and then leaving.
You're just making up an issue so you can have yet another thing to complain about survivors for.
7 -
I would understand this but I've had post game chat where they have gloated about running out so the killer can't close the hatch.
I wouldn't mind the points, but it's not my main issue. It's just a shame that you can't even have a game as good non-camp, no NOED, no franklins killer and still have some plebs do everything to attempt to wind you up.
I know of people who go on DBD with the sole purpose to make the killer disconnect. It's just sad.
Sad behaviour and just sad that's its making for a bad gaming experience.
I had some survivor games today and I did get facecamped on my first hook twice, which was highly irritating. But then I played some killer games...what a ruddy carry on. Totally different animal. I keep coming back to this game but crikey I'm getting cheesed off.
1 -
Oh ok I must of thought up those post-game chat comments too.
1 -
Wouldn't surprise me honestly.

I've had one or two wait at the gate for a complimentary hit today. A lot of them leg it out when you get within swigging range. More 'mega lolz' no doubt.
But they don't have to wait. Their purpose is to run out the gate. It's the confirmed silliness that I find curious.

I am sure some people are like that, I just wouldn't assume that is the case everytime. I mean they are not required to stay in a match for any means for you, they probably just wanted to get on with it once they realized you were not coming. Hell I am not a toxic survivor but sometimes I stick around to see if they are coming and I waddle out and let them have a free hit.
I've been running Distressing, Thrill of the Hunt, Beast of Prey and BBQ all for bloodpoints on my Demo, obviously hindering my performance but still had some 4ks and do alright for the most part regardless. I've gotten friendly survivors, ggs and compliments and such like 9/10 of my games last night. One toxic group that was all.
When I play survivor I get a face camper or ACTUAL tunneler maybe 1 or 2 every like dozen games.
These things are not terribly common, what happens is someone goes into post game chat and says something antagonizing or accusatory and gets surprised when that riles people up.
Like they go into chat and go "Lol bring a key get rekt" or "Lol you camped and still didn't get anyone" and the killer is just thinking "######### I never camped?" and starts going off and then you get a whole thing, when had they just said "gg" the other side prolly would have said nothing or moved on.
THERE ARE THOSE TROLL GROUPS, don't get me wrong, that only want to make people miserable. They exist, I've run into them, I know- but they are fairly rare, they are not this huge common problem overall, what happens is people have someone just playing the game like normal but doing well at it and act like that is toxic and then ######### just snowballs from there because people get frustrated.
Like I know because I live this everytime I start the game up, I am just as guilty of letting my emotions get the better of me.

Once again, I go back to my initial response. "Why do you care exactly?"

Survivors do things like this against the "villain" because they forget a real person is on the other end. Just like every other internet interaction. Real people with feelings just like you. Be kind people.
Speaking widely tho survivors have the power roll and consistently try to antagonize killer players by any means. They should really buff killers because if they were afraid they wouldnt do stuff like that.

You're mad that you cant close the hatch FOR POINTS?? And mad at survivors for leaving instead of letting you close it? Seriously?
Jesus christ the entitlement.

I'm not having a fit over a computer game, they're not that important to me. Just things to waste time.
I'm just remaking that it's now customary for this game to bring out simply the worst kind of players.
It's like on Friday 13th when we had those morons exploit a glitch and get on top of the house, or gang up on Jason and all dance about. More 'megaLOLz!'.
I just find it disheartening that this game is being spoilt. But I've gone on about this too much.
It's happening, move on etc.

Ok cool.
0 -
Yes. That's it exactly.
0 -
It sounds exactly like you're having a fit over a computer game.
It's a genuine question. You have the ability to avoid the situation entirely, then proceed to complain about it occurring after you let it happen. Makes no sense.
3 -
Nope. Not at all.
0 -
If you say so.
2 -
"What!!? You aren't feeling great about something on your match? Just don't feel it 4Head!" Isn't exactly what you said, but it's what it seems to imply.
1 -
When the result that makes you unhappy is literally your fault, then yes. He could've just pushed the survivor out at the exit gate. Instead, he went to find hatch and the Survivor found it first. But no, it must be that Survivors are so toxic. How could they not wait around for him to find and close the hatch!? Shakes me to my core.
2 -
when i play for a daily or a challenge i'm usually letting the survivors go unless i have to kill one. or had rancor on. why? because i'm in the game to have a bit of fun!!!! now here is the thing. i'd love to get the extra 250 points for a hatch close, and if i don't get it or two wait at the line just for the lolz then i do make the snarky remark "you could have let me have hatch close!" not because I'm upset but because I was being snarky. I really could care less, hell i open the door in these cases more often than not.

