Oni is perfectly balanced, no need for nerfs.

Just menage your healing. Heal as fast as possible to deny him blood orbs, but not too fast (and not in chases) so he cant farm first hits.

Good way to disable his power is letting him catch you as soon as he injures you, so he doesnt get blood orbs.

Well obviously do that only if you want to stop him from getting his power and everyone else is healthy, otherwise its a suicide.

Oni is too powerful when he got his power and if the loops-set up are not super safe.. you could consider him almost op... but the thing that i start with no power, and i need to lose 2-3 gens against decent survivors before get it and try to snowball with infectous fright, hoping for no unbreakabale, makes him not really that great imho.

Oni isn't too powerful. There are multiple killers in the game stronger than him that have been out for years

I would not say he is too powerful, Power-wise he is in a good spot, he has a really strong ability, but needs to charge it, which is a fine trade off in my opinion. He will 100% get his power eventually (nobody can run around without getting hit), but the better you loop, the more time you waste of him, while he is an M1-Killer without any power.

But I dont think he is well-designed. Even after the changes from the PTB, he has way too much slugging potential, paired with Infectious Fright (which is a Perk which is either useless for most Killers or godlike on some few).

Nah, Oni is in a pretty great spot right now. Yes, he's very strong when he gets his power (and it should feel that way) but he also has horrible early game. If he doesn't get blood quickly enough, that can really screw him. Plus, he can still be looped in Demon mode. If a survivor gets to a strong structure while he has his power, he's better off trying to find someone else.

He’s like a Hillbilly that only has his power 30-40% of the time.

I'd rather verse an Oni than the billionth Hillbilly.

Better aesthetic and you have to work for your power.

Oni is a mid tier Billy that has garbage early game and has to charge up his power. What's op about that?

    Oni is fine.

Only thing I would change is his 2 ultra rares. Revert the change to his glove and rework the family crest into something that isn't complete trash. That's it.

Oni is fine ability-wise. He's definitely one of the best killers, and he gets access to possibly the strongest ability in the game but it can be countered if you're good. If he was currently the same as PTB Oni then yes he was completely busted and needed a change. Now he's had 2 changes to his power and his flick and he's in a great spot now.

    But seriously Devs, remove topknot.

Make it so that if survivor vaults a pallet Oni can down a survivor and break a pallet with demon strike, instead of prioritizing a pallet and completely ignoring the fact that survivor is right there

I'm not doing very good with him so far, and I think he is not that fun to play either. But as survivor I love to face him he is probably my favourite killer to play against.

It's not the killer that's too powerful, it's the player.

Yes Oni is stupidly strong when he has his power, especially when he’s using scalped topknot. However he is still well balanced out because he most of the time doesn't have his power and is just an m1 killer. His early game is especially weak. Currently I would say Oni is one of the most perfectly balanced killers in the game.

I dont mind versing or playing as oni, but i think his design is not very well ballanced.

He is a lot like myers, but in early game even weaker and in late way stronger. I would give him a slight early game buff and i would nerf his power just a bit.

Oni starting out is kind of meh. Once he get's his power I honestly think he becomes a bit too op. I'll be making 90 degree angles and he just follows me around corners. Half the time I start to a pallet and if it isn't the safest pallet ever he can quickly change directions the moment I would have to drop it to avoid a hit, and go to the other side before I can vault back. Not quite sure what to do against Oni's power just yet, before it was 90 degree angles. Now it's....hope it's an extremely safe pallet, or just go down.

I'm not saying he needs a nerf just yet. I need to get better. His power when active is way stronger than Billy's I can avoid his dash most of the time when I see it coming as long as it isn't point blank.

He is a Feast or Famine Character (Win-More).

He is the weakest Killer with no Blood and becomes one of the best Killer... BUT

You must chase and hurt 2 Healty Survivor with no ability (which is easy if your survivors are Potatoes and super hard if they know how to loop).

This makes Oni into a win-more Character cuz if you manage to catch survivor with no ability you kinda dont need the OP Mode this much...but if you cant catch em you also dont have access to your op mode when you would need it most..

They should change the way he gets his blood to ensure that he has less access to his Power vs bad Survivor and more blood vs good Survivor (atm its like 40 Blood for hitting a healty survivor 0.2 blood/sec passiv regen <- Lul and arround 2 blood dropped by a injured surv every sec).

They should bound most of the blood gain to the passiv charge rate and half the amount of blood you get for hitting healthy survivor.

Its funny to see people say that Oni is op when oni is like budget Hillbilly

  • yandere777
    yandere777 Member Posts: 728

Its because oni is ten times easier to land hits in demon dash then it is for billys chainsaw. Not to mention better movement and easier to use in chase and not as punishing to use in chase. Oh and he looks cooler. I wouldn't consider oni a budget billy in the slightest, two different playstyles
