I owe the devs an apology
I said I quit after the path Bhvr went down. Like the battle pass (I know it's not called that, but it is a carbon copy of the battle pass.. so..) how things were nerfed to make it seem extremely one sided and with lack of proper communication it seemed like it was made to drive newer players in while shrugging off the older players or even not caring about the killer mains. I actually did quit for awhile too. Until recently. I watched Paulie Ester's video on the update that's coming up and I was curious. I'm just going to say I wish I actually stuck around instead of jumping on the hate band wagon. The toolbox nerf is saddening for Survivors to hear, but it's highly needed since there is no real slowdown anymore. (Yes, this is indeed an arguable statement, but hear me out.) Yet, they added a quality of life change that makes it really nice. Keeping your items after they lose all charges, that's something they really didn't have to do, yet they did and I absolutely love it. I have a bad feeling about Franklin's though.. I'm afraid it'll break the item, but I'm sure the devs know about that. The really nice Plague buff was great, it might get more players to use her now and that will be exciting. Trapper getting some major buffs is great. While it sucks that we can't normally carry more that one, I think it's fair since our traps can no longer break! Also resetting them is amazing, it's saves a bit of time and I love it. The changes to Sabotage is actually incredible. I love the fact that you can more easily predict where a survivor is going to and take care of the hook much faster. That's a fair trade. The hook breaks aren't suppose to last long, just buy enough time for your friend to escape. The perk changes are awesome and I believe it's time to talk about the elephant in the room. Breakable walls. Thank. You. This was incredibly needed, it makes things more challenging, I always found it extremely annoying that a survivor can easily lose a killer by running around a pile of boxes and a shoddily made pallet. This is extremely exciting. Thank you Bhvr and I'm sorry for quickly jumping to conclusions. While there a still a bunch of issues, it's nice to see extremely pleasant changes like these. I always craved for more dynamics for this game and I hope you'll keep delivering.

I don't think I've ever read a forum even similar to this. Don't worry dude, everyone makes mistakes and jumps to conclusions once in their lives.
15 -
I just felt bad, I guess I was scared that things would go wrong

This community always jumps to conclusions fast with nary a thought about the future. They said about a year ago that expect change always from now on. The pendulum will always be swinging.

From the looks of it, only breakable walls will appear in set areas. So box/barrel loops are still a thing but this'll definitely hopefully make shack, ironworks infinite might FINALLY be gone since as survivor when I get that map it's always open. Other things like that will definitely be nice. Trapper buff is good although I'd prefer he could access traps easier instead of having to go get them every time. Still a step in the right direction though

Breakable Walls will be niche and not in all map geometry. They're more of a way to spice up traditional looping than a way to prevent looping.
They'll probably be like pallets that you can break in advance to make areas harder to loop

Exactly how I feel rn

Good attitude friend. You'll probably noticing me poking the beehive occasionally for the same reason.
Games evolve. The games I grew up with are all different now. To expect this one to stay the same forever isn't realistic.
Who knows, in 10 years we may have 50 survivors and 50 killers and I can't even imagine what it'll look like.
1 -
I sincerely hope the game lasts a long time. This is a close second in all honesty. I just hope it can live a long life like TF2
2 -
Whether it be for the better or for the worst. I just hope it'll always be good
1 -
It probably will. You've got a solid concept and a lot of big name horror titles.
Will it likely get a whole lot different? Very much yes.
Will people still fall in trappers traps on groaning storehouse?
Always.

Sometimes it's obvious and other times they stack the camouflage traps, but it's always a fun step. Also, I'm sorry for not making sense, I've been awake for about two days

I think a lot of people do, but it says a lot about you that you're able to admit that 😊 It's natural for someone to jump the gun when they feel scared or threatened, but it's good to be able to recognise that for what it is, so when it happens again in the future, you can learn to say to yourself "I don't know the full story here, there could be more to it, I'll wait and see what happens".
5 -
I still feel bad about it though haha. But, like you said. It's something I'll reflect on and avoid jumping in with the wrong crowds

It's all good. We're all a bunch of goofballs that enjoy the same game. I look at all the complaints on the forums and I think that's fantastic. People care enough about this game to criticize it over the slightest detail.
I would kill to have people criticize my artwork to this degree, because it means they're interested in it. Do you think a lot of people criticized Deathgarden? No. Its dead for the same reason. No one cared.
Sure it gives me an excuse to be a memelord and I'm probably never gonna get that trusted tag, but we're all playing together.
Do that 360 before hitting that survivor. Crouch beside the killer trying to break the pallet and watch him be super confused.
But most importantly, have lots of fun.

Don't beat yourself up too much. Everyone makes mistakes, but the best people are the ones who have the humility and self-awareness to be able to recognise them as such and learn from them 😊
3 -
That's true enough, sometimes criticism is good, but not the ones I was involved with. You also mentioned Artwork?

That's true, here's looking forward to chapter 15

Its probably against forum rules to make advertisements for my work but ya know what I'm a risk taker.
Check out Stevian Heartbound. I'm an author with a few books out and a few paintings done.
But you know Dead by Daylight does like adding licensed characters. If they ever look at books I'd be willing to add two of my characters to their roster. I'd make them available for iri shards though.
I play the game too. So I know for sure I'd give them a great setup.
But it's a secret. I'm just a dummy memelord goofing off on the forums shhhh ;)

This thread truly reminds me why I love my job.
Glad to have you back @Majestic_Herman and really happy to see you reflect on past actions.
And for everyone preaching tolerance, respect and understanding, thanks! We're all here cause we love the crap out of that game. ❤️

Well imo it was clear the game was becoming too easy and uninteresting, so something to make it spicy again was expected and very much needed, I really think this update will give new life to dbd, ofc we ll have to see it implemented first but for sure it is a step in the right direction.
what you said is actually really nice but, unless you insulted, I think that criticizing should not.make you feel bad :) after all if we get mad it s because we love this game and want to see it live a long and happy life :)

I get scared when I read posts like this one. Someone on this forum being reasonable, rational, and logical makes me think the world might be ending.
Seriously though.... Great post.