Sorry, I forgot survivor mains (for the most part) has no sense of empathy towards Killers.
1 -
Killer can close it for more points. Survivor can leave through it for more points. Why wouldn't the Survivor look for it if they weren't being forced out and are at a healthy state. If that makes you mad, then you're extremely sensitive and that's something you're going to have to work on as a person. Don't blame Survivors for you getting mad at things you shouldn't get mad at.
2 -
Why not just hit them out? More points that way.

A quick clarification.
Here is an excerpt from my original post:
"I'm in no way saying "THE LAST SURVIVOR MUST NOT EXIT VIA THE GATE UNTIL I'VE CLOSED THE HATCH!". It's just sad to know that some players will do anything and everything to antagonize others. It's just so pathetic."
It's all there.
But if anyone wants to say I said this and I'm this or being that, that's fine.
I think I'm just getting tired of the constant 'toxic' (that buzz word...) behaviour associated with this game. But it's no biggie.
0 -
I find it funny when that happens. It means you pissed them off enough to where theyโll do anything to deny you points.
1 -
Exactly. Obviously it would be nice to have those extra BP, but at least we didn't give them the satisfaction of watching them teabag the night away.
0 -
Why would they do that? Survivors get โpressureโ points for you closing the hatch too.
They likely waiting, realised you werenโt coming and left.
2 -
Why? Because they're absolutely beastly.
0 -
I'm a sucker for points, but I think it's unhealthy to reward killers with points for closing the hatch. I always like having survivors wait around at the exits because it means that I might get an opportunity to catch them off guard and snag an extra kill.
Similarly my opinion about bloodpoints stands for damaging generators, but that's a more complicated argument.

Buttock- warts.....I'm dead.
There is an achievement for hatch closing.
I believe the OP's frustration was from the survivors attitude more then the action.

GAMER CREDO FOR DBD:
Survivors are NOT entitled to anything from killers...
Killers are NOT entitled to anything from survivors.
Equip any perks, items...tbag...slug...camp...whatever you like. Anything else a person ascribes to their competitors is a road to disappointment. "Toxic play" is just a BS concept that give people a perceived justification to complain.
Just play the game and don't worry about anything else my friend.
3 -
no he's upset about the mentality behind it, the survivor sits in the exit gate trying to get a tea bag, and then locks the killer for being unable to find hatch with the extra time that the survivor decided to take. it's less to do with survivors sitting in the exit gates to give more time and more to do with the mentality behind denying a hatch just to piss someone off. It's the intent not the action.
1 -
most of the time they won't let you ahead them out, and you're just walking over to them to get tea bagged at

Trust me I'm a killer man too, it has less to do with what they're actually doing and to know that there are people out there who just want to ruin your day. It makes playing the game frustrating and in the end makes me want to just turn it off. As a community I think that's a problem, and one that needs to be addressed I'm not sure how but the more killers means some more games and maybe employing some simple sportsmanship would help the total health of the game.
1 -
I feel that match-making along with a mean-spirited player majority are spoiling the overall game experience.
Playing games should be fun. It shouldn't be about making the experience miserable for other players. But sadly, that is fun for some.
People will be turned away by these sort of antics.
I just can't get my head around purposefully antagonizing others whilst playing online games. But that's just me.

I've never ever heard of this. Like wow, whats next? SURVIVORS RUNNING OUT TO AVOID GIVING KILLER THEIR CHASER POINTS AND HOOK POINTS. Like just... Just wow
1 -
do you really have to complain about the most random stuff
2 -
At that point i just collect orbs as oni and run around in demon dash breaking pallets. Easier points and much better than that 1 "250" bp for closing the hatch. They can do whatever. I'm just getting my leftover points. And besides, they already escaped lol
0 -
Usually they let me hit them once.
0 -
So now we have a killer whining about being denied hatch close points.... wow.... ok then, what about killers tunneling and . mori'ing survivors after the first hook denying them points. Leaving is what they're supposed to do.. exits are opened, no one is hooked, I'm out..
1 -
@Dr_Loomis You are just being paranoid. They aren't leaving just to screw you out of 250 bloodpoints. They are just leaving. You should be grateful.
1 -
Expect hatch's point it's like expecting the 4% unhooking respect
