New problem: hook suicide
After DC penalties (which are great, btw), people have found a new way to leave the match early when they don't get what they want.
Survivors who want to DC but want to avoid a penalty will instead throw themselves at the killer and then suicide on their first hook. This ruins the match for everyone else that they left behind, of course.
I just played a match as Pig on Coal Tower and I had 2 people suicide on their first hook within 3 minutes of the match starting. A Dwight had OoO and I wanted to get him out early, so i'll admit that I was going to camp him to death. But I didn't even need to, because he killed himself. His Ace friend quickly followed suit and offed himself by running right into my face.
I farmed with the other 2 survivors and let them out, because I would be a huge jerk to just kill them. I've done it before and it usually comes with a lot of verbal abuse from the survivors I kill.
So I what do we do to punish survivors who suicide on their first hook? Nothing, right? Since they didn't break any rules really. But it cost me and the other survivors points. I got a 2k from them but I still depipped. That shouldn't happen.
Getting a 2k should be a black pip minimum, right? The devs themselves even said that a 2k is the ideal outcome of a match if you don't do overly good or overly bad. It's not my fault that they decided to leave, I don't even know what their reasoning was. It's like they saw I was using Pig and decided to nope out.
Here's my emblems from that round. Again, I GOT A 2K!! I even farmed a little with the other 2. Not a lot, didn't hook them. But the depip seems unfair since I literally couldn't control this.

you can't force people to play a match they don't want to/can't be in. they can hook suicide if they want and that's fine. if it got punished they would just afk. just like killers who cant dc just go afk.

that's true, but I feel like the killer should be compensated for it. Like the quitter bonus, but more of course.

At rank 12, yes, a 2K should be a safety pip. The fact that it isn't is more of a flaw with the emblem system - that's what actually needs to be changed here.
Having said that, I wouldn't be opposed to the removal of the struggle mechanic. Not only would it prevent people from killing themselves on the hook, or at least limit the damage, but it would also solve the problem a lot of people have with how painful and finicky it is. Two birds with one stone, and all that.