It seems like a great job to have, looks difficult when change is required, but the satisfaction must be amazing. Thank you again! @not_Queen

You know, I actually will!

Not going to lie or sugar coat it. I have insulted a bit. If you wish to go through my activities and see, be my guest. I'm not going to hide the things I've done, I was a bad guy. But, still. Thank you for the saying that

Usually I'm not anyone of those haha, but thank you so much

Yeah you are right but for trapper its not such big buff.. Those 2 miinoooor changes are great and they should be in base kit like a year ago.. But its very rare that someone sabotage your trap and reseting your trap is great but every time someone is caught or trap is disarmed the trap slightly moves so most of the time you have to pick it up and place it again.. They need to change this as Well and after that it will be fine.. But trapper needs lot more buffs and addon reworks as Well... But its a start🤗

It's a nice sentiment, but I think you're giving them way too much credit. It looks to me like toolboxes are going to essentially be brand new parts. Give you a ton of gen progress in a short amount of time.
I see sabo as yet another 2nd chance perk with massive potential for abuse.
Some killer buffs are nice to see, but are extremely minor in comparison to what's been lost.
1 -
Agree. Ppl tempt to over"hate" some changes and overreact. I personally think BHVR does a really good job with Dbd and is definatly not horny on money compared to other companies.
I personally love this game and BHVR, I feel kinda connected with them. BHVR should just keep going with their stuff what they are doing, pls keep staying with us forever <3.
2 -
You're getting a bit ahead of yourself with some of those things, especially the Trapper buffs. They're definitely not "major" buffs but they are certainly nice and it's a good step on the right direction to making Trapper actually viable. He still needs many more changes before he's good but we'll see if they take any of the ideas people have been constantly asking for on board just like the resetting traps idea (such as starting with all traps...hint hint"

I may have exaggerated on the major part, but it's a lot better than he was. I don't know if they will allow him to carry more than one trap at a time, but I'm just really happy that they can't be broken.
1 -
Let's wait and find out. The toolboxes are a nice nerf/slight rework. When you mentioned that all toolboxes are essentially going to be brand new parts now, which is hard to argue. But, killers can use Pop on the gen to delete most of that work s survivor puts into (if they are by themselves.)

Best post I’ve seen from a killer main bravo dude seriously I can’t help but not get mad at your post you have some well rounded points most survivor mains can’t fathom the toolboxes are a great fix considering ruin is gone I main survivor but play killer too so props to you man for leaving and having the will to come back and apologize for acting irrationally kudos and I hope I see you “in the fog” :)
2 -
Nah you don't lol, the sabotage hyperbuff alone is undoing all the otherwise good things they're trying. The new killer LOOKS spectacular but mechanically pretty underwhelming.
0 -
Thank you Haha and I hope to see you in the fog as well

I guess... drop the survivor then? They did say it takes a lot less time for the hooks to spawn now. You can easily wait it out, if someone runs up to the injured survivor and use that new survivor to instantly heal them, just down them again and the other guy now since it hurts the other survivor. Also try out Hangman's trick. I know I will haha

I never said there weren't any issues

This thread is nice to see, because I've been having the same feelings. Anyone who's seen me around knows how harsh of a critic I've been of BVHR, but even I can admit that I owe them an apology as well. Things aren't perfect, but their love for the game and the passion is definitely there. Sometimes that's enough. Maybe when the Deathslinger update drops I'll return to the game myself, it's been a while.
They've definitely earned me as a returning consumer with their willingness to try and keep the game fun for all of us.
1 -
Exactly, especially with the new mechanic they added for wall breaking

I have been highly critical as well up until now. That is when you like something. Some of us express ourselves differently.
After taking part in the beta i was saw where we were heading and i liked it.
I have done a full 180 now. Reversed my review completely from hate filled bile (cos i love the game) to something more constructive. The remaining content i purchased. I have a full roster now and the rift.
I actually found a new life in the game. I am no longer just playing one killer. Today i played all different killers and i did not give a hoot if i won or lost as long as i had fun. And fun i did.
I just had a hilarious game as clown. I took no perks at all and no addons at all. I was just going to do the clown daily. I somehow managed to slug three poor survs right next to each other. I hope they learned something there. Of course i let them go. I actually felt sorry for them as one person was stuck. Literally stuck and could do nothing. I let the three go and then i had to end the process since the game would not shut down after end game collapse. I took the penalty. 5 min. This happens once a day to me at least. I hope they dont add up to quickly. Cos i dont want an hour ban for reasons beyond my control. I took footage of the incident.
I let them escape and heal time and time again. It is rare i am actually totally in the power role. Especially with a killer that i only played three games with but i saw that these kids were totally in over their head.

I've had weird matches like that as the clown too, one time I downed everyone in the killer shack with an endgame build (they did one gen.) I pretty sure you're absolutely fine and I've had some new found love as well. I actually enjoy playing as the doctor and causing some mass chaos lmao

This has to be one of the most wholesome posts I've seen in a while.
